I am watching the radar as the storm passes over us. DS14 isn't happy that I am making him stay indoors at home while the storm happens. Two of his DFriends decided to not wait for the storm to pass and are riding dirt bikes in the downpour rain & lightning. Neither one of those boys has parents that are at home, so they are making these decisions without their parent's knowledge & guidance. Although, there is a high probability their parents would allow it if they were here. They are the opposite of helicopter parenting style. These 14-year-old boys are at home alone for days (weeks) at a time while the parents are working in a different state. ANYway, DS14 is stuck with us.....we say absolutely NO on riding dirt bikes while rain & lightning is happening.

DD11 and I made plans to go shopping this afternoon for her birthday cake and supplies. I am delaying that trip because I don't want to drive in the storm.

Back home did three things.
Went to JoAnn's got planner supplies on sale yea!
Stopped by the church on my way home to chat and put an envelope in the drop off box, chatted while I was there did not have brunch,
I'd eaten before I left things that were on my eating program a brunch is always a challenge but glad I could chat with folks it was a wiser choice had not been for a couple of weeks. Had some stimulating however brief conversations.
Walked ddog opted out of it as a big plane went over head just as we were leaving and scared her.
I am sipping my cranberry juice drink now.
Got my steps in today yea!
LM ~ We have thunder clouds over head and in the forecast so I am not mowing I get it about holding on to metal and a storm over head. Ack!

We are back home from show, which was good and thought provoking and won several Tony awards. The theatre was cold and I have a headache going, both affected my enjoyment. I'm still not warmed up again.

Yesterday on in the day I couldn't find my nightguard that I wear at night for teeth grinding. I was afraid I had left it somewhere and the dog had taken it and chewed it up outside, so I bought a drugstore nightguard which I used last night. That might be the cause of the headache. Anyway, I found the nightguard today in our closet on a shelf. Why did I take it in there? Anyway, I have it now.

We forgot to take meat to grill out of the freezer earlier, I hope it thaws. May have to help it along with some running water.

I did walk with dh for half his walk and pushed myself so I got enough exercise points for the week.

The closet is nearly done, just have to put the last of the coats away.

Dh did Costco for me so we have some food and had a nice dinner. I still have to clean up.

I read to dgs tonight and we made some plans for Friday, a day off school for him.

Now to work on the kitchen and finish that closet.

Hi! As I cuop, I've been watching the PBS memorial day program. I had watched most of it before but missed the first and it is wonderful and worth watching the replay. DH had noticed that the holiday wasn't mentioned in church today. As time goes on, DH talks a bit more about his time in the service. It used to be he wouldn't talk about it one bit, but now I think he's taken it in stride and has a little different view of it. He spent all of 1968 in Vietnam and was to move to another base for the next year he signed up for...but the night before that he was wounded and air lifted out, and after his recovery he finished out his service in USA. I think he was very lucky over there, first of all not being infantry but worked on the heavy equipment in a couple of the bases. And his injury was an accident that didn't need to happen but he recovered and was not left with disability.

Anyway, this is a poignant time for us, thinking about all this. DH has others in his family who served and tonight I'm thinking of Sunny and her family as she has 3 serving now.

I was a bit late to the middle church service today...I couldn't get the garage door to close. Finally figured out DH had put the extra bed frame pieces too close to the electric eye and once I moved them it closed. This afternoon I took those long steel pieces to the donation place and while I was up there did some shopping in a couple stores, lastly stopping to get our milk.

So that was my day. I guess Monday I'll do all the stuff I didn't do yesterday and today.
