Figure Out the Clean-up Tuesday

Post by Harriet »

I had to keep reassuring them that it was ok, no one was in trouble,
little kids often make messes, we just needed to figure out how to clean up.

What clean-up faces you? You'll figure it out.

Maybe we can take some things from messes to clean-up status today.

LOL Harriet, I was trying to figure out a way to use that story as well but we aren't expecting snow so Big Dump Tuesday didn't work!

Good job keeping calm, Booksaver! And it was nice that the family did their best to help rather than expect the paid staff to take care of their messes. The dad set a good example for his daughters.

I'm up. Dh is back in bed. He attended a meeting in Europe from 4 - 6 this morning. I got out of bed 40 minutes after he came back. We had gone to bed early so I was awake.

My apartment isn't messy but the paperwork situation is so I'll work a bit on that. But first, I'm hoping for a sermon to flow out of me. I've allowed the ideas to germinate for over a week now. Interestingly, I probably have more than enough but don't have an opening and so can't let the rest pour out. So today I'm going to break down and write the rest and hope the opening appears at some point. Normally it is endings that I don't have until after writing the whole thing (which makes sense since they summarize what you've written.) Perhaps my opening is "Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose" (the more things change, the more they stay the same.)

stay safe all of you who are experiencing record breaking weather.
10.36

my day in brief
yoga
pdoc
bin day.
The umbrella with wayward spokes had to go. Also a fridge vege bin clean out.
I had a late night escort for the bread that hid, for removal from the premises.

Still to happen
dishes.
bath
Just begin.
Living this day, today
Take a reality check; Remember to breathe; Do what I am able to do.
Look for the good in all.

Overactive imagination - I can just see that bread, cowering in the shadows at the back of the bread box!

No real progress except background reading. And much of it will assist in next week's sermon as well (which will include info on the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Depressing reading and looks like it will be two depressing sermons in a row. Thought provoking but depressing.

Just CI for a quick minute. Have to leave for church to work on rolling bandages.

Went to see friend in Bradenton yesterday with another friend. It was an excellent visit and a very easy trip -the 'back way'. I just found my new 'best friend' for the trip down that way. Good thing as I expect we will be going again in a few days. While we visited another dfriend in the hospital there, passed away yesterday afternoon. We were supposed to go there to stay a few days in a week or so. Had put it on hold as he'd had a very mild stroke 2 weeks ago today. But for some reason they never could get his BP to come up and stabilize. His wife has been my very dear friend for a long time. :(

Have to run -will be back later and hopefully accomplish something here. We're going to dh's db's from church.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Snow falling here. Dd did go to school and we just had no trouble to speak of, since this is actually snow. How easy is this - delightful. Little bird footprints in snow are so cute. The deer look lovely. 4 inches, I think they say, but I don't know what the next front will bring on Wed night, supposedly bigger. I believe few forecasts now.

On the other hand, I feel badly for reciting the previous forecast to HRH's dmother, in which we were going to reach well above freezing temps today. Now that hope fades and her county's school system is closed. So she won't be able to go out after all. Dbil chipped and scraped her walk and driveway clear of the ice parfait Saturday. So she had about 24 hours of normal and I hope she took advantage. She had looked around (as had dbil) for the stuff you can buy that will help melt ice on steps, etc. But everywhere it is sold out.

Time to pull the cornbread out of the oven.

I will be thinking of your d mom in law for safe walking in all that beautiful snow --- I love how you mentioned the little bird tracks in the snow d harriet... one of my favorites of winter snow.

thank you d harmony.

I had to leave the house yesterday as dd younger had a doctor appointment and d uncle had to go to the oncologist and the bank. I was gone until late.
dd youngers eye doctor appointment was confusing. We were there for 2 hours because they couldn't find her prescription for her contacts as her eyes kept changing. This is getting frustrating. She has to go back in one month to see if her eyes stabilize. She was hoping to get back into biking this spring to join a team.sailing starts in April

Good Morning!

The first 4 hours of my day has went well. After taking LO to school, I txt'd his teacher and told her today is the first day of adhd meds. I was told one of the side effects was weight loss because of no appetite. I wasn't expecting it to happen so quickly though! LO didn't want to be dropped off at the school cafe this morning where he typically eats breakfast. He said he wasn't hungry and would just go straight to his classroom. REALLY? LO isn't hungry? Feels kinda weird to hear him say that. We will see how the rest of his day goes.

Next up -
** kitchen to MM status
** LOL hung up, folded & put away
** trash to the road

the mess: THE KITCHEN
1. we don't have groceries (bought uncles but not ours) - which caused us having to eat out a lot. (problem $$$ and not healthy)
2. dd younger made a lovely dinner Sunday night... but we have dishes piling high in the sink
3. floor needs washing
4. things need be put away
5. menu's need to be planned
6. cooking must be done early so that it is done by dinner ;)
7. refrigerator needs work

Having a clean kitchen will help us eat healthier
