Had my day planned, then boom it took off in a different direction
Here too!

The fence construction crew are digging post holes with 3 point auger on a tractor. They were making timely progress until they hit a 1" water line that we had no idea existed. Argh! Our home has been built onto 6 times and apparently one of those times they decided to add another main line running from the meter to the house. Anyway, the water is turned off to our house while we wait for the plumber to fix it. Thankfully he is coming after lunch so it should only be a couple hour delay on the fence project.

We can't leave to take DS14 out to eat today so I got him fast food and we will do the special luncheon another day.

Dh will most likely be here another day. Bacteria is E. coli (forgot to ask which strain) and they will send him home with antibiotics to continue. I was hoping, and asked, about getting out of this unit which is post surgical with cubes and curtains. Sure would be quieter and have more room. This is cramped.

Water line is fixed. Waiting 10 minutes to let the glue dry before turning water back on to the house.

The fence contractor is back at work.

I forgot about taking hourly doses of Vit C to stop the nose dripping. BAM! It works better than any of the OTC meds I've taken the last 5 days. I am making a note of this on yearly spreadsheet so I will see it next Feb.

Hello. I was thinking we'd had quite the adventure today until I read Dee's tale. I have sat and prayed that all the nurses, doctors, office personnel behind the scenes would do their jobs quickly and turn in all their paperwork so you can get DH home in order to do that long-awaited camera test tomorrow, that insurance people would ok that test right now too!

I hate indecision. I need a plan I can work with, so I can just follow my time tables and plans and not worry about stuff. Dee, I have no idea how you are managing with all this. I would be a basket case.

Twins, too, waiting to learn if DH will be coming home.
And then there is blessed awaiting supplies to arrive so she can bring DH home.

Everything here seems to take a long time... like we're all moving through seas of molasses or something. Since the hurricane, everything is doubly slow. Noticed while we were driving home that the RV that has been laying on it's back in the median since the hurricane has finally been righted and removed to who knows where. It was one of those great big ones, the size of a big bus.

So, we had our adventure today. I went with DH to his ankle bone doctor, saw the assistant, the nurse, and then the doctor. Xrays taken, dr. said it looked good. We talked about upcoming knee surgery (when?) and find out it will straighten things out a bit (he looked at the knee and said it was way overdue) and that straightening will make the foot wrong and then that might have to be operated on to straighten also. Sigh.... I talked to Dr. about why his foot rolls and what could he do about that, and he suggested a custom orthotic for his shoe which I thought was a great idea. Sent us upstairs for a computerized mapping of the foot so they could make it.... but before they did that DH decided he didn't want to put the $250 into doing all that. sigh.....

DH cuts the heels of his shoes and puts a wood wedge in there and a metal strap on the outside and that does keep it from rolling so badly...but it's certainly not custom and not pretty...but he said as long as he can do this for free, he's not buying a custom one.

From there we went up to the VA clinic audio dept where we actually saw a dr. He determined the charger had a crack in it, and one of the old wires was detached inside (normal wear and tear) so they were cleaned and the wire fixed and the wire reattached. We got a new charger and brought it home to try. If it's still problematic, we have a box with a label to return to manufacturer to put new batteries in. Fingers crossed. Seems to be working now.

Noticed a sub shop a block away, so went there for lunch before coming home. Traffic was awful coming home, heavy going down but way worse on the way back. I'm glad to be here, relaxing for a bit.

LadyM, you guys are doing a wonderful parenting job with the little ones. I always think how much better off they are with you.

Hi everyone! Prayers have been sent up for those hospitalized, soon to be hospitalized, and recently released from hospital (my brother).

I am back at work, working from home. Good report on foot this morning. Windy & grey here. If I get any snow I will mail it to those who want it.

I have a new bed. The previous was 30 yo. My yard has been cleared, trimmed, and trees removed. I need to watch out for lifestyle creep associated with new salary. But is it lifestyle creep when you take care of things postponed for years due to lack of funds? The trees were going to damage the fence.

Hmmm... is blessed's dh home or still awaiting something more? I got in my head he was there with her, but I may have been anticipating to the beat of a different drummer.

Twins', I hope this is the start of a calm week now for you and dh. Time for resting and recuperating.

Elizabeth must have been taking good care of her foot.

I played on ds' driveway with his kids. Had fun. Took a bag of stuff over. Chocolates and hot wheels from HRH, the newly mended stuffed animal and Valentine's bandaids from me. DgdC was already hurt from a scrape on her finger, so she opened the bandaids and used one immediately. I suppose she sealed any bacteria right in there. But her mom was watching all of this and so if it needs more, the medical attention will be there.

DgdC was disappointed that her dad has a meeting back at work tonight, where he'll make a speech promoting new captains. She likes him home, she says, which makes me happy to hear. He had just finished polishing his shoes, looked very snappy.

Dd24 called and wants to come see us tomorrow, might drive me to an appt. She is considering a job change for more money and better benefits. An old design firm with a solid base of customers rather than a trendy city Gallery. So, it's within her major, though not exactly where the heart's desire might be. Still, her potential boss seems an eccentric lady with ideas popping all the time, so that would be a match, lol.

2 more small loads of laundry done. I made a skillet meal for supper.

Like Ramblin', I feel tired and ready for bed. G'nite sweet friends, until it be morrow. Something, something, Shakespeare, something... .. zzzzz zzz

Hi again. I have determined that American citizens do not need visas for my May cruise and messaged traveling companion friend (TCF). I am not sure if TCF is Italian, American, or dual, but I was clear about the info referring to US citizens. We still need to talk about pre-paid service charges (yes, please!) and flights. It would be ideal if my flight went to Orlando and we both went from there. She lives in Orlando, but is visiting family in Italy right now.

I cannot get to music lessons until 3/20, but am hoping to have a song learned by then. I did not practice at all last week due to possible pressure on my foot. I am getting back into it. I still suck though. Obviously, I am not doing any dancing. I will look up a chair based workout. Still need to eat dinner but nothing appeals to me. Maybe a workout will make me hungry.

I have reserved all but one of the RV club trips I will be going on. I have not decided on June due to cruise in May then family camping in July for at least a week.

ETA: Did a chair yoga workout. Was that wise? Don't know yet. I did keep the boot on. Food still has no appeal despite knowing I need more protein for recovery. I ate all my fried rice. Maybe I should make some more.
