blessed, what a frustration. That would be wonderful if either the biking or boating would work out, or both.

No, my dsecondmil cannot go out to walk. She can't leave dstepfil, who has dementia. Within seconds of losing sight of her he becomes distraught so they will even hold hands to the mailbox or she doesn't go, and she won't leave when he's asleep because his naps are so unpredictable.

Dbil's idea with all the ice-chipping attention Saturday was to give them a better chance to drive out together and visit some on Sunday afternoon, when conditions would have been best. I think they took a drive to one of their siblings to break up the monotony of being ice-bound. Will have to ask how that went. Dfil loves riding and visiting, although he is finished with it fast and ready to ride again.

LM I wonder if LO's tummy issues will settle now that he isn't eating so much, so quickly?

The sermon is almost written, just editing to do. This time it almost poured out of me and went in an entirely different direction than I expected. I love (and hate) when that happens! I love the feeling my fingers are guided by the Spirit but I mourn the time wasted while I informed myself to head in a different direction!

I still have to edit it but can't. The next two days are emergency communication system testing here in the building. Which means the speakers in the office and bedroom wing are now on. There's a hissing noise and they've chosen to play country music. The words in the music distract my thought process so I'll have to set this aside and work on it after 5 p.m. We are out for part of the afternoon so there will be a break. I can work to music if there are no words (dh is the same) so I'll make this a suggestion.

If we close both doors to the kitchen and put music on in there, we should be able to drown out the music from the speakers. I'm regretting taking the doors off the dining room and hall to the bedroom wing at this moment since we'd be able to isolate the sound better. There's no way dh will be able to work in the office today.

In the meantime, I haven't s2s so that will be my next project.

Hello all! It is still morning for another hour here. I have a low-key day today, my lowest key day of the week, actually -- and I'm using it to be very relaxed and leisurely. I should be using it to get caught up on things. The only thing on my calendar is payroll this afternoon.

This week isn't too bad, actually. Tomorrow and Thursday, I have 2 meetings plus payroll. WW is a very short meeting tomorrow, but I will meet with my mentee after work, and she likes to meet longer than our scheduled 1.5 hour meeting. Thursday, the moms group will take a good 3.5 hours with set up and clean up. Book club that evening is supposed to be for fun! However, I can only go to book club if I have (1) a quiz made up for my class for Friday (2) agenda for meeting Friday a.m. made up (3) devotional for Friday a.m. made up, if no other leader volunteers to do it. Friday, I have moms group leaders meeting in the morning, payroll in the afternoon, tutoring immediately after payroll, and then dh and I are meeting friends for dinner. Dh is supposed to arrive home on Friday. . .

How's the kitchen coming, blessed?
Oh, that music sounds frustrating, Kathryn. WTG getting the sermon written!
LadyM, I remember my dbro. was on meds for adhd when he was small, and they did take away his appetite and he did lose weight. I think the meds at the time (37 years ago?) also made him depressed, so my parents took him off them. I'm sure the meds are better nowadays.
The snow does sound pretty! We haven't had snow for a while -- not that that means there's no snow on the ground. We have a base of a foot or so, but no new snow has fallen.

I have:
- done emails; replied to a couple
- sent email reminder to moms group steer. comm. w/ details for our meeting on Friday
- s2s-ed and done self-care -- except for teeth
- folded and put away a small lol
- had some QT

Next:
- teeth care
- change sheets on MBR bed
- make weekly list in my notebook
- tidy kitchen, if needed.
- prep for class today

Later:
- class
- exercise?
- items from my weekly list, perhaps getting a couple cards in the mail
- supper: leftover beef and barley soup for me; dd16 will be out to oboe lesson 5 - 6 and then an orchestra rehearsal after that.
- garbage and recycling needs to go to the curb

Have a good day friends!

Morning y'all...

Yes LadyM loss of appetite is a side effected of the meds LO is taking. It's always one of the concerns of many parents. Also some kids find it difficult to go to sleep.

My suggestion is to let LO eat breakfast before giving him his meds. That may help. Also some times loss of appetite deminishes after taking the meds for a while. There are many pros and cons to meds. In my experience I have seen great academic gains for many students. During this trial time make sure to ask LO daily what differences he is experiencing. Common answers are... I can think easier or it's not so noisy in my head.

To help you understand those comments the best answers came from my "kids". When I asked a boy I had known for years how the meds help him this is what he told me.... Before I took the meds I would be sitting at my desk and if a door slammed in a classroom down the hall it would bother me. If the sunshine came through the classroom window and caused shadows on the desks I couldn't focus on the teacher. All the noises that I heard were way louder than they are now.

It's been a while, but somewhere I have a link that lets a parent experience what it is like to live with ADHD. I will look for it and post it when I find it.

My routines are done and my day holds laundry and vacuuming. I noticed the camels are getting restless so I need to attend to the as well.

Y'all stay safe. My son lives in Dallas and I asked him if the ice and weather is as bad as the news is saying. He told me it was worse. This from someone who is used to driving in VT winters.

My minister friend is also study to become a pscho-analyst and he asked me why I said I was ADD, was I officially diagnosed? No, but sunlight distracts me, noises or smells distract me (that's why I can't get anything done on cigarette smell days) and quieting the noises in my head is an ongoing challenge. Praying is exceptionally hard because of that. This morning it was the ticking of the clock that bothered me (before the music started over the speakers.)

Our apartment was one of the first checked so I've put a piece of saran wrap with duct tape on it over the speaker in the office and that dulls the sound enough that I barely hear it in the kitchen with the doors closed and if I'm as far from the speaker as possible and have music on in here.....

They did switch to Vivaldi's Spring (from the Four Seasons) but it is the same movement played over and over. One of my favourites but I suspect I'll hate it by lunch time!

I'm going to propose dh take me out to lunch.

He's showering now (neither of us were dressed when they came to check our speakers.)

I'll take my computer with me and perhaps we can work at the library after our doctor appointments.

I am making progress. I checked on dmom's med order and order meds for myself online. Transferred $$ for temple. Purged refrigerator and took out trash to the street. A.m. routine is well underway but haven't walked the dogs yet. Will go ahead and change shoes and do that next because dMacs is antsy. (DH always reminds me "You are the human" but I hate to make him wait. He can do his business in the back yard, he just wants to walk.) Temp is up to 30 degrees with very little wind so that's something.

-walk dogs
-deal w 10 pieces of paper
-write two notes
-ck online mother's bank bal and credit cards
-reboot laundry that I started earlier, start a load of delicates
