DD spent the night with dbil last night. She said it went well and she'll call later to see if he wants her to stay tonight. I know she doesn't want it to be an every day thing. Well, she can't really. In fact she has hockey tomorrow night, Thursday, Friday & Saturday. So it's a busy week for her. I'm afraid of her burning herself out. She did take the found $$ from the book dbil gave for dgs10 back to him. Haven't heard how that turned out yet. There was $93 in the back. Which only emphasizes the point that he had told dd years ago to go through EVERYTHING to check for $$.

Re: Move it Monday PWYC
I've been up a long time and mainly working on computer stuff. Had to pre-check in for a televisit for dh with his Gastro Dr. next Monday. Then had to update all his infor for pre-check in for his hospital visit coming up Wednesday. Think I have it all done now. Then I had to order some things for dd for Christmas for us and for dsonil. Have to figure out what we will give and what dsonil will owe for.

Cutting round short and I'll walk two or three laps next if I can.
I've rebooted laundry and folded sheets in dryer. I also got out menorah for the front porch and tested it and lights are fine. We don't light it for almost another week but wanted to get it out. The extension cord and timer I used for Halloween had day glow green duct tape on it and I got all that and most the residue off. Then had to get sticky off my hands. Also watered plants on the front porch. We haven't had a hard frost yet so still have two ferns plus an asparagus fern, and mint. The hydrangea I'll water lightly over the winter and it comes back in the spring, just dropped its leaves.

Re: Move it Monday PWYC
I came here late last night but it was so late I didn't check in. I got down the rabbit hole looking at LadyM's link to that video. Wondered about something I said to a lady in the Dollar Tree store yesterday. Probably could have had my sign.... although we had a nice conversation.
Sat. night I had a rough night with acid reflux (rare occurance these days) and as I tried to get up for church I was hoarse and coughing so I skipped church. DFriend was upset I hadn't shown up....I don't know what's going on with her these days, she's getting a bit clingy. I do love her and will be there for her when I can. Her DH does not go many places with her any more because of the virus, I think that's part of the problem.
Anyway, DH was out (I thought he was getting supplies for that job) but the Youth group was having a little christmas get together and he came home finally with a $10 gift certificate to a drug store. I told him to go pick out something he wanted and suggested some nice chocolate but he wants me to get it, so I will.
I got together the rest of the Christmas things I was planning to donate and a couple clothing items, all washed and pressed, and went up to the thrift. So many of our stores are closed down here people are going up there to shop. The traffic was bad. It was an eye-opening experience at the thrift but I'll save that for the declutter thread.
Later on, I went out to our side lot and noted the weed vine taking over a big part and I worked on pulling that out. These things go up into the trees and just cover everything. For some reason, DH always leaves them be but they're getting ridiculous so I got them gone. Today I went out and pulled the rest of them. Someday he will notice they're gone. I did tell him I donated the golf clubs. He said he thought one of 3 grandkids would want them but AGAIN I told him they already have their own. So he accepted my decision.
Going to do a few more cards and whatever isn't done today I'm going to let go. I've talked with 1 DD and told her how I'm cleaning out and I don't want anything, please please, and we'll see how that goes. I explained how badly the stores fared in the storm and how hard it is to shop. So maybe....
Ok, off to work, I'm impressed with how you guys are moving along with cards and gifts and wrapping. I'm nowhere near that. I did get the manger set up.

Hi…
Don’t worry Harmony… I haven done any wrapping or cards and not sure when I will start.
Went to my exercise class and spotted my ddil walking her kids. Caught up with her and spent time chatting and swinging the kids. It was fun.
Came home and made lunch and now am getting ready to work on my kitchen. I need to make space for the glasses and such that I got from my mom.
The house is under control with all my Cmas presents waiting to be wrapped. They’re not going anywhere and I do t have to mail them so I’m in no hurry.

Re: Move it Monday PWYC
I think of RR every time I eat a salad kit. She was the first one I remember talking about eating them and now I have RR & Salad Kits forever linked together in my brain.
If you can believe my imagination that means RR and I just had lunch together. I had Sweet Kale Salad with a side of sardines. My taste buds are happy.
I raked, gathered, hauled and distributed 4 wheelbarrow loads of leaves this morning. I am gathering the leaves from the front yard and placeing them into the raised beds in the back of the house. I am in a race with the wind to gather the leaves on the ground before they blow away.

