Good afternoon!

I need to write things down to turn my piles into lists. For example, I have a stack that has clothes to be returned, papers to file, an accordion file that I need to put away, receipts that I need to deal with and throw away… and the notepad I need to write this all down on.

I’ve already gotten my lollygagging in today —dozed off in my chair again — but this time, I did it semi-deliberately, setting a timer, which I actually woke up slightly before. I have gotten some laundry done, so I haven’t been entirely unproductive.

Time to go attack that pile! Have a good one, everybody!

Home from grocery and cleaners. I dropped dh's sweater on the way out to the car so I didn't have it to drop off. It was slightly damp - we're getting a little mist - so I laid it flat to dry until I go later in the week. Perhaps I'll try to go tomorrow, they do have a drive through so I won't have to get out of car.

I have my steps in for today but may walk a lap with dfriend M and R uby if weather holds.

Heading upstairs for a little while. I have scallops thawing in the refrigerator.

I’m back from all my errands and just finished eating a late lunch.

When I got to the bank it was swarmed with cop cars and cops both in and out of the bank. Seems a group of guys had tried to rob the bank. Never got inside as the bank guard was able to deter them. Lots of excitement inside the bank watching the cops talking to the witnesses. Glad I missed the robbery part!

I still have plenty to put away. My refrigerator looks like a produce store on the inside. All
My groceries have been put away, but I still have things from target and the dollar store to deal with. Hoping to get a second wind.

Got all my steps in though which is good. May set my timer a shut my eye sinkers for a few. Thinking of Dee and her dh as well as Blessed and hers

I made a very late-in-the-day (for us) decision to make butter chicken for supper. Defrosted the chicken in a sink full of cold water for an hour and then straight into the crock pot for 3 hours. Now I just have to heat up a packet of Mutter Paneer and boil some Jasmine rice.

hello

dh was sitting today - its amazing what a couple days can do. We are just taking it for today! he still has pneumonia and the other things but his need for oxygen is going down. He is still a bit confused but he is smiling. he still has to have his heart taken care of but that's on hold until the pneumonia is no longer there. His cancer is a question. I am not thinking about that right now.

my house exploded - the combination of dogs, all of us at the hospital, me being sick etc. things just blew up. it looks overwhelming and feels overwhelming. I just have to remember that every baby step is a good thing.
I hired the cleaning ladies for tomorrow and as I am in the front room and that it has been 5 days - I am wearing a mask they can come. Actually I am upset that the company said even if the clients have covid the crew still comes.

I just wanted to say hello to you!!!
it is always a joy to be here with you!

I have kept up with my hourly step goal but otherwise I relaxed this afternoon.

I made a double pan of mac & cheese to take to the soup potluck tonight. I intentionally made a kid favorite dish because many of the children won't eat soup.

DD11 is home from school and chatted with me about her day. I don't take that for granted and always try to stop whatever I'm doing and give her my attention.

(((Blessed)))
And (((Dee)))
-- Keeping you both in prayer.

Re: today's topic... writing it down is never my problem. Oh, I LOVE to write it down.  I just don't love to DO it.
Today's TOP FIVE:
[x] type church minutes (and emailed to all concerned)
[ ] water plants
[x] keep dgrands while ds/ddil go to chiropractor
[x] church
[/] take down Christmas (baby steps… cleared mantle of cards & stockings, window candles, misc… stuff is mostly consolidated to dining room. Will get boxes out tomorrow.)
I also had to add a few...
[ ] wash the dishes I never took care of after supper last night. Lots of dishes.
[x] update teacher group reminders (email & FB) because a member sent me additional info
[x] pick up dmom's rx at drug store (her request) and the footed cane she thought she left at the beauty shop,
* but which she actually left in the parking lot of the beauty shop and apparently drove over. It is warped and basically unusable now. Sigh. Also found out she left the ham I delivered to her last night out overnight. Another sigh. She doesn't think it has gone bad -- it was fully cooked baked ham, I think. She only has about half a qt size bag, but I hope she doesn't eat bad ham.
[ ] wash the dishes I never took care of after supper last night. Lots of dishes.

I guess I was sorta mentally exhausted after dealing with dmom, came home, ate a poptart -- which made me sleepy -- and vegged out in the recliner until dgrands arrived.

Hello, not sure how great a day I'm having. Could be better.

First thing early I had a dr. appointment. She's moved into another space because the building she's in as part of their big complex is damaged from the hurricane. So I looked it up online and new office is in a place I recognized and today had no trouble finding it. Interesting spot. Those little buildings are on property that have a real history to our area. The family that originally owned a good bit of the land which is now our town used to live there. The developer built little buildings in their homestead place. I doubt many people recognized where their doctors are now. Anyway, got negative results from yesterday's mammogram, lab results with some better and some needing some work, and an ekg which she said was ok. So, nothing to really worry about.

I got some things at the store on the way home. Found some cooking things I was out of at home and now we're stocked up and I can cook a bunch of stuff now. If I feel like it.

So presently I'm about as upset as I can be. DH has brought home an old l-o-n-g canoe he found laying somewhere and it has no back end on it...("oh I can put one on it") and we had a huge conversation when he asked if I wanted a picnic table on the back porch and we'd put the round table on the front porch..... We're supposed to be downsizing. Does this sound like downsizing? And today I look out and he has picked up a big round table somewhere and put it out front. I think this is all in some sort of control thing against me or against the idea that he can't do this work any more... and of course I'm the enemy because he knows I don't want him trying to work like this...

Anyway, I have cleaned out the rest of my master closet...stuff that's been bugging me, that's the last of it out to the can. I have all the boxes out to put Christmas away. I'll work on that this evening.

LadyM, I agree with your lollygagging thought. I've read a lot about whether there really is such a thing as "lazy" or if it is often that we have a lot to think about and benefit from "daydreaming". I believe that makes sense, for instance wondering what we really want before a purchase, rather than just hurrying to accomplish purchasing, etc. That's a simple example compared to some.

Yes, lucylee, it does always seem enjoyable writing it down. It's like sweeping or mowing, I think. Neatly containing. Neatly contained chore plans, swept into our record-keeping where we can see what we've done and need to do. Yes, also, the checking-off is separate, lol.

blessed, I'm so glad your dh is sitting up and you can see a difference for him over a few days.

Today I potted up the smaller baby of the original violet, plus separated and potted the babies of the longest-producing leaf. Surprisingly, there only turned out to be two of those babies, intertwined so that it looked like more. But that's fine with me - each one stronger, then, and taking up less windowsill than I thought. I repotted the leaf again after cutting the stem a new cut. Supposedly, this still works a second time and I'm interested to see.

These were potted into repurposed Ac tivia yogurt cups the young man brought me, which have a lot of depth. My favorite yogurt is Silk Almond chocolate :) but those containers are wide and shallower. Pudding cups are also helpful for tiny plants.

Happy Ramblin' knows only this much about the bank robbery.

Happy for Harmony's good ol' ordinary news from dr.

Canoe without a back end... .. cut the back flush, turn upright and put in shelves for a freestanding bookcase? I mean, if you need a bookcase. I definitely think it would be safer as a bookcase.

So I had to go searching for canoe bookcases, then, because, you know, lollygagging. This is a nice example someone made a couple years ago. It says, "For Sale, Male Offer" I'm sure they were very proud, but I don't think I would have traded my male for it.
