FANTASTIC FRIDAY

My company should be here within the next 90 minutes. I am done with all prep.

Dh drove on home yesterday. So he drove 800 miles in less than 15 hours. I didn't realize how worried he had been after his surgery. He said he was so excited to get home and start living his life again.

Dd2 was up until 4:15 this morning getting ready for the party tonight. The cleaning crew came today and cleaned. Dd2 had bought new furniture for the living room upstairs and family room downstairs. The furniture that was downstairs, they hauled it off. They gave the sectional the sectional to one of his nieces. One of the recliners was ripped at a seam. She has someone who can fix it and she was thrilled.

Did my walk this morning before the15 drops of rain fell. Yea so glad to have that done and I feel better now.
ToddlerN is here now.

I cooked up the meat for the chili and got onions from the garden cut up for it as well. I will wait to start it as it does not need as much time on the hi setting.

Napped. Deeply. So did dh. There's something up with us and we aren't sleeping well through the night so have resorted to naps in the daytime. Nothing wrong with that until some day when we can't break for a nap. Maybe we'll catch up before then.

Dh is cooking dinner now. I have to leave at 5:30 so I hope dinner is finished soon. Otherwise, dh will have to drop me off and I'll walk home.

Me too, Kathryn. I often wonder how I can sleep so deeply in the daytime and be awake for hours in the night. But I just can't make it through without a nap of some kind when I've slept poorly the night before.

I have completed numerous payroll tasks and checked them in. There is 5 minutes left in my workday, not enough time to be very productive, so I am here. It has rained on us again, and there is no further water pouring into the next door office, so the roof is probably fixed. Tonight, I must do LOLs and pick up a prescription, and get those hotel reservations! There is also Bunco going on at church.

My "get your booty on the bus" alarm is about to go off and I need to shut down my computer, so I will say bye!

Did a store run found a fantistic sale in marked down meat, steak, roast, and coupon for a ham. H is on his way after an errand. Just me here now. It is starting to rain out now. Chili for dinner was good woth the drippy weather today.

Dinner was delicious but we didn't sit down to eat until 5:25 so I had dh drop me off at physio and I walked back.

I like the physio therapist. The building has step to get into it which is weird and difficult for me but not insurmountable and by winter should be fine. I have two new exercises to try. And heat on a more regular basis. Bike riding is ok, even if it hurts up to pain level 3, as long as the pain goes away after stopping. And my exercises will hurt (but stop hurting when I stop doing them.) I should be sore tomorrow after all the prodding she put me through tonight. The calf problem is actually my back (something I suspected when I started to have trouble putting on my socks while sitting.) So we'll work on my back as well as the exercises progress. I have two appointments for next week.

Lucylee: Remember we talked about the Willow Curve? One of the descriptions of it was a $600 heating pad (and heat isn't great for knee inflammation, one should use ice.) Turns out the thinking is changing and heat is now prescribed for a lot of things that used to have ice. Icing is limited to a number of times a day and all it does is relieve pain at the moment. Heat, on the other hand, can have more lasting effects. Doesn't mean I'd pay $600 for a Willow Curve, but it explains why your dh is getting relief with it.)

I'm up to 4200 steps for the day and unlikely to go further today. It was all I could do to get home.

Kathryn, I totally agree that it appears to be an extremely expensive heating pad, but if he thinks it's helping, I figure "more power to him," you know.

I told ds I was not coming back out to the festival tomorrow. I hate to miss, bc I do enjoy it, but I was just miserable today... Nose and eyes pouring like Niagara Falls. It's not worth it. Ddil didn't go today, and I hope she's not disappointed that I won't be there to help w/dgs tomorrow, but I can't help it. Ds said he didn't think she was planning to go tomorrow, anyway.

Posting on phone so y'all forgive lack of responses to others. Dh had computer tied up with baseball game.

Would like a break from days filled with running from one task to another

helia, I so agree.

Last evening dd was up late finishing her junior exit essay and could not get a chart to import into her document. She and her ddad were ready to make this into a challenge to force technology to their wills - no matter how little sleep they got. I had her leave a space for the chart and email the chart to me. Printed and cut out. Good old scotch tape around all the edges and voila! Copied that page and stuck the copy right in line. One crisis averted. Frankly, there were a few others but I am glad she had that teaching moment! The old ways are dependable!

At any rate, the essay was one reason I just left my computer on all night last night, since she didn't know what hour she might get up and recheck all. Thankfully, there were only a few tiny edits and she was satisfied.

But in general we didn't get enough sleep. Then I had to monitor the door because of a delivery. Sigh. Frustrating. It didn't come and we now know it won't until tomorrow, but the postman appreciated my quick attention. He brought another package. When HRH popped in for a while I used the opportunity to dash out on the pharmacy 2 errand while he could be door monitor. A good thing because they are not open weekends.

Also got gasoline.
Also picked up newspaper with dstepson's company and project featured on front page.

Dd had a friend who needed a ride home.
Fielded long call from dear aunt worried about other dear aunt.

Dd went to school play this evening. A really amazing one by all accounts. Everyone very proud of the drama dept. But I just couldn't take time out to stay and just did the school-run thing again.
