I've s2s but my hair is still wet. Bed is made, bedroom tidied.
First load of laundry (which ds ran yesterday but left before the drier stopped) is folded and put away in his laundry bag. Second load is in the dryer. Third load, which is fine washables, is added to my fine washables and will be done in an hour. As soon as I have that hung up, I'll head out to shop.
I've turned up the heat and opened the patio door to get fresh air in here. The awful tone was sounding this morning as well but has stopped for now.

The only thing I know about shapewear of any kind is that you step into it and pull it up. I used to have some kind of torture device that wasn't S panx, but it definitely wasn't something that could come down the body from above.

I want to join helia ... eating at your house too d lilac!!!
I finished my jan. 2015 files and bill paying and just waiting for dd younger to have lunch with her. Its sunny here but with the wind of the lake it is a bit biting. (but sunshine!) ... I had fun walking past the designer stores on Oak street - just fun to see... some of the fashions were a bit out there... I am not sure who would wear a pair of yellow leather long shorts with a tied waist on a hot day lol. I felt bad for the sales people in each store because they were all playing on their cell phones because there were not any customers.
I saw a big picture of one of dd youngers (when they were in grammar school) friends who is now a high end fashion model. Always a really sweet gentle soul - this girl even in middle school would be the first one to put her arm around anyone who was sad and comfort them. The picture surprised me as I didn't expect to see some one I knew... I still think of her as a little girl - and I still see the little girl when I look at her picture.
Dd younger and I were talking about all the possibilities with her off for the whole semester...she will go back to ocular therapy as well as her reading with dyslexia work...there is a photo class she wants to take - she really has a eye for photography - as well as frostbite sailing (if her foot/leg get better)....
I was worried the other day because her pain spread through 1/2 her body... not a good sign... what is interesting: the OT said they have noticed that many patients with CRPS also have dyslexia and are ambidextrous - as dd younger is. What happens is that people, such as dd, use the both sides of their brain on most functions and when CRPS happens (from say an injury) the brain goes haywire and doesn't know which side of the brain to use. They also said her ability to play multiple instruments easily may because of how both sides of her brain work together. They still have so much to learn about this but I thought it was interesting.
Have a lovely afternoon everyone... I am waving at each of you.

Cathy: I still have one of those but need a larger one. That's from the first time I lost weight but was still jiggly. Now I figure I'm into 1x sizing if they come that large.
My sheets and telescope arrived. Dh buzzed the delivery man in and asked me what it could be. I've been so busy online it could have been a large number of items!
Once I figure out sizing for the shapewear, I'll buy it online as well if it is cheaper. But sales seem to be on this week at the two more reasonably priced places. The specialty shop wanted $190 for one piece of it and I'll need a couple of different items.

Thinking of you all as I am headed to college town...
Lilac, for some reason I was thinking you were in the cold-zone too. Pleasantly surprised (and a wee bit envious) to see you are enjoying such beautiful weather. Of course, I knew our Florida girls were warm, and Lynlee...
And really, I can't complain here. Looks like were in the 30s-40s for the next few days, and I think the forecast has all temps above freezing, so it's not so bad.
I have straightened the bed, s/s two toilets, done Bible reading, had breafast & vitamins, and printed out church giving statement for tax purposes. Also made a copy of that chicken pie recipe, to take to dniece tonight -- since she can't find her written instructions from dmil.
Hope you all have a great day!
PS -- Sooo glad to hear some good news for your dd, blessed! I know she is going to do great with this PT and she will overcome this obstacle! She has your wonderful spirit and ability to look on the bright side.
Hey, LOL, thinking of looking on the bright side, and some comments made (maybe in another thread?) about how men are often prone to look on the dark side... I have always told dh that he could be president of Pessimists International. * sigh *

