Goodness, it's slow go around here today for me...

Just wanted to check in and say hello to everyone.

Catwoman as described by Nancy would be easy, LadyM. Otherwise, I might just try to find a Superman t-shirt or something like that. I was always very lazy about dress up days, rarely did it myself and ds hated it. DGS hates it. DGD, OTOH, really gets into it. DDIL always has her in something cute.
Tomorrow is another day.

I was never great at those dress up days either, except for the time I felt aced the Dr. Seuss day. I made ds a T-shirt "___ I am," and he was (and still is!)

I've knocked out a nice chunk of errands - gonna play ta da:
-target return, plus got to walk through target
-battery for ceiling remote
-car wash, including vacuuming and using armor all on visible areas - we're using my car this weekend.
-then to mall area re: sunglasses, which it turns out had NO correction for close vision. They will order new bifocal lenses and let me know when they come in.

and home again. While dcleaning lady was working earlier, I also go glass ready to go to recycle and shred ready to go to UPS store, but hated to clutter up my car with those while I was trying to vacuum.

Right now this ddog wants a walk, so I guess that's up next.

I was feeling like I might load up the car and to go recycle and UPS store, but OTOH I might nap later!

Mystery, the webinar is next week, daily from 10:30 to 6. Last night was orientation only! The syllabus is weighty to say the least.

hello d Lucy, d harriet, d Kathryn, d twins, d mystery, d dee, d cathy, d harmony, d lady, and d all!

a temporary answer from my d brother regarding d mom. My d brother needs to come back bc of taxes etc. He has been in Florida for 20 days not including all the days he was there for dd younger to come home for thanksgiving and Christmas and for 10 days for helping after the airports opened after the hurricane. He has set it up that a friends daughter to stay with d mom for 2 weeks. Dd younger is going to go back once dh is in the rehab facility. What a relief for all of us!

having fruit and some cottage cheese for lunch.

I am tired.

so far
emptied dw - filled and turned on dw again: I think I am going to put a sign up - please rinse your dishes and put them to the side (for the evening).
dd older flip flopped laundry

I pulled out the recipe for whole wheat scones that I hope to make later.

ta ta for now!
it is always a joy to be here with you!

Blessed, I know you must be exhausted! I'm so glad your dbro found someone to fill in till your dd returns to help your dmom.
My goodness, it's hard when more than one family member needs help! I know I can kinda manage dmom IF everything is okay with dh... and I can manage dh IF dmom is doing good, self-sufficient, etc... but when I feel both of them need me... * whew *
LOL -- but really kinda seriously -- If I were you, I might put a sign on my bedroom door: DO NOT DISTURB EXCEPT IN CASE OF EMERGENCY. Then I would hide out in there and take a nap till some one just HAD TO have my input!
(((BIG HUGS)))

I am having my mid-afternoon sugar-rush slump. I know this is a habit (eating poorly) and yet I cannot seem to break it!
Go to post office -- heat up a pop-tart -- read the paper -- ugh = Sugar slump.
Well, I guess the solution is STOP BUYING POP-TARTS... but I have myself convinced that I "need" them because the dgrands like them. This is not completely true. I eat waaay more than they do.

Oh -- speaking of dgrands, and the school talk earlier -- there seems to be a "thing" going around locally. Wednesday, the high school reported a message in the restroom, written in one of the stalls: "This school will be shot up tomorrow." Nothing happened. Then yesterday, the same message appeared at the middle school (where dgs is). So... again, school board issues a message, "Proper authorities have been notified and extra precautions will be taken, although threat does not appear to be credible." Still, puts you on edge a bit... you always think, well, this is such a quiet little town, nothing ever happens here... and then you realize that just about EVERYWHERE it happens, that is EXACTLY what people say. Sigh.
So sad that we have to even think about these things in schools today.

I may take a nap before dgd arrives later this evening. After that, my weekend is consumed with about 48 hours of Nana-duty culminating with Sunday's usual craziness of errands and trash day prep and all that stuff. I am really not crazy about the weekends, although I love dgrands more than life itself. It's just the "constant-ness" of it, after 12 hours or so, you know? DS is home this weekend, but dgrands want to be here regardless, so Friday night is her night; Saturday night is his. Sunday afternoons, I usually have them both, and Sunday nights we eat supper with them and ds, if he is home.
Tomorrow is another day.

it's true d Lucy how we can go along with one person needing us full time but when you add multiple needs it can be a lot! I still think I need a contract from everyone so that they are not allowed to get sick or big issues from now on. :D

I understand that sugar rush slump!!! I don't think it's food as much as a need for siesta time - for me siesta time would last until 6 :D :D :D

How sad that a teen would feel that this is funny. It is not. What troubles that child must be going through to think that was funny. It's so scary. Hope they find out who is the culprit(s).

