thinking of you Tuesday!

Post by blessedw2 »

I am going back downtown today but wanted to wish you a fantastic day...

Happy Tuesday!!!! Nothing clever for this morning but sending you tons of focus and energy to get your work done!

I have been working on book keeping type of stuff while dd is in therapy .. they say because she acted on the CRPS/RSDSA right away there is a very good chance she will be able to walk on that foot again!
So many blessings during your day. It's all on how you look at it... positive day to you.
it is always a joy to be here with you!

Good morning blessed! That is good news about your dd's foot. ((hugs)) to her. Have a good trip downtown.

Yesterday was one of those "running from one thing straight to the next all day long" kind of days. Today will be similar, but I'll be on my own time earlier today, after work rather than at 6:15 as yesterday. I will go to the groc. store then as that weekly task has not yet been completed. I did not work at all last night after cleaning up dinner and the kitchen, and I think I'm going to regret that today. But it was so nice to relax for a bit. :)

Today, I have moms group teaching team meeting 9 - 11-ish in neighboring village. I need to gas my van beforehand. I still need to prep for class today, work on New Year cards, and teach 1:30 - 3:30. Then, I'll go to the groc. store, perhaps even straight from work. Exercise would be nice today, but I'm not seeing that happen until tonight, which is not my favorite time for exercise.

Dd16 got safely home from her ski trip last night. Her school starts up again for the 2nd semester tomorrow.

Dh got his papers finished yesterday. He was up until 3 a.m. Saturday night and 4 a.m. Sunday night (for a few hours) working with his students. Then, he put in a full day at his office yesterday after the deadline. (10 a.m. here is apparently midnight in Japan, where the papers are going.) He and his students submitted 10 or 11. Oh, yeah, he's on sabbatical. Ha ha!

I have 2 issues to figure out this week: (1) what our small group wants to do in terms of camping reservations this summer. The parks we'd talked about were immediately booked up for the dates we wanted. Like literally the minute (9:00 a.m. on Sunday) reservations opened for a day in July, the sites were gone. I guess my computer lags behind others in terms of its clock? I can look at different dates (reservations open up 6 months ahead of time, so they're coming in for that last week of July, which is when we want to go) or different parks. Not all parks are extremely popular. I'm not sure what the priority is for everyone. Dfriend S2 thinks she's going to reserve spots at a Canadian park. Their reservations system opens up 5 months ahead of time. Last year, she was in charge of camping and couldn't get anything and kind of gave up, so I ended up being the one scrambling last minute to find spots at a state park. I/We just want a back up in case the Canadian park doesn't work out. She also tried the Canadian park last year. . . (2) We have reservations to go skiing the weekend of Feb. 13. However, our dog friend Tori is very sick, perhaps dying, and I don't want to ask Tori's family to take our dogs. I'm not sure what to do with the dogs instead.

Alright, I need to get going. I need to be out the door in about 45 minutes. eek!

blessed, that's great that dd had good news. She has always been such a terrific student, it must be unusual for her to become a student of this therapy now, rather than taking academic notes in a classroom as she expected. But her ability to pay close attention and learn fast will serve her well. We just never know what's going to come up in life, do we? As they say, first one thing and then another.

Thinking of those who were battening down the hatches yesterday. Maybe we'll hear that electricity stayed with them.

Dove worked so hard yesterday to get ahead of electric-use chores just in case!

Cathy gathered her staples, so she's comfy and probably finding LOTS of interesting things to do.

Kathryn figured out how to cover all except her face for protection on her walk.

Hey, if anyone feels shivery, think of Lynlee and her dd on Australia Day (thanks for info, Sunny) cooking a summer roast in a hot kitchen.

Hi everyone.

The snow is 3 or 4 inches thick on my balcony. It isn't blowing away. The flakes are very tiny.

Dishes got done last night. I have my floor frame and craft light set up and ready to cross stitch. Nothing else planned.

Hot tea is waiting. Mmm... I also have packets of hot chocolate and hot apple cider.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

I'm up but moving slowly.