Good morning everyone! DD12's IEP meeting yesterday lasted 3 hours!!! Needless to say, I had to work late last night to make up time. I left at 7 pm and got home at 8 pm. Also, needless to say, I did not get much done. I did cook my lunch for today: green beans and rice. Lest you think I have become a vegetarian, southern green beans are cooked with bacon grease (as are most southern vegetables). I have figured out how to handle feeding the cats now that one has a prescription diet. Bit of a pain, but I can do it.
Today, I am supposed to finally get the refinance closed. I had reserved a conference room here at payroll, but no one told the notary it was not at my house. Fortunately, she called to tell me she could not get to my house until later, and we realized the problem. She is coming at 7 to the house. I will have to get DD at 630, get her takeout Chinese (she will be very happy), and do the paperwork while she is there. Video time? I hope I have a little time to do some fast pickup.
It is 11:00 at payroll and I have already: been to two meetings, done paperwork, collected some data, and made modifications to two reports to combine them into one. What I must do right now: consolidate and organized multiple lists. Paying bills must go on these lists! FlyLady's zone is LR. It needs some pickup and the Christmas tree needs to be converted to a Mardi Gras tree.
Kathryn: I am mystified as to why 'How not to look old' recommends thongs. Who do they think is inspecting our underwear?

I just spent an hour and a half completing the follow-up reports for Angel Tree: 2 filled in by hand, 2 typed, lots of computing and explaining. I'm a little early, actually, but I still think I'll get these envelopes into the mail when I'm out on the school pick-up run. Just want to have it off my mind. Two envelopes going to institutions and one to the fellowship's main office.
In total, I reported to main office that there were 35 to 40 hours of work to plan, prepare and carry out the program. I really think I am forgetting something, though - can't put my finger on it but I think that's a low estimate. I almost forgot the time putting up, decorating and taking down the tree, since another lady did most of that. I do realize I did not include the time spent by the lady who provided extra fruit baskets for all the children, but I couldn't decide that that was part of an accurate reporting since it sort of fell under providing gifts, the time for which is not counted. I need to thank her again personally, though.

Elizabeth: we older ladies who wish to not look older, need to wear lower riding pants, not high-waist, old-lady jeans. As a result, to keep our unmentionables from announcing themselves to the world when we sit down/bend over, we need thongs since they ride lower than old-lady panties. Of course, we can't wear hip length tops (which would mean no-one would see anything when we sit down) because 1) they make us look broader in the hips and 2) they are a 'fat' style.
That book was iffy as to its usefulness unless you count the entertainment value I got from mocking it.
I'm still at home. I've closed the door, turned the heat back down, watered the plants, hung up the laundry to dry, refilled the bowls of water on the radiator (only 3/4 gallon used over the last two days - obviously these bowls don't evaporate as much as the loaf pans), and cleaned the humidifier.
Can you tell I'm not looking forward to this shopping trip?!
Here I go!!!!

oooh I would never wear thongs! One can get hip hugging panties that don't show at waistline. Also one can get regular panties that are high rise at the hips. I wonder how badly my clothes make me look old? Kathryn, do your books say anything at all about comfort?
blessed, I was not aware that your DD's problem might indicate she could never walk on that foot. What a lot for a young person to face. I'm glad her prognosis is good.
Glad to see Dove is still electrified.
I am having a rough day. Mailbox delivered the mother load of long projects. I slept in which irritated DH to no end because he had a proposal to get out. sigh... well, we did that and filed away a bunch of papers together... and I am working away at my desk. I will probably be all day at it.
My cough seems to have gotten worse. Not productive, just annoying. Well, I better get back to my work here.

I bet my clothes make me look old, too, but there is no way on earth I will be wearing a thong. I cannot imagine how uncomfortable that would be. I have reached an age that -- although sometimes I look at some of the "trendier" women at church, or those I used to work with, and I think "Hmmm... I look sooo frumpy next to them..." -- but still -- comfort is my #1 priority.
I must lose a little bit of weight though, b/c some of my pants have become
extremely UNcomfortable since Christmas...
And now, speaking of Mr. Lucylee, as I was in my last post...
Our new pillows from M y Pillow just arrived and I said, "Oh good! I will try mine out on the way home tonight!"
DH: "I was hoping you would drive some while I read the comics." (They arrive online at 11:00 p.m.)
Me: "I will... if you don't think dbil will..."
DH: "You're not going to sit in the backseat, are you? Because then
I'll have to sit in the backseat when you start driving. Because he will already be in the front seat."
* SHEESH *
So now I have to sit in the front seat and put dbil in the backseat and to me, that just feels awkward. Especially when everybody probably knows I'd rather be in the backseat with my pillow...
Ugh.
