Home from a successful trip to the city. I added buying some carbonated beverages and doing a porch drop off at DD46 home. She is home alone and sick.

I am going to take 30 minutes of having my feet up and then get started on the rest of my day.

Accomplished nothing of importance today. Brain is dancing around like a butterfly. Made hair appointments.

When DH gets home, he will take DD downtown, where she will stay the night with friends. Her therapist suggested she see some people IRL. Who’d’a thunk?

Need to remember to ask DH about getting the stove and fridge. My DB checked the circuit the stove is on, and he assures us there is nothing wrong with it. I forgot about DH’s getting zapped when fixing the sink until after DB had gone home, so he didn’t check them but feels the problem is likely with the dishwasher or garbage disposal. At any rate, there’s nothing wrong with the outlets for the stove and refrigerator. I would like to have quantities of fresh produce and dairy again and to bake/roast in something larger than a toaster oven. I don’t know where the paperwork from the appliance store is, though, and I’m not sure DH does, either.

Hugs to all of you!

I have to admit I am temporarily overwhelmed.(paralysis ADHD moment) I know I just have to break things down into manageable parts.
I am going to put on the stop watch and see how long it actually takes to do the next steps that I need to do!

Next empty dw
I have a whole load left to do!!! dinner is made and in the fridge for tonight.
I still have to go to the store for dh, and visit dh. we are having snow right now.

d harriet - I had to explain to dd older that I was a little down for a bit and it was okay as I know it's not forever and that it's so important for me to feel what I need to feel in the moment. It is okay not to chipper!
You will brighten up when you are ready! :D

hi d Nancy!!!
hi d Kathryn!!! glad you are still alive! :D
hi d rose!!!
hi d mystery!!! it sounds like your brain must know my brain. My dd's say that I have the light of a thousand fairies!

Just spit balling here, but is possible to have a hinged surface come down over top of your surfaces in the room?

I can see what I'm thinking of clearly in my head but am not sure I can put it into words.

It would be a big board, say 3' x 5', hinged to fold up and attach to the wall by some means (hook & eye, fancy heavy duty magnet?) It would come down like a murphy bed but either have fold-out legs or just chains that hold it to the wall. It would be mounted so that it comes down over shorter furniture. You'd have to finish the sorting each time because the room would be unusable for anything else when it is down. That is a both a feature (must finish task before doing anything else!) and a disadvantage (must finish task before doing anything else!)

This is, of course, predicated on the other furniture being able to fit under the board when you are working at standing height. And having a big enough wall in the room that isn't broken up by a closet, window, or door in the centre of the only acceptable wall.

I finished the edits and sent the doc back for final approval. If I submit the project today, the booklets arrive on Feb 8th. I need them for Feb 12th. If I submit tomorrow, I don't know if that means the 9th or the 10 or even 13th because of the weekend. For 30% more in price I can put a rush on the project and get it here 2 days earlier. I'm considering that as an 'idiot-tax' on myself. Penance for my procrastination all these years.

Dh has gone to run an errand at Walmart. He was also going to check out the hospital bed rental place and I wanted to go with him, so he called ahead while I worked, and discovered they have none available right now. Which had been a concern of mine. So we might end up back with last minute buying a bed (basically the same price as a rental.)

Anyway, since he's not going to see them after all, I decided to stay home. I'm going to do some walking around the building since I've been sitting almost all day and feel worse for it. If I turn data on my phone, I'll get a notification if the doc is approved and can come back up and submit it to the printers.

Kathryn, I'm not expressing myself well. I meant that in order to do this current organizing job of finding storage for everything in the room, I wish I had another room-space beside it, or something, where I could just move over and sort, then bring back. I am seriously considering carrying things to my bed and laying them out on a sheet. That may work, but only for small items like organizing drawers better. It has dawned on me that I have two leg-spaces and I sit at one almost exclusively. I could just stop using the other, turn/fill it into storage, and see it if either gives me an epiphany on the rest of the room, or just needs to stay that way. The whole time we've lived here, no one has worked along with me in this space. The boys go to HRH's office sometimes, but not mine.

The most boring speaker ever - why in the next to last session on Friday afternoon? He knows his stuff - I've been in several classes he's taught and coordinated, but oh my, he just drones on. (UGH, now he says....since I have a little time....)

Dh is home - went to Costco and is watching TV downstairs now. I had to close door because downstairs TV is loud, especially with the droning I'm listening to. I told dh I'd stop around five and get ready for temple. I really really could use a nap right now.

Just reading through and trying to get enough energy to really do something. I was supposed to call a friend from up north 1:30/2ish but fell asleep until nearly 3:30 and knew she had a 'date' at 5 so begged off till tomorrow. I simply couldn't bring myself to talk to anyone right now.

Dh and I went out to get him iron pills and have a diagnostic run on our car (engine light is still on). Stopped by W endy's as he wanted something to eat/drink -and of course he barely ate it. One niece from CA called while we were there wanting to come for dbil's memorial service. I feel like I'm being an absolutely horrible person as I really don't want to deal with her and her sister or two coming here. Feels like it's just that much more to deal with while they're here -to say nothing of finding them a place to stay, feeding, etc plus get them to/from the airport and all that entails. She wanted to stay here but our 2 DS, 1 wife and DGS18 + their dog are coming here. So she said they’d just stay at Dbil’s house. Not sure that’s a viable solution either as we’d have to get it ready for ‘staying company’. I feel like I’m at a breaking point right now. I’ll be back DD is home.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!
