Team cleaning is done although I still have some of my tasks to do.

I have spent most of my time handwashing dishes from the past 2 days in a vinegar/dish soap solution. When our water softener broke it wasn't just inconvenient but ended up costing me hours of extra work. This experience has been a good reminder of how important it is to have a working water softener. The dishes that were washed when the water softener system wasn't working right are covered in a white chalky film from being washed in our super hard water. The inside of the dishwasher is also covered in that same white chalk film. Ditto sinks, faucets, bathtubs, etc.

I texted an order to a local BBQ place and picked it up. Today's special was Surf & Turf. There was a lot of food! I could easily make 3 or 4 meals from their serving sizes.

DH has been gone 6 hours taking his DMom to get MRI. I'm hoping everything is going okay and they are just out shopping and having fun. .

Headed to College Town, just dh, dgs, and me. We decided Dgd didn’t need to travel with stomach so iffy, and ds wasn’t all that excited about going anyway. So I’m going.

Hope you’re all having a good day!
Tomorrow is another day.

Have fun, Lucy! I have the challah ready to come out of the bread maker in about 20 minutes, and the soup is bubbling along. Need to finish the kitchen clean up.

Vent to you guys because I won't say it to dh: I'm a bad wife. Dh sent me two dozen roses yesterday for Valentines in a delivered box. I had to unpack, cut the stems and trim off lower leaves and put them in the (included) vase. Somehow it takes the fun out of receiving flowers when they don't come to the door so beautiful. They're at least arranged nicely now, and they are pretty. Vent done, I know I'm ungrateful.

Back to challah and kitchen clean up.

mmmmm... .. poblono enchiladas ..... mmmm

I've had that feeling, before, Twins'. Like, "gee, lots of responsibility here". Later I appreciated the vase of flowers enough to be philosophical about it. Best thing about a florist box, though - great to store oddly shaped items.

Nancy, ouch, ouch!

Dee, talking to old friends is fun.

Well, I have not just puttered but truly gardened today. Thinking of my back with new moves and wondering about getting ahead of some discomfort with a pain pill. I am blown hither and yon, according to my hairstyle at the moment. Funny that I am willing to put up with wind if I'm gardening.

HRH came out, looked at all the progress, and said, "You're serious about this aren't you?" as he walked back in. 8-) I know he'll help if I ask. He'll especially be glad to throw a little money at it so that he can avoid actually going to buy flowers, lol. (not his thing - he'll beg the dds to go with me instead, I know) He did call back over his shoulder warning me not to fall off the narrow ledge because "that would be the whole world falling". I think it was almost a romantic thing to say.

Yay, tomorrow's weather is a carbon copy of this almost springlike day.

Tired, so laid down on top of the bed to rest but there was a hidden cat there. If you've been working outside and seeing/thinking about crawlies and something moves beside you under the bed covers, you will get up quickly. His new adventurous sleeping may not be working out.

I went looking for previous gardening spreadsheets. I found several of them and went down memory lane of previous garden efforts. However, I decided to create a different format for tracking this year's info. I created one that shows exactly what I want to know now. The best news is......
** it is 1st quarter moon which means solanum are to be planted (aka tomato and peppers)
** It is 58 days until our expected last day of freeze and those plants suggest planting indoors 6-8 weeks before the last freeze. So it is time to plant them now! ***gardening excitement**
** I have 16 seeds of California Wonder bell peppers planted in 8 pots. If both seeds in each pot germinate I will pick one to eliminate.
** Ditto on Yolo Wonder Bell pepper seeds planted.
** Ditto on Sweet Banana peppers seeds planted.

I have stopped a couple of times to handle other things.
** Phone call from family doctor discussing DMIL results and plan to move forward (he is referring her to doctor at Orthopedic Center)
** DD10 horse instructor has moved up her lesson time by 30 minutes. Thankfully, DH was home and volunteered to take DD10 to her lesson so I could have a few minutes alone. I crave quietness and alone time. Sometimes being responsible for taking care of older and younger generations leaves me feeling a tad squished.

Dee, talking to old friends is fun.
Absolutely, Harriet. So enjoyed that chat -need to do it more often.

DD has gone to the hockey rink to help out with the owner's son's birthday party. The rink is closed to the public tonight and they're having a 3 on 3 hockey game. DD's 'gift' to the son is she'll keep score and run the clock.

Finished exercising and watching a new movie on H allmark Movies & M ysteries. Now I'll start the process toward getting ready for bed. We'll watch Wheel & Jeopardy and then off to bed. Hope I sleep better tonight. Perhaps I won't have as much discomfort.

Dh & I had leftovers from last night's chicken casserole for dinner. I didn't think dsonil would eat it and he didn't. He's really not one for any leftovers. He would have starved at our house. So many dishes we all think are even better the next day or so.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Late Check-in. Hello everybody...whoever is up. Today was an experience. I had to take the dump truck to my Study this morning because DH was off with the car to city down south...to his ankle doctor. Once a year appointment. This time he did pretty well talking with him. When he came home I asked what Dr. had to say, and DH did manage to find out what the doctor is Xraying his ankle about every year. Dr. showed him on extra the bone spur he is watching. Explained the operation he did and where and why this is happening. I've never known him to get this much information at an appointment before.

Anyway, I took the "beast" (of a big truck) to the study and got myself there and back home. Course, when DH got home there was the appointment card for next year...again on a Friday. He says he didn't know when I needed the car. For 5 1/2 months I've been going to this thing on a Friday. Oh well. I called and changed appointment to the following Monday.

What's our village coming to? I see ungratefulness, bad language... But congratulations Nancy on your mechanical abilities. Twins, I'm sure the flowers are beautiful! 1stDH used to annoy me when he bought flowers...he got big boxes of stuff... and I was 110% sure we couldn't afford them no way no how. Hard to be grateful when I knew the bill would need paid... But this household has turned that corner and rarely do gifts of any kind...there's got to be a happy medium, isn't there? Although there's hope this year, DH asked me when valentine's day is and I was able to tell him this coming Monday!

I've already send out a couple cards, bags of candy to DD, and got some candy and a card for DH...did that weeks ago... so I'm covered. Valentines is my least favorite "holiday". Such expectations.

LadyM, hope you continue to feel better. Harriet, I love reading about Tobias. Y'all are talking about gardening and I have so much to do here. Just no ambition. Quick hello to Lucylee, Blessed, Dee, Cathy, and whoever I'm forgetting and those looking in.

Feeling extra tired today and cold-ish. Not really sick...but I was up in the night with ears that needed attention. Allergies causing problems. I wish this would stop. Going to bed. I need an extra hour sleep.

I used to ask for plant with roots! We would celebrate early or late to avoid crowds when supplies run low.
So l took my self out this week instead.
To early for plants.

I did some time on the stat bike to limber up.
Learned I will have granny duty on Sat. & Sun. Every other week. Dd has lots of work.

Dd admired my "handiwork" and said it transformed both bathrooms!
