About to start work on the will questionaire we need to complete before we meet with a lawyer, so this is a quick post.

Dh had the results before he left the hospital yesterday. No blockage at all, no signs of any problems. It is just the bad valve so the recommendation from the cardiologist to the surgeon is re-repair/replace the damaged valve. Dh talked to the cardiologist yesterday and asked who was to cancel the mid-March CT scan (which the angiogram replaced) and the cardiologist said he'd remind the surgeon to cancel it and that gives him a chance to remind the surgeon that dh should get in as fast as possible. (He's been great about trying to get dh to Africa in June.)

We did the book fair this morning and then went out for breakfast. The day is dragging for dh because he normally has hours and hours of exercise to fill up his mornings and he can't do any of it for a couple of days.

K in C your mention of book fair reminds me I have a book to add to the pile in the rig for the library book sale in March.

I did some art with holly on planner pages for Cmas prep. tracking. These are ready to ink now with some others.
I am glad to have some food in the fridge for meals, got out fruit to thaw for the birds.

A pretty low key day glad bc I need one and it is still too cold to enjoy being out of the house anyway except a quick trip
to the mail box for junk!

Taking a break and eating lunch

Steadfast. Hmmm I am steadfastly against fixing this old pump. DH is steadfastly stubborn that he can do that. Which means waiting for parts, installing, checking everything else on it, and assuming it will be a good working pump for another 15 years. Hmmm I don't think so. Let's start with another good brand new pump, which we have in a box waiting. DH is steadfast, I am too, and he always wins any fights around here so I am taking a break from helping for the moment. I. Just. Can't.

We did redo the wiring that burned on the outside (just temporary fix so far) and plugged it in and it runs. Well. Does the fact that I think it is excessively noisy have any bearing on these decisions? I steadfastly think it does. And the question about what made the wire burn is another factor not being addressed by the king of the house right now.

When I got up DH was sound asleep in his chair. He is as worn out as I am over all this. And he is out there doing something and my not being out there makes the situation more dangerous. sigh....

I did our big statement earlier but missed the mail lady. At least it's done for the month.

Onward. To something. LadyM, we have a couple tanks. The first one is solids. Liquids drain into the 2nd tank where the pump is which takes them into the leach field underground. So I'm not messing with solids...though we know where that water comes from, sinks, washing machine, and yes commodes. So we know it's not pristine, but I'm not making mud pies.

Yes, there are lots of septic companies around. DH, the king-in-charge of all things mechanical within his sphere of influence, thinks this is within his job description. Workaholics are like that.

Glad Kathryn and Ken are both home. Yes, boredom. What is it about men that they can't accept anything that disrupts their schedule?

And Harriet, wow I've never seen you up that late. Hope tonight is better.

I am done for the day… got everything finished on my list and then some.

Freddie’s in his new/old home. When I first got Fred, I kept him in a big bowl. I had him in the middle of my kitchen island and we could watch him swim while we ate. Then I got the brilliant idea to buy a 5 gallon aquarium which had a filter and a heater. We never saw Fred because he stayed either behind the heater or filter.’plus he didn’t seem to be doing much swimming.

So I decided to put Fred back in his bowl. We’ll see how that goes. I did notice that his tail which was a brilliant color of blue with white tips is looking very puny, which makes me wonder if he was very happy in the aquarium. Plus I noticed he wasn’t eating much. Hopefully this change is for the good.

I’m about to find out who done it and why, though I have my guesses :lol:m

It's been raining here steadily and I took a mega nap. It must have been needed because I slept and slept and do feel somewhat better. I ate a big slice of challah this morning when I got up, and it sat heavily on my stomach this morning but I felt hungry when I got up.

Neighbor teen next door is going to stay here and dog sit while we're away for several days in March.

We are back home from our big city adventures. The weather was too cold and windy to do the outside activities. We did all the other planned activities but cut them short because we grew tired of being in crowds. I didn't like crowded places before covid but now I doubly dislike being around so many people. We all came home with found treasures and made some good memories, so I am declaring it a success.

I got chilled to the bone and now I'm trying to get warmed up. I have 3 layers of warm clothing plus covered by a blanket trying to get warm. I took my temp to make sure I'm not getting sick but it is normal.

I wasted most of the afternoon (finished the will stuff but got nothing else done except ordering some notepads.)

Drove dh across town to pick up Chinese food. This means he'll have 2 meals of it in the freezer. And on Thursday we ordered extra pizza so we have 3 meals of that in the freezer now. Running out to get something will be difficult when dgs is here, worse if dh is recovering. The freezer is basically completely full now. There are two large juice bottles of frozen water but the rest is all food. And I only have 3 burger buns so we might have to buy more but at least at that point there will be 3 less burgers and 3 less buns so maybe there will be room!

I also have to make tourtiere meatloaf but maybe I can find a place to put that in the fridge's freezer.

On the plus side, with so much food on hand, it means I don't have to do a lot of grocery shopping over the next 2 weeks. Just milk and veggies and a bit of fruit.
