Good morning, everyone! I just realized I have not checked in since April 17. No catastrophes, just didn't get around to it. More bad news on my car: I called to get an alignment, but when I described my problem, it is more likely to be a complete brake job for about $450. At least one of the rotors is almost certainly shot. When brakes get hot, sometimes rotors warp. Given the engine fire, it is likely at least one got too hot! That makes $450 for brakes + $1100 AC work + an unknown amount needed for the funny engine noise (probably a pulley or bearings, and also likely to be a result of the fire). The cost of known repairs now exceeds the value of the vehicle ($1700 on a really good day). CarQuest has now been kicked into higher gear. I don't believe I can easily afford a new one. Used Dodge Journeys are still heading the favorites list.
Elizabeth's Own Plumbing Service finally got around to finishing the sink work last night. I also had to do an extreme clean of a catbox and mopped under it. (There was nothing dreadful to mop, I just schedule that area when the catbox is not sitting on top of it). I was planning on doing church webwork, but the site is down. I had told the pastor we needed to re-up our account, but he had not gotten around to talking to the secretary. I talked to her and it is getting done. Mailed checks to deposit. I cooked some vegs to add to my lunch today, but soon I am going to need a massive cook-a-thon.
They have called an animal org meeting Friday to decide what we are going to do about something the city decided. One board member wants to picket. I don't have time for that!!! Nor do I have the inclination. Besides, after reading some additional information, I think the city did the right thing. Obviously, as a board member of an animal rescue org, I don't favor indiscriminate euthanasia. However, dogs with attack history should not be simply given new names and shuttled off to different shelters. Especially after the receiving shelter has sent them back once already for more attacks at their facility! Ethical and legal problems abound! No-kill should not translate to no-sense.

Good Morning Ladies! Finally took the time to go over to the laptop we use in AZ to get the address to put on my computer. It has been very busy since we got back to NV. One thing that was really nice was that we had the whole house painted last summer and it still looked clean and tidy. Now? Well, there are things to be put away yet. This old body doesn't work quickly like it did when it was younger.
I think I said before we left AZ that we had bought a place in the park where we always stay. Now I can hardly wait to get back there to make it all "ours". I have a lot of things going on in my mind that I want to do. (Writing it all done of course because I don't remember as well as I did.) Example: I lost my car and house keys when we were down there. I searched and searched and Nada! I am furious with myself. I don't have any idea what could have happened to them. It cost us $50 to have the SUV key replaced and I still don't have the key fob. Mr. Guy said he would contact the dealership and get me one but hasn't done that as yet.
Today being Earth Day, the new little Peregrine chicks in San Jose that I have followed for 9 years now were banded this morning. There is a contest each year to see what they are. I forgot

to do it, but I think there are 1 male and 2 females. (They were hatched in a special made box on top of San Jose City Hall and now the school kids of SJ have a contest to pick names for them.)
I have become addicted to Pinterest and now have 31 more boards. That's me! Whenever I get interested in something I go overboard.

Is this a SHE thing?
Have a beautiful day everyone.
Editing to say - 3 little baby Falcons - Falcons meaning female.

I've s2s and done physio/floor exercises. The whole "Life expectancy can be predicted by ability to sit on the floor and get up with minimal assistance" has given me new impetus to do stretches, etc. I'm also practicing standing on one foot again. Haven't been able to do that for about a year due to the plantar faciitis.
I've started another load of laundry and put away both the fine washables from last night and the load from this morning. So things are progressing here.
Lunch time!

Oh I do know of what you speak, Norma. Work/rest and so on -unfortunately the "rest" far outweighs the "work".
Got the laundry twin twirling & went to W mart. DPastor called me with info while I was there. Took care of everything & now am in that aforementioned "rest" phase before fixing lunch.

Lunch is done and I washed up the dishes since I knew it would only take a few minutes.
Washer has 10 more minutes, then I'll hang up those clothes and dh and I will run an errand.
The clouds are really oppressive so I don't feel like doing much.

Hello,
everyone!
I am so glad no one was around to check ME out yesterday. I literally slept and read all day long. I finished the gruesome novel, and have now started a new one --
Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty. It's also a sort of crime mystery, but not as gory (so far!) as the other. She also wrote
The Husband's Secret, which I read a while back, and it was very good also. * Both these books are set in Australia,
Lynlee! *
So I have N O T H I N G to show for yesterday. Nothing at all. I did call the bug lady, for ds, and she called back and said she would call again when she was back in her office... but she didn't. Which is not like her at all... but I will wait until she should be back tonight, and call her again.
Today, called doctor's office about that wellness check-up that is supposed to be on file now with insurance company, but insurance company has NOT received it -- even though doctor's office has reportedly faxed it TWICE. I'm going to get a paper copy of it so I can mail it to them myself if it does not show up soon!
Also need to call dmom and my daunt today...
Dusting around this house would be a good way to spend my time...
Catch-up on ZONE work...
And...

I am still "off the wagon" so far as exercise goes. * sigh *

Hi again! I am waiting for a query to run, so I am checking in here. I have determined what should be done tonight:
- Errand 1 - pick up book at church
- Errand 2 - take dead hard drive to repair place
- Garage light
- BILLS!
- Organize CarQuest data (yes, it will be on a spreadsheet)
- Church webwork (obviously, the secretary has re-upped the subscription)
- Search places like Etsy to get a reasonable value for the crocheted auction shawl (for the animal org)
- FlyLady zone (MBR) - put away LOL and change sheets
The book is actually a request from DD13. A new adult Sunday school class was announce last week on spiritual warfare, a subject she has been quizzing me on, and one that I am not an expert on. She got permission from the pastor and the class leader, but I decided that I would go with her since it is an adult class. Starts next week and I have warned her it is likely to have homework. The class leader is part of the youth ministry and his general view if "If they want to learn, let them".

Just CUOP catching up on posts from yesterday so far... ...
RunKitty, sorry you had such turn around on payroll schedule.
Kathryn, your entire paragraph about your music friend's more recent medical stuff had me shaking my head, from the neglect in telling her about a fibroid to the whole concept of treating with cancer treatment when there is no reason to think cancer. I'd also wonder about what estrogen she was put on, if they suspect it would have caused this result - possibly oral. She should have been monitored during this time if there was already a fibroid. This is tough for her.
Will continue reading after school run. BBL
