Rest is required for growth.
Ha! I like that one, Twins! I was just thinking, I really should try my best to start the week off strong, because my battery sure does run down as the week progresses.
I did wash a load of clothes today and have them hanging to dry, and I've got my clothes together for weekend.
Wrote check for water bill and texted dfriend, (my oldest, dearest friend,) to show her how I am apparently dyslexic -- her Christmas card was returned to me today and I had reversed two of the numbers in her address. Boy... shaking my head...
Talked to dmom; she sounds better today.
DGS has a ballgame tonight.

 I also did not go to funeral for lady at church -- dh and I went to visitation last night, but I should have gone to the funeral. No reason not to, except dh didn't want to and I just wasted my time and didn't get ready.
She was 89 years old, and had the distinction of having the longest continuous membership in our church. Just a precious, special lady. She was a very attractive woman all of her life, and her inner beauty gave her a true light that made everyone who knew her love her. She was in the choir when dh and I married, and was one of the first people who made me feel "at home" in my new church. DS said at the funeral, our pastor told that she had written a check to the church on the day she died, and it was received yesterday, the day of her visitation.
I'm so glad I went to that luncheon one of the ladies had for our new pastor last summer, because she was there and that was the last time I talked with her. She had not been in church, except very occasionally, since we shut down for Covid.

(((Harmony)))... "not yet" --- bless your heart...
I have not made any resolutions this year. I am trying to exercise 3-4 times per week, and do better with more "intentional" Bible study.
I never drive without sunglasses either. DH NEVER wears sunglasses -- says they give him a headache! I don't know how he manages. I just cannot stand the sun glaring in my eyes. I rarely even go outside without them! (Of course, lately, we've had so much rain and clouds I haven't needed them, but I never get in the car without them, "just in case.")
-Thoughts aren’t facts and can be altered.
Boy... that's a good one too. I definitely need to remember that.
Tomorrow is another day.

I have had lunch after I rested.
Walked the ddog, she only wanted to do one block, so I came home, spiffed up after lunch,
cleaned the sinks in the kitchen, got some boxes in the trash, and spiffed the entryway.
Swept the kitchen & dining room.
Walked a bit more on my street and got my step goal in for today.
Had to put a load of wash in tonite.
Did the dishes after making up some deviled eggs.

After hearing of the oat meal family cookie recipe I am thinking how I can do a lower sugar version
of that with applesauce, not sure what else yet egg, butter, cinnamon some flour maybe some packets of stevia.

(((Hugs))) to all who need it.

ACK!!! That is the second post I have lost!!! This one will be super short because I don't want to risk losing it. My browser is just quitting!

Hi everyone,
Mantra from me: I deserve the same consideration as everyone else.

Reason: my visit home gave mom a chance to criticize my hair, clothes, and shoes the same way she has done for the past 50 years. Dementia is really affecting her filters because she added DD20 to her target list (same sins). Usually, she only criticizes DD to me (and blames me for it). She expects perfection in everyone around her, where she gets to define perfection and how you achieve it, which involves having your shoes, clothes, and hair exactly as she wants them. And she wants them to be exactly like all her friends' daughters and granddaughters. There are other things she expects too, but those get the relentless criticism because they are more visible. The sad thing is that I married someone just like her.

I found out yesterday I will need another foot surgery. It is scheduled for Feb 2. The MRI in December revealed another bone spur creating damage to soft tissue. The soft tissue may need repairs also. It must be done in the hospital rather than in-office. DD will be back at school so I will need a ride and a babysitter for 24 hours. I am going to ask the youth director at my church. I bet there is a broke teenager who would love an easy babysitting and chauffeur job.

I have figured out what is causing my browser to crash: whenever the spelling or grammar checking option is actually used, it quits.

Speaking of quitting, I am going to quit while I am ahead and before my browser crashes for a different reason.

Oh Elizabeth your mom sounds just like my dad and I did the same thing and married someone just like him.
My moms filters lost their ability to work too with my mom. Nothing you can do about that but I bet it was difficult when it was directed at your daughter

Hope otherwise you enjoyed you trip home.
