Compost, garbage and recycling are at the end of the driveway. The sun is shining here today. It has been overcast for a few days, so actually seeing the sun is nice.

No idea what we are having for supper tonight.

I went through my works in progress for cross stitch last night after I cleared the dirty dishes off the table. Found a few pieces of aida cloth to give to another cross stitching friend who is usually at the Thursday knitting group, so I already have that in my bag.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

Morning…

I keep telling myself this year just to keep things simple and breathe.

Have to get my return packages ready and then head to UPS and Kohl’s. Then I want to do more work on my office. Still have some calls to make and spend time working on my planner

Sweetie and I talked about putting cabinets in my laundry room and garage and both agree with what we want to do. Now n the hunt to find a company to do it.

I bought several shower curtains and have them hangin over the shower bar. Trying to figure out which on I like best. One is divided into halves with the top a beige color and the bottom has taupe thin stripes on it and wher they meet there are big 3” brown buttons on it. I sent a picture to my girlfriend to get her opinion. The other is beige with white piping running through it and fringe on the bottoms and along the sides.

I knew which one I like, but wanted to ask my friend because she was an interior designer in her younger years. She agreed with my choice. Then I asked Sweetie which one he liked and he chose the plain on. When I asked him why he didn’t like the one with the buttons he said it reminded him of some thing a circus clown on stilts would wear. I laughed so hard I had tears running down my face. He said he wanted to stand on a stool behind the curtain with his head showing to prove his point.

I told my friend … who Sweetie adores… and she laughed and said she had to agree with him. The curtain is only partially opened, but I think once it’s hung correctly it will look ok.

Waving to y’all… off to start my day. Make it a good one :D

I need some positivity today. Yesterday was not a great day. Last night at dinner, when I needed some calm, dh had had a busy stressful day himself apparently, so he seemed pretty abrasive. I did tell him I need him to get the dog out in the morning to potty (whether a walk or take her out to the yard) so I don't get up needing to walk her before coffee. He's up hours earlier than I am.

I think I have getting the car serviced worked out - taking it tomorrow a.m. and dcleaning lady will come today, mid day orw
Today I need to "clean for the cleaning lady" but it's nice she's coming later. And I'm going to do instacart for groceries - in part because the ck engine light is on, and also because I just don't want to go out. And I'll get some time upstairs too.

I'm setting the scene for a better day, I hope. Having my house clean (when I didn't do it) will be a plus and a day at home will be wonderful.

and another positive thought:
I keep telling myself this year just to keep things simple and breathe.
Also thinking and worrying about Mr. Dee and Mr. Bw2 today and families today.

Thanks, Twins. Mr Dee seemed a little better this morning. DS-R arrived here around 8 last night and spent the night. He's now gone over to Dbil's. Mr Dee seemed better then but I see he's already gone back to bed. We plan to go see his DB shortly. Our pastor called this morning and changed his time from 11:30am to 1:30pm. So we'll take advantage of that time (as soon as dh gets up again) to go across town. That'll give him a little time to rest when we come back.

I finally lost it last night after the umpteenth time that dsonil complained about having to take dbil's niece to the airport this morning. Sure dsonil won't be speaking to me any time soon. I did apologize later saying I was under so much stress and he didn't answer me. He is one to mightily hold a grudge so am not surprised. Hopefully we'll all start calming down pretty soon. Dsonil has gone to Orlando for today and tomorrow for a conference so that's probably a good thing.

I have the house pretty well picked up. So will go see if dh is anywhere near ready to leave. Hate making him do much of anything.

Twins - Thanks for the start and affirmations.
I can expand my comfort zone.
I don't remember ever seeing this affirmation. I like it and it puts into words what I want to do.

My day is stacked with one event upon another.

I have already taken DD11 to school and she was launched with a smile on her face.

I will get DS14 started on his homeschool assignments before I leave. DS14 and DH will team up to do two of the subjects (Spanish & reading)

I will drive 30 minutes in one direction to drop off Micro at the groomer.

Then drive in the opposite direction to the city. I will pick up a prescription for DH on my way to DGS25 apartment. DGS25 has asked me to eat lunch with him. He loves to cook and enjoys sharing and showing his skills. After lunch we are going to a couple of appointments with the realtor to view apartments that he is considering moving to next month. When all that is done then I will drive to pick up Micro from groomer before returning home this evening.
Stay curious. Challenge assumptions. Success loves persistence.

