Peeking in but need to go soon. .

((Twins)) I hope the jury duty isn't time-consuming.
Glad you have a day at home, blessed!
I had a couple kids who were super puzzlers as tots, LadyM. Yes to 100 piece puzzles at age 3!! :) That's awesome!! What a wonderful interest for dgd3! I'd have to look up when 100 piece puzzles were first done here (I wrote some things down), but I do know 50+ pieces were done independently well before age 3. It's a matter of focus as well as eye-hand coordination and interest - and seeing shapes.

Yesterday was a bit crazy as I tutored in the morning, left the house at 12:55, got home from work, groc. store, and then Hebrew class at 6:35. Groceries were put away and dinner was made, eaten and cleaned up by 8:35. Then, dh said he wanted to go to the gym at 9 pm, and of course he would be delighted if I joined him.. . I did - I'm glad I did, but we got home at 10:05, so that was my whole day. I had minimal time to do anything around the house.

Today is less crazy but I feel like LadyM - I have SO much to get caught up on, I'm not sure where to start.

TaDas so far:
- bfast
- QT
- s2s and self-care
- sorted laundry
- ran dw (we forgot to run it last night)
- checked emails; responded to one
- emailed moms group steering committee x2; brunch reminder + next meeting

I have so many errands I need to run. I can do some tomorrow a.m. I could also do some tonight, but I may need tonight to work on payroll: grading final exams for the session and typing up paragraphs for sharing in class tomorrow. . .Anyhow, I do have some time slots to work with to get everything done.

So, I've decided to run these errands next:
- gas the van; it's basically empty
- drycleaners
- Trader Joe's
- library
- possibly Walgreens. .

When I'm home, I will:
- have some lunch
- get going on laundry (dh has a lot from his trip)
- finalize lesson plans for this afternoon (half the class time will be the reading and vocab exam)
- possibly work on those last NY cards. It IS almost Valentine's Day after all. Amazingly, this is still within range for our family. . . . Those who love us are happy to hear from us whenever.

:D HAPPY BIRTHDAY, EMPTY NESTER! :D And many more, too! :)

Had very little sleep last night, because-- :o :? :?:  -- I accidentally fell asleep in my recliner, for about 1.5 - 2 hours, woke up and the late night talk show was on! I missed whatever was on TV at 10 p.m., which DH was watching, I missed the late-night news, totally, and was so surprised I didn't even hear it! What planet was I on? :?: :?: :?: Then, my digestion, from what I ate at dinnertime, started in, and I was up all night long. :( However, I did write deadline dates and sub-deadline dates, in my Helen Steiner Rice day planner. 8-) I wrote story titles on the monthly goal list pages, but not all of the goal months yet. I started a short story outline on 4 x 6" index cards, which is from the male POV. I love it. It's so fun to write. Why is it, when I write like I'm a man, the stories sell, but when I write like a woman, sometimes, they don't sell? It's way cool. ;) :) I'm having fun with this story. It's just happening.

I got to see the sunrise through the trees, what little of it I can see. It's dry here, it's gusty, too, and I made 1 bookmark, for dcousin-in-law, which she'll love, and I wrote her a letter, too. We've written each other for 44.5 years now. :) :) "Been there" for each other, too, all of these years, through our two sons and 2 dd's for support, joy, and celebration. It's been so nice, to have a friend, who is also family. ♥

I was thinking, after all of my pink, red, burgundy things got together, on my desk and 3 walls, in my small office, how it'd be so neat to pain the 6-foot diagonal wall red, too. Then, I thought how it'd be cool to paint the outer edges of the big white built-in shelves, red, as they face into the office. I'd leave the shelf bottoms and tops white, for contrast though. My goodness, when I tell DH what I want to do, I wonder what HE will do or say! :o Sometimes, when a 63-year-old tells a 73.5-year-old their plans, they don't go over so hot. ;) I keep looking at that wall and it's "screaming" to me: "PAINT ME RED! PAINT ME RED!" :P It's my office, so he'll most likely say, "You can do what you want. You're the one who will be looking at it everyday."

If I get my rear in gear, I'd sure love to wash the bed sheets, then later, do the towels. That's the only laundry loads I have enough laundry for, to do. I did so much tidying up last night, I don't need to do much, except for where I'm working with outlines. I need to do some dusting here and there though. It's like I've noticed, in places I've seen awhile, all-of-a-sudden, the dust is more noticeable. I see a few little cobwebs, too. I'll try to get to them today, but I need a little nap. I wrote DH's Costco list and grocery store list (same list) last night. He's going today, but first, he's watching a Robert Redford movie, called "An Unfinished Life," with Jennifer Lopez. We've seen it before, and it's worth seeing again. :) :)

Good luck to you and your Dmom, today, LucyLee.

Have a good day today, Everybody! :D

happy birthday lady maverick.
Feline friend that's why I go to bed at 10:00.
The rain has it really slick and muddy out in the backyard by the gate and the chicken run so I have to be really careful when I do chicken chores.

Home again. They didn't want me as a juror today; I was the last one excused before they finalized the selection. It might have been because I indicated I had an evening meeting at 5:30 today but I could miss it if needed. Mixed feelings...but I'm glad I'm home, not there.

I am going to shut my eyes for just a little while. My head is killing me today.

Glad you can be home, Twins. ((HUGS)) for the headache.

Oh, that is what I forgot. .

Happy Birthday MT!! I hope you are celebrated well!

Also forgot to say that it was not our idea to have a 2 year old doing a 50 piece jigsaw puzzle. Dfriends E and C watched our kids every other Friday evening when we lived in TX, and C decided to do this b/c one kid was so into jigsaw puzzles. We thought she was crazy at the time.

More TaDas!
- the van is gassed
- drycleaner drop off
- TJ; bought some snacks for the ski trip.
- library

I'm eating lunch, some split pea soup and plain Greek yogurt with an apple diced into it.

Next:
- finish lunch
- start a lol
- plans for class

(Twins). I'm glad you didn't have to sit all day on a panel with a headache.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMPTYNESTER!

Not a lot going on around here. Waiting for DH to get back with the car. His truck that he uses to run around with is hooked up to a big trailer at a jobsite, so we've been sharing the car. Not always the most convenient.

I need to go to 2 banks and get a light bulb at a store. It is a weird one we don't have any in the cupboard.

Sent a letter to a friend. Have a new person who got in touch with me last year and we've been writing back and forth. I guess I have a pen-pal now!

Wondering how Lucylee's DM is.

Yes, Happy Birthday to Empty Nester!

Oy, can I just vent for awhile?

Sometimes I feel like Lucylee's mother must feel, although in a lesser way because I don't have corresponding physical issues. I just can't seem to get things done. I procrastinate and put off things I should do, then feel so guilty about doing them that I can't do the other things that I need to do. I have temple things that I've needed to do for a year that haven't happened...and I am so sick of it and discouraged and guilty and edgy. And I can't get to the things I'd really like to do - genealogy and stamping. What is wrong with me? And then I argue back that I am just so burned out and sick with temple biz that I shouldn't have been asked and certainly shouldn't have agreed to do it in the first place. And on and on.

End vent.

And I feel so overwhelmed, even getting this afternoon back.

OMM:
-respond to dcousin - duncle passed away last night
-respond to a different dcousin re: DNA testing - there wasn't a chance to get the DNA from duncle before he passed away
-find phone number and call sister of first dcousin above re funeral arrangements, if any
-copy f/s for meeting tonight
-write down notes for meeting tonight
-work on getting it all down on current to-do list
-start writing statement I need to do
