worked in the 3 season room - surface vacuumed and rinsed - dogs made mud marks on the walk and new painted areas - I have no idea how. I will add hand wash these areas to my cards for next week.

This afternoon a nice visit from dbil and my little niece. Since little niece is talking about her last year in middle school this year, I suppose she's not my little niece anymore. She is still very active in tournaments for her martial arts.

Dbil admired the flowers across the front of the house. I was suspicious, but he insists no one told him to, lol!

Soup today had sinkers aka noodles from left over pie dough in it just a bit.
Now I can check that off the bucket list I wanted to at least try it.

Picked up after the dog then pulled a few weeds for an after lunch stretch.

Have 11 more granny squares to make now on the down hill slide with these.

I still see my nieces and nephews as younger ones.

by the way thank you again for the cleaning focus list - I am starting to go back into those; as I usually do at this time of the year. It's wonderful!

I am watching the one dog outside as she doesn't want to come in and I worry about the coyotes. The other dog does not want to be outside.

I just realized I didn't post this morning before I left home.

My day ...
** I kept three little ones in the nursery during small group time. When we arrived at church DD11 started to have a meltdown, so I kept her with me so she could quickly recover.
** The plan was for both kids to go with church group to the mountains for lunch and hiking this afternoon. However, it was raining so the outing was cancelled.
** Yesterday DD44 asked to talk to me without the kids around. DD44 was going to come while the kids were hiking but her visit was postponed since the kids are here.
** After church, the 4 of us teamed up to cook lunch. It was simple - DH sauteed smoked sausage, DD11 made mashed potatoes, I did green vegetables and DS14 set the table and cleaned up afterwards.
** I rode with DS14 so he could practice driving. He drove the country roads for about 1.5 hours. DS14 is an excellent driver now.

Tonight, DH and 2 others will be ordained as deacons at church.

I guess I haven't even peeked in today. Dh was busy all day doing winterizations (he and his helper). Think they did 7 today and then he came back and worked on some things outside. DS/DDIL-R were here for just a short time this afternoon. DS-R took down our sunscreens and DDIL folded them and put them in our deck bin. Then DS went on the roof and checked it and covered our AC units. They helped put away a few more things from the deck and put our Corinthian chimes in the bin. Dh put one of our rockers in there when he got home.

I just finished emptying out our cupboards and took all the canned goods and put them in a rubber ma id bin on dd's golf cart. Dh will take it down to the rec hall tomorrow. We made good headway out there so I'm happy.

I worked in our bedroom getting some sorting/packing done. Have one suitcase finally packed and ready to go. I ran out of steam. Almost felt like it was my flu shot starting to kick in. So had to stop. Was going to make strawberry shortcake for supper but it was so late by the time we ate that I put them in the fridge for tomorrow.

Need to go clear off my bed so I can go to bed. Think I have a good share of the clothing I'm taking all packed.

Congrats to your dh on becoming a deacon. Or is it condolences? I always felt it was a honor to be able to serve myself.

It's been a quiet day today. I got to the grocery. We have rain coming in tonight and the temp drops tomorrow night.

I'm glad Harriet's flowers are still drawing great reviews!

Kathryn, it's great your church is IRL now and having coffee hour. I'm glad you're able to get back!

Soup sounds good, Cathy. Sometimes I augment the soup from day to day, sometimes need to add broth because it thickens so much too.

I made chili tonight with lots of veggies and ground turkey. It's a change, and I doubled the recipe to have extra this week for us and to take to dfriend whose wife is having surgery.

Glad to see you coming through, Dee. I know you'll be happy when you two are safely settled again in FL.

After the morning online service and the visit from family, I decided on trying to do some emptying of laundry baskets.

So far, two normal loads through to folded, one I'd call medium of HRH's shirts through to drip-dry, and a small one of various hand towels, etc., which is in the washer now. I'm tantalizingly close to the bottom of a basket I haven't fully emptied in a while, so that's a success.

HRH has been traveling out on the golf cart every day in good fall weather. He takes off trash, picks up any mail and goes over to dd42's to pick up more decluttering of storage. When dstepson is around, like this weekend, he always goes over to his garage, too. Yesterday they did a brake job on my car there, while a friend of dstepson's was around.

Today the decluttering he did was just to bring back two boxes that had been boot-boxes. Those are very good for storing because they usually close more securely than most and are sturdy. This declutter was mostly filing work for HRH, and he sat with that at his leisure this afternoon. He ended up with a good-sized bag for throwaway and filing done.

Thinking of blessed's family having a happy time this evening.