I especially like these:
-I can expand my comfort zone.
-Thoughts aren’t facts and can be altered.

This morning driving out by myself into glaring sun was a little stressful. Then no parking spaces at medical facility but eventually one appeared. At door of the office for blood draw I had to get very close to read their signs on their door, on typing paper with lots of explanation. And had a hard time getting their door open. Thankfully, I had a real break in traffic to get across the busy street and the other office was empty except for secretary - no problem. All of this would have been so much more confident with HRH. But it was ultimately fine. He'll be with me this afternoon.

I definitely didn't get enough sleep but not sure if I really need any more today.

I did make a big Instant Pot meal yesterday afternoon, adding extra sweet potatoes to use them up. and it was delicious. Those leftovers will be enjoyed for a couple days!

Am hopeful to get to come back and check for any more updates about Mr. DeeClutter and blessed's dh!
Oh, there is Dee! So glad he's feeling a little better and hope everyone can calm down, yes.

And then laughing because now here is LadyM, also liking the same one I liked. It meant something to me this a.m., I think, because I had needed to feel confident with my eye(s) and actually had done fine in a "shiny morning" situation. If anyone had to wait on me to read door signs, well, I simply appeared ladylike and thoughtful. Yep, I'm going with that!

Good morning everybody. Twins, I love those affirmations.

I watched a podcast about resolutions and he said people get way too specific about the little details and that's why they usually fail. He said we should be more concerned about our trends to improve. So, what I've done this year is I've written out what I'd like to accomplish and shortened it and that statement I've been putting on the top of each planner page. Mine for the year: continue to pray and read, eat better, and move more. Short and sweet and if I did these I'd have a pretty good year! We'll see. I don't (or I try not to) beat myself up for my failings.

But something around here has me unsettled. I'm sure it has to do with DH's problems with this job he's trying to do. He's having a lot of trouble getting it off top dead center. Engineer problems to begin with, and still has no stamped plan and no permit. It all makes me very stressed. Yesterday he cleaned (well sorted and moved around) stuff in his shop so he'll be able to pull his big truck in out of the driveway. I told him I thought he was going to empty his truck to sell all the stuff..... and he says not yet. So he's backed off on paring down and closing the company. Spreadsheet work shows we lost $7,000 keeping the company open this past year. When he said that about his truck and stuff, I told him how the bookkeeping turned out...and he just doesn't understand. I will have to write it all out for him. Now I know maybe a couple thousand we would have done even if there wasn't a company involved (cell phones and internet) and that makes it a loss of around $5,000, but still, that's way too much to lose every year. We can't have company expenses with no income, and he's unable to do much work.

And I'm procrastinating on a couple projects... and I need to declutter a couple spaces which will make me happier...

So, with that said, off I go to see what I can accomplish. Paid a big supply bill (from this job he's doing) but can't put it in the mailbox because there's all kinds of strange people working across the street picking up rubble they missed first time around. ...sigh everything feels like it's on hold around here.

Harriet, I never drive without sunglasses. The glare from the Florida sun is brutal here and since my cataract operations I can't keep my eyes open in bright sunlight. Heading south along our major road here is straight into the sun. On the way home day after Christmas my glasses fell between the seats and the ear piece broke. I bought another pair as quick as I could. Bad thing is inside the car I can't read anything with them on... I need a chauffeur!

((Harmony)) It sure would be good for you to get it all shut down and done. Hoping he'll see the light, and the profit and loss side. And your comments about resolutions are excellent also. The advice is often to "Be as specific as possible," i.e. "I'll lose five pounds this month." And if that fails it all goes by the wayside. It is a process and trends are important.

I've walked the dog three laps and I just had breakfast. I did an instacart order for delivery this afternoon and already added a few things to it. I rarely remember everything the first time.

Cleaning lady will be here soon. I have things pulled together but need to put the vacuum cleaner back together. Last week I took apart and cleaned filters and left outside to dry and then it all got wet. So I hope I didn't damage the motor either. I think it's all dry now.

The affirmation about expanding my comfort zone speaks to me too. My comfort zone has been shrunken by the pandemic, and portfolio focus, and also losing our last dog Muffin. So I think that I need to expand to deal with a dog again, and to not get so overwhelmed by people perhaps. One of my issues yesterday was the dog needing to go out first thing (at least in my mind.)