I hope the nap will give you the energy of 12 young moms!

hi d twins yay on having a chunk of errands done.
have a lovely walk with d dog.

hi d Nancy br. 27 degrees - I don't know where we are at now but today we are above freezing.
yay on enjoying the sunrise!

hi d mystery I still have a P & P copy of the first book - I have bought them over the years as I borrowed them out or they fell apart. I still enjoy it.
I love a good pound cake! enjoy making it!

hello d Cathy, I hope you have a better night sleep
wow great job on those floors!
mmm black berry ice cream sounds wonderful - what type of ice cream maker do you have?

hello d lady - how wonderful that you had such a nice night sleep
oh my gosh - I remember those nights of staying up the whole night with friends.
sounds like your dd is looking forward to the daily theme this week.
best wishes on your therapy infusion today.

I can't go back to read d Harriets, or d Kathryn's posts - hope you have a wonderful day

hi d harmony.

dh is having a ct of his abdomen today to see if the cancer spread.(I just found out what it is for) Geesh - I want to have a break from news but that doesn't help; I haven't told dh yet what the test is for as I am not there right now and texting him would be overwhelming to him. I will talk to him after the test. praying that the cancer hasn't spread.
I never thought about it spreading!

I can't believe it but I was able to wash another load of dishes - girls brought down their dishes.
Not being home makes the house messier.

Next right thing:
clean the cat litter for the cats.
get rid of the recycling
bring the garbage cans in
feed the birds.

Home from a successful trip to the city.
** #9 evenity treatment is done.
** lunch with DH and DD11
** picked up prescriptions from pharmacy
** bought items on pantry restock list
** found neon clothes for DD11. whooHooo! Hunting season is over so all the neon clothes were marked down to $5 each!

THANK YOU for the ideas for Superhero dress up day. I shared them with DD11 and she is considering them. She told me this morning that she wants to be Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle but that seems overwhelming hard with no costume. I immediately nixed the idea to paint herself green. She has items to dress up for 3 of the days so I'm counting theme week a success regardless of how the Superhero Day turns out.

I am waiting for her to decide if she wants to attend the Father Daughter Dance at school in Feb. This is a little bit uncomfortable since she hasn't seen or heard from her biological father since she was a toddler. If DD11 decides to attend the dance, then we need to get fancy clothes for her and DH.
Stay curious. Challenge assumptions. Success loves persistence.

Hoping I can find the energy to at least post a little bit. Dh and I both seem to be incredibly tired today. I snoozed off and on and right through dinner and so did dh. So dd and dsonil went ahead and ate theirs. We ate later. We're both heading to bed now and it's only 7 o'clock.

Dh and I took dsonil to pick up his VW (not repaired) this morning and then went on to the cardiologist's office. Had a good appointment with the PA. She gave me a little insight to trying something with one of his meds after he's been up a while and seeing if his BP is down. Last night I took it twice: 84/50 and 80/54. Way too low. He's definitely walked more today than any other day in weeks. But he's more than ready to hit the hay. Home care came this afternoon. Which was almost a waste as it was all the same questions gal had last week when she came, then took his vitals (which of course were taken this morning already). PT called tonight and are coming tomorrow between 3 & 4. We're really looking forward to that and hopefully they'll have some good suggestions for working on dh's return of strength and stamina. He's just so incredulous that he's using a walker at this point. He's always been so robust and able to push through anything. Not happening this go round.

Dh has his first appointment with the Primary here on Tuesday morning. Home Care will be here again on Monday. I tried to make his appointment with the one Dr here who administers the "camera pill". Told me: April. We talked about the hospital wanting follow-up appointment for internal bleeding within 2 weeks. So she'll talk with the actual people who do the procedure but can't until Monday or Tuesday. Said group leaves at noon on Fridays.

Wednesday dh has an appointment to get his hair cut and a pedicure. We'll see how well he does with all that. Have a 2nd appointment with the cardiologist March 17th -then I think he sees his own up home April 23rd. Reminds me I have to check to make sure our insurance will cover this "pill" doctor. So I'm off to do that before bed. Have a great night, friends!
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Thanks for the updates, Blessed and Dee. It helps us focus our thoughts and prayers.

I made it through the day. I'm ready for sleep but I'm letting dgs6 fall asleep before going back into our bedroom. He and dh watched a video together before bed while I did the last of the tidying up and resetting toys.

Dd had a wonderful time with dgs1.8. He would run after her when she left a room and sobbed at the door when she was going to the bathroom. He also cried when she and dgd left. He went to bed early because he was so tired. That gave me time to read to dgs6 a bit before dh got back from driving the others home.

Ds's flight to NS left 3 hours late which means he lost 3 working hours with dfs. They have projects they are hoping to work on this weekend.

Uhoh, I'm hearing the toddler making noise. Hopefully he can settle himself.
