Bittersweet, that's an incredible story. We don't have to jump through hoops like that. Every so often when we renew we must take the eye test. They do it right at the DMV office by looking into the machine and reading the numbers/letters. I don't think they're very accurate. Without my glasses I can still read them if I look quickly and read them straight off without trying to focus too much on each one. Eye dr. couldn't believe I still pass that test without having my glasses on. So I don't have that requirement on my license, but I do always wear my glasses when I'm driving. Dr. form is required only if we have some impairment that has been turned in to the DMV and then the Dr. has to say it's ok for them to drive. We don't have to take any road sign tests or anything further until we're something like 85 years old, then I think it's a written test and a road test to make sure we're not senile or something. We probably have a lot of people driving about who shouldn't be. How is it going with the sale of your mother's house?

Not a difference with this holiday for me. Except no mail or bank this Monday.

I've redone a drawer in my little drawer unit with my everyday clothes. The top drawer is all the ointments, etc. so that is neater now and the tray on top also. I ironed a blouse and 2 pillow shams I'm donating. The blouse needs the sleeves hemmed so those are pressed and I'll do the sewing next. Bin is way over the top full this time and I will take it tomorrow as I'll be downtown.

House and desk looks good.

What's next? I did just have lunch. Looks like rain coming.

Goodness, bittersweet! What an ordeal! Here, the only physical test is the vision one, which you take every time you renew your license.

Getting ready to head up to Toronto for the long weekend. I'm nervous, because DH's aunt can't/doesn't drive any more (DH thinks it's a case of the family convincing her to stay off the road rather than one of her having her license taken away), so we will have to go into town and pick her up. Our car will seat 6, though the 5th and 6th seats take up most of the cargo space. On the other hand, It's only a weekend, so we won't have to take much. On the other other hand, DH is thinking about taking some lawn and garden equipment. This would mean not enough space in the car for DAunt, so DH's plan is that we would drive to Daunt's, then he would drive her in her car, and I would drive ours. This would mean me driving on unfamiliar routes in a very crowded city. I'm glad nobody will be taking my blood pressure!

I need to go out and replace my taillight. I'd also like to take the car for an oil change & to have the various fluids checked/topped off. One of the tires needs air, too. I wonder if the oil change place will do that as well?

I also need to get a couple loads of laundry done before the trip.

And I should see if I can get some payroll done.

*sigh* I am looking forward to spending a rainy Sunday sitting around the pump house (screen porch). If the car can fit it, we should probably bring a game or two.

Need to try to get packing done today as much as possible, as there is only half a day of school tomorrow, and DH would like to hit the road as soon as he gets home. Aaaaaaagh! So, I guess the answer is no, I'm not ready for the long weekend!

I took the massive bag full of newspapers to the landfill. I was happily surprised that I wasn't charged for it because it was recycling. I'm happy to have it out of the house.

The Craft Guild was lovely. We had 12 people there today, which filled all the tables that we had out. Nice to see almost everyone back who is coming back. There used to be a lot more people, but a lot aren't coming back.

I am NOT really ready for the long weekend. Rain is predicted for the ballgame -- but it's a 6:00 pm game and the worst of the rain should be earlier in the day, according to most recent weather. Cooler temps, however (mid-80s) so that's encouraging. And I am sooo glad ds is going with us!
Dnephew may be down there tomorrow night, and that's slightly irritating, but the condo IS half theirs, so... it is what it is, LOL.
DH is having a gout flare-up, plus the arthritis, and he just feels miserable. He is NOT looking forward to this trip, except for the dgrands. They are SOOO excited.

Also, probably should be embarrassed to say, but I am a little relieved that church was cancelled for Sunday. Pastor, and maybe some others, with Covid. Along with many expected to be out of town for the holiday. So, email said this would give time for deep cleaning of church and people to get well.

Monday will be another long hot day at local picnic. They have music and ds and some friends are always expected to play. Local politicians will be speaking, and there is chicken stew for sale. And it IS delicious. $30/gallon and worth every penny.

Honestly, y'all, I am just feeling really depressed. I almost burst into tears while brushing my teeth. At that point, I decided to take an extra Paxil for the day. Birthday party tonight, and I love seeing dbil's girlfriend, and we always have a good time. House looks good enough; I'm not stressing over cleaning. Just can't control my brain. I will put this in my Bible study thread in MO.

I was doing pretty well cuop here, then I got sidetracked and then dgrands showed up! I'm having a tough time, but I think I will get them to help me do some decluttering in the bedroom (which I never did last night) and we'll finish vacuuming in there.

I am just all over the place, and have been all day. Hard to focus. At this point I can't find my phone although I know it is in the house somewhere. And it should be ringing when dh walks through the house calling from his phone but that's not working. What have I done with it?

I never got out of the house again today to run the errands, I am going to try again first thing in the a.m. I spent a bunch of time online looking for light bulbs for the new light fixture over our "breakfast area" table and found some I can pick up at HD in the a.m.

This has been sitting here awhile while we've started grilling and continuing the phone search.

Twins, when my phone is lost it's usually still in the car. Maybe it needs charged and that's why you're not hearing it.

Was trying to get an early night but got into a bunch of stuff in the Master Bath to take care of so now I'm going to the shower.

I did that sewing on the blouse when I was sitting here watching videos.

Seems like there's way more I want to do than I have time for.
