Second Dec. Sunday Advent

hello - this Sunday has gone so very fast but it was fun so far.

mom is very cranky today - mind is great so I am taking that - dd said she had to leave for awhile. dd said she is okay with mom being cranky but not mean and is just happy that mom is thinking and following through in thoughts.

wrapped the presents I have - I spoke to d niece and she send me links for her sweet daughter - ordered the items (the things "should" get here by the 17th).

dd younger and dd older set up the restaurant for New Years eve in Florida as they have done for many many years.

after dinner Mom and dd's usually sit on the beach and watch the fireworks but I think since the pier is being rebuilt (hurricane tore down the last one) they are moving the fireworks to much later.

tree is completely done!
wrapped all the presents that I have.
found out I don't have anymore Christmas cards. oh well

I am feeling that we can start just having fun the rest of the holiday season. (besides house maintenance and dailies).

I enjoyed the silence in an empty house for almost an hour before DD11 & DD46 arrived and filled it with movement and noise. I am thankful it was happy noise, so I will choose to be content with my limited silent time.

DS14 and his 14 year old friend have decided when the 4 wheeler overheats, they can cool it down by driving it through the pond. They discovered it has a snorkel which allows it to keep running. As DS14 was proudly telling me their solution to the motor overheating, I was thinking "Here is your sign". DS14 later called again to explain they were stuck and asked permission to come get another vehicle to pull the stuck vehicle out. I declined to participate in this. So DS14 called the youth minister and he instantly responded with an off-road vehicle and tow straps to pull the stuck vehicle out of the pond. Obviously i missed the training class that teaches how riding vehicles through mud is fun. I know it is a big sport and enjoyed by many but all I see is the messy and broken vehicles. To each their own.

I have done a little food prep for the week. I weighed and packaged individual portions of several dishes. I roasted cabbage wedges until the edges were nicely browned. I am starting to get some experience in what mini meals I like and how best to prep them. I still need to do my breakfast mini meals which takes less than 10 minutes to prep 7 meals.

Drat! Just lost a whole post. Oh well, I’ll try again.

Dh called me this morning (after a poor night’s sleep) and I asked what time it was: 8:45! Oops, I was up pretty quickly and we were out the door to church by 9:45. Good service.

After church dd and I had lunch at Culver’s and then stopped at L owe’s. Took a run by P ublix for a few groceries. She had bought a standing rib roast yesterday and saved $105 on it! So she stopped in today and got one and had them cut it in half for later in the winter. First one is for Christmas Day. Think they were on sale for $5.99# if I remember correctly.

After groceries we went to DBil’s for the rest of the afternoon. Left there about 3:30 when 2 of his neighbors and his attorney came. He was trying to straighten out his Trusts that evidently the bank really has messed up. Of course shortly after we got there dbil fell in the bedroom while trying to help dd find something. Hurt his wrist pretty bad but we don’t think it’s broken. He kept saying all afternoon, “Why?” He depends on that arm mostly to help him out of bed and to help him use his walker. The brain tumors that have returned are evidently fast growing and he was the one who elected to stop treatment. DD is going back over to spend the night with him just to be sure he’s ok. His neighbors really watch out for him too.
While at dbil’s he had dd bring a basket of books out of the bedroom to put ‘somewhere they wouldn’t be in anyone’s way.’ First suggestion was the office, “No!” 2nd in the back bedroom, “No!” Think they ended up putting them in the office. But dd noticed a thick magazine type with Civil War Sites and said she knew DGS10 would be extremely interested in getting that. So he said to take it. Later we discovered in the back a bank envelope. Held $93. She’s taking it back over to him tonight. Won’t surprise me if he just tells her to keep it. He gave me a card for dh and me and told me a number of times not to lose it. I’m sure there’s $$ in it. But I’ll wait to open it when dh is here.

I’ve spent much of the time since we came home dozing. If I sat down my eyes fell closed.

Six more presents wrapped, so 11 total and 3 more arriving tomorrow. They were supposed to come today, but at least we "hear" that they seem okay out there traveling.

One of these had to be spy-wrapped. My responsibility to wrap for DangerBoy to give his mother so he won't get caught doing it and I won't get caught helping, lol. I wrapped with a ribbon dd42 doesn't know I have, in a way I never tie one, over a wrapping paper so old she shouldn't remember, so I think we're good. I'll smuggle this another day.

Thinking of the time crunch, I just ordered my two missing grocery items from ARiver so if I really don't have time to get to a place that sells them it's okay. While I was about it, I ordered that adorable little ditalini pasta for mac and cheese with dgdC. (Looks like fat elbow pasta cut in half or thirds.) Can't find that anywhere here, and I know she'll be delighted (our mac and cheese child).