Rough night. Physically, I hurt and mentally I was wired. Dh had a rough night too with his arms and shoulders hurting. Hmmmm wonder if walking up to the 22 floor with 31 pounds of gear on had anything to do with that!

I've unloaded the dishwasher and had my grapefruit. It is making a big difference in my hunger level these days. I have it first, then my tea and chocolate, then my cereal and can easily go until 12:30 or 1 before I even think of eating again. Since it interacts with my allergy meds, I can't do this during allergy season and so often forget what a great took grapefruit is for me to control eating.

Today is an open slate except I have to do everything I didn't do yesterday. Which is almost all my Monday weekly chores. But it was a good day. The only regret is that I didn't have more time to talk with my friend instead of wasting the time on a stupid movie.

Cathy: no snow in our forecast until later this week. Another cold, sunny, day here.

Good morning!

Yesterday it was in the 70's here. Today it is to be high 70's and tomorrow 69. I was outside working during the afternoon and plan to do the same today and tomorrow. I am digging out all the leaves under the boxwood bushes. We have never seen them this bare. Each bush had a barrel of leaves under it. Dh finished trimming the trees. Tomorrow we are renting a wood chipper and will chip all the limbs. Anything that is big enough to be firewood, he is cutting in 18" pieces.

Dh is feeling better but that ear is still fully plugged. He needs to call for the results of his CT scan.

Well I better eat breakfast, so I can get the ribs marinating for dh to smoke.

Good morning, everyone. Definitely 'thinking of you' today and many times yesterday. Went to my db/dsisil's yesterday for the day. We had such a good time. I'd taken old movies that I had rescued from my Mom & Dad's years ago. DB had been looking for a specific movie and he was sure he'd inadvertently thrown it away. I thought I had more movies than I did. There were 5 'super 8' and we looked at those but no 'specific' movie. Then I had found 5 reels in metal cannisters. Lo' and behold the one db wanted was on one of those. There were movies of us as little kids and my ddad when he was training at Ft. Leonardwood, MO. Movies that we didn't even realize existed. Db is going to try to get them all transferred to digital so we all can enjoy them. Of course me, being the first-born, had several more clips than db. We were afraid there weren't many until ddad started showing the calendar counting down to October 14th.

Went out to lunch with db/dsisil (dd went with us). From there we went to one of the rivers up by Crystal River. It was definitely very windy and quite cool. Got home about 6:30.

I'm still coughing away -hoping hard to get rid of this thing soon.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Question:

Do any of you have experience with 'shapewear' (i.e. Spanx although there are many brands now.)

I'm off to shop for some today and wondered if there were any pitfalls I might avoid. I mean aside from the tremendously depressing having to cram myself into a girdle.

I figure I'll buy some for the cruise. A few reviews I've read had people saying they bought a piece for a special occasion but went back and bought more because they love wearing it daily. And my "How not to dress fat" and "how not to look old" books both declared shapewear as essential as panties. Actually, more so, the how not to look old book said to stop wearing panties and switch to thongs. I figure that's a recipe for how not to look comfortable!

Greetings from snowy Alaska! Just kidding on the Alaska part :P , but it is still snowing here. And look -- isn't that a polar bear?

. .
.

;) heehee

As you can see we still have power (yay!) but it is windy so I decided to get online this morning in case we lose our electric later. Local news reported that thousands of residents two towns away are without power.

I was going to make chili for dinner but am rethinking that. I found some frozen chicken & broccoli in the freezer the other day & will thaw that instead & make the chili tomorrow. I've always loved Pam & Peggy's advice in their book(s) about making extra meals when you cook & freezing them for a quick meal in future. It has come in handy so many times.

I'm off to browse online a little more & then do something fun. Whenever possible, I treat snow days as if I were a kid again :) . So today I'll play, & whenever the snow stops, dh & I will go out & shovel & snowblow.

Waving ~~~~~ with my mittened hand to everyone! Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Mmmm..... smoked ribs. And 70*. I want to eat at your house tonight, Lilac!

We are sunny with blue skies here! No new snow, though there is some predicted for Thursday and then again on Sunday. Temps are cold, but not untypically so, I don't believe.

Back from teaching team meeting. I'm off to rustle up some lunch and prep for class.