Wrapping... I still have to do wrapping.
Laundry is done but towels still need to be folded and put away. Fresh ones are out, fresh pillow cases are out (and mine are on my bed, I left dh to deal with his.)
I just checked with the CDC to see if there's anything better I can point to there to get me out of this damn mask wearing and nope. If you have tested positive, 5 days after your first symptom (and if you are continuing to improve) you are 'free' of masks.Dh is definitely improving and isn't very sick at all.
If you have been exposed to someone who is positive, and you test negative, you have to wear a mask inside if around others for 10 days. Day of exposure is day zero, so I'm not free of wearing a mask inside my own home (and eating away from others) until Monday the 19th. There is something patently unfair about this. Had I got Covid from dh, and tested positive yesterday, I could be out of a mask as early as Friday the 16th. But I'll still be masked for another 3 days because I didn't get sick but I still might.
My upset and frustration with this is completely destroying my ability to be productive. I just keeping stewing about the injustice of him being not sick and waited on hand and foot because he's isolating. Since he works from home, he's back to his regular work schedule and is on a call right now. In fact, I have to prod him to put work aside and work on the Christmas newsletter, I dragged 10 minutes from him after his breakfast (which I had to cook for him) so we could go over the list of names we sent them out to so I can produce the mailing labels, although, as I write this, I think I'll get him to do the mailing labels instead.

Re: Move it Monday PWYC
Good afternoon, everyone! For the first time in over a week, I think I feel like moving... but I am in limbo/wait time right now.
* Dmom still doesn't have her orders for transfer, and I'm waiting to leave the house till she does, because dh feels so bad, I hate to leave him.
I posted a prayer request for him in J&C -- he is so miserable he is out in the car right now, trying to sleep. Just like when he had his heart trouble, it's the only place he can get comfortable.
* DGS has a ballgame tonight -- unexpected -- was not on the schedule -- but he is playing and if I get back in time, I will either go to the game or keep dgd, who is still contagious with flu. DH says he wants to go to the game but I don't see how he can make it.
* I have to take care of some bills for dmom, and I am so frustrated with the phones in this town!
Well -- I don't know if it's the whole town, but -- get this -- I got a busy signal 52 times in a row when trying to call the doctor's office! Yes. FIFTY-TWO.
That's insane, isn't it? This was over the course of 17 minutes. I just kept hitting redial.
I have also gotten a busy signal every time I have called City Hall, re: dmom's gas bill. So far only 8 times, plus Friday afternoon when I tried.
Just wanted to check in and say hello to everyone. I'm going to town now -- dh just came inside.

Re: Move it Monday PWYC
My energy has been pretty good but I think I just petered out. I did walk three laps. I stopped at M's house to see if she wanted to walk and talk but she had just gotten back from her walk and the nature center. I stopped and talked a few and caught up.
I have four hours today that I've had 250 steps, and I'm at almost 5K for the day. Yesterday I only had 2500.
I might lie down for a few minutes instead of heading upstairs to stamp. I feel whipped.

Re: Move it Monday PWYC
(Lucylee) hope things get better soon. I always figure when I get busy signals like that either the people have taken their phone off the hook (on purpose or by accident) or the phone line is not working correctly.
I just got a cell phone call and I didn't recognize the number...and I don't know who this was that called even after I listened to the message. Apparently either a drs. office or a hospital called DH and he scheduled his knee replacement for mid-january and this place needs to make an appointment. With him working, I can't do that until I talk with him. Once he gets that knee done he cannot go back and forth to the job...and I don't know when it will be done ... and I know he is thinking I can just take him to the job etc. etc. but NO we are not setting up a situation like this. He still has to deal with county office for permit also... and I'm not dealing with that either. Last evening he was sitting at his drafting table drawing a plan the engineer wanted. He's no where near being done with this or he wouldn't have been doing that.
I'm trying not to stress out. I'm unsuccessful.
I vacuumed master bedroom and bath, hallways, kitchen, laundry, family room and then I mopped all those places. I have to do this stuff while DH is out. I'm not setting up a slippery spot any more. That is what started all this with the knee. He was doing pretty good before he had that fall in April or thereabouts.
Sigh....
