Quick check in to say hello. The sun is shining here, but the air is chilly at 49*. At night the temperature is near 30*, plus or minus a few degrees.
Even though today is desk day, I am sitting on the sofa with my laptop to pay bills for the month. It doesn't take long and checkbook is balanced also.
The weekend after Thanksgiving Ddil started decorating for the holidays. DsonT had a long weekend and got the yardwork and outside lights and etc. up. This past week we finished up and it looks very festive here. Now I have to finish my shopping.
I just talked with my dsonJ who was on his way home from work. He said nothing much new with him and his dfamily. He has been working a little bit at a time updating their house and just recently finished putting tile on their kitchen floor. He has to redo a little of the grout, though. Some of it had cracked and he said there must have been something wrong with the powder. But the big news with them is that my dgrdaughter-K posted on FB that she is now engaged. DsonJ says they haven't set a date yet, that she doesn't even know what kind of a wedding she wants yet. She is the oldest of our eight grandchildren. She will also graduate this month from nursing school as an RN.
Our ddog, Jager, is sitting at the front door, watching out the window for ddil and dson to come home from work. It shouldn't be too long now!
Waving to everyone...

I have been to Bible Study.
I can tell folks are getting stressed out.
I am glad I took the weekend to get refreshed.
Snow was part of it.
I am enjoying this holiday season way more than the last few.
Especially the lites that help on shorter days.
I got out some of the cmas theme sweaters to declutter that no longer fit.
Had lunch.

AAARRRGGGHHH!!! Just got a message in dh's "mychart" account. It says he had a phone conversation with their nurse practitioner at 4:10. He's been instructed to start taking that whole antibiotic regimen AGAIN that he took in Sept/Oct. However when I just talked to him he told me noone has called him! We got the test results almost a month ago and didn't really understand it so figured 'no news, is good news' from the Gastroenterology Dr's office. Have no idea what this infection might mean with this ablation procedure he's supposed to have in 9 days. Dh was going to try calling them, but I'm quite sure he won't get them. This is the Dr we always have had a very hard time contacting and usually not at all. Finally was able to do it through their messaging system. This is the H Pylori infection they found during his endoscopy in September. Almost think he's thinking of not taking the meds until he comes back down here. Wondering if that's why he was losing so much weight. Another fly in the ointment.

YES!!! I remembered my password!!!
I am going to try to be better about keeping up with the village. I have NOT gone back and read the months since I have posted. I have a due date for some things here at payroll and am getting errors, errors, and more errors. This weekend I made progress on a stuffed animal that is due by whenever my friend leaves for her Christmas travels, don't know when that is. I also got a new foster cat. I have Buddy Bigfoot, a 7-toed cat with an adoption pending, Willow, a year-old medium hair black beauty, Patches, the new calico separated from the others. Last night she was happy with me, this morning she was growling.
Tonight's plans: guitar lesson, errand to buy special toothbrushes. Probably more crochet.
DD20 is doing well at university but is stressed due to finals. I am doing no decorating for Christmas because we are going to Mobile for Christmas this year.

Wow, ((Dee)). He needs good, clear information and I'm so sorry time passed like that. I would have assumed it was no big deal as well.
I also got a call from doctor's office at end of their day today, and the nurse hurriedly just said 4 words: "Your labs are clean", which was not a sentence I could process well - odd wording and she spoke so fast. She was getting off the phone! What? So, I - just as hurriedly - stopped her and asked for more info. Then she explained she was speaking about a specific bloodwork panel of lots of items, and she meant it is "fine". As ya'll know, this kind of one-word information gap makes me crazy. Which markers are "fine", shouldn't we discuss the one that was a little out-of-bounds, what did the lab comments mean? etc. (I had gotten them online days ago like Mr. DeeClutter did and had questions.) So, she slowed down and talked with me until I understood, especially about a lab comment that she says is boilerplate wording that actually doesn't apply to me.
Sunny, congratulations on dgd's engagement.
Elizabeth, what aptly named cats. Is the crochet for the stuffed animal? Take a photo and show us later in A, C and N thread. We love a finish! That's nice to look forward to being with family for Christmas.
((Those standing in rain or shoveling snow)) today - warm thoughts!
HRH dog-sat for dstepdil during her dentist appt this a.m.
14 more cards done. One I can take to another neighbor is still with me, the rest mailed. If it's too much trouble, I'll just mail it anyway.
When I got back from the box I told HRH I was close to asking him about a trip to home improvement store. He said, "Tree". I asked him how he could possibly know, wondering if he had somehow been getting ads because I glanced at them online, but he hadn't. He said, "I know my wife." Hmmm ... .. sometimes true.
But we can't go tomorrow.
I substitute for dd42 tomorrow morning from 8:45 to 1:00 as she goes for in-person work program and meetings. She walked me through what to expect. Basically, it's just to have an adult on hand for youngest dgs, who may need help hearing and being heard in the in-person classrooms. But also, being available in case one of the other boys needs help with anything.
Having a tree at all is up in the air, of course.

The "Real ID" conversation that we've had here before has had a new time frame announced today. The deadline will be May 7, 2025, delayed because some states are having trouble keeping up the pace to stay on track, having had to go to appointments-only rather than walk-in during Covid and high-transmission times.

I'm done for the day. Will leave the dishes too. I'm sore and tired so bed for me.
The tree garland is on now too and all but one bin (the tree decorations) have been emptied. That doesn't mean things are in place. It is pretty bad here, actually.
I did get the plants watered in time and then had a snack ready during the call with the grands. My sister called but said I could call back since I was on skype and then a neighbour texted to say I had a parcel at my door for a couple of days and did I need her to take it in until I got home. I sheepishly explained I just hadn't opened my front door for a long time.
After I finished my advent jigsaw puzzle with the grands watching, I got off that call and called my sister. We had some charity foundation work to do and then chatted. That took almost 2 hours. I heated pizza for my dinner and got that eaten before my 7 p.m. meeting but still had my salad to eat so turned off the camera. Good choice since I was yawning all through the meeting.
Now I'm headed to bed.
Tomorrow is another day and maybe I'll get the Christmas set up and all the tidying finished up by bedtime tomorrow.
