Stimulating Sunday
There is a marathon route below my apartment today and it is also water station so there are crowds cheering, music pumping out the tunes to pump up the runners, air horns and bells clanging to keep the runners stimulated.
What will stimulate you today?

Re: Stimulating Sunday
At this point, I'm hoping tea will stimulate me. I managed to get the tea steeping and carried everything to my computer and then realized I hadn't actually let it steep, so had to wait before having any. Plus go back to the kitchen and get the dish I put the tea strainer into when steeping is over.
I have church, then a meeting after church, and then I think I'll go visit the grands to see their marathon medals (dgs6 did the school marathon yesterday - the 1.2KM after running 41 kilometers, one at a time, of the past months, and dgd4 doing a 4K with her mommy.) I'm sorry I missed their big day yesterday, even more sorry now that I'm in the middle of the marathon hoopla here, but I enjoyed my time away.

Re: Stimulating Sunday
I am up at five ish today.
Made my coffee took my meds.
I slept well.
Listening to a qt sermon, no sermon today just a brunch still have not decided it I will attend or not yet.
-----
I have done my qt. some journal ing planning bujo, mp later on.
Thinking dog friendly places might be a fun adventure at some point.
Got dressed.
Used up the last deviled egg had a few boiled up I did not put in the salad so they got deviled.
Spiffed up after kit. activity.
We have drizzling rain this morning had to put on another layer not turning on the heat here.
Waving to all who venture into our village!

Re: Stimulating Sunday
~~~waving Hello to all~~~~
I just gave both kids notice of the time so they will stay aware as they are getting ready. We will be leaving for church in 15 minutes.
I am closing the books on the school year celebrations and am ready to open the books on summer. I want to spend some time today doing a high-level overview of the summer and start dividing it into segments and deciding how to use each one. Experience has taught me that it will pass quickly with or without a plan. I want to give my best effort in deciding what we will do and getting it done.
Re: Stimulating Sunday
I'm up here. We will see Dear Evan Hansen this afternoon - it's part of the Broadway series of traveling shows. And this evening, dh has invited friends over. (Eye roll - I suggested that we see if they could do something so he invites them over.) He's going to grill steaks and I'll roast asparagus and make a salad. Dfriends will bring fruit for dessert.
These are the friends who may be "put out" that we didn't invite them to the beach this year. They went last year and have apparently been pumping our friends that did go this year. Dh didn't realize I didn't meant for him to invite them over so when I suggest it again I need to be specific. Their schedule is more like Lucylee's so they tend to stay later than I really want.
Tomorrow I'll need to focus on getting packed and ready to go on Tuesday morning.
Re: Stimulating Sunday
Yesterday I was outside for most of the day starting at around 5:30 a.m. when I let the cats out. I took 2 bags of donations to the end of the driveway, which ended up sitting out there until 5:30 in the afternoon. I will take them to that food bank on Monday. We took down most of the rest of the fence yesterday and I started burning sections of it. Around noon dh told me I looked very red, and I should take a break. I had been walking around the fire soaking the grass with water so the fire would be contained to one area of the back yard. There was very little wind yesterday and there seems to be very little today. I hope to head outside and get the last 4 panels burned today. This includes the posts that are still attached to the panels.
So far today we have gone out for breakfast and then we went grocery shopping locally. There is a store that has watermelons on sale. When we got there, we couldn't believe how small they were. They also had mac and cheese in a box on for a good price for a case of 12. I will donate those as well.
We are having steak with baked potatoes for supper.
Re: Stimulating Sunday
Good morning everyone. I've talked with our pastor in FL earlier this morning, then DD called while she was on the way to church. Our interim pastor from up here called me last night to check on dh. She's called just about every day. This is her last Sunday and our new pastor starts next week.
Dh is very tired today. He's gone back in to lie down on the bed. I'm thinking for at least the next couple of hours or better. Have to ask DS-R to come empty our tanks and to check our propane. Know we ran out early this morning so I turned on the electric heat (all off now).
Last night as I was getting ready to go shopping I realized my 'back up' camera wasn't working. Then realized none of those type of electronics weren't working (clock, radio, dash lights, etc). Had DS check it out but the car was running ok. Have to find where the fuses are as DD is quite sure it's a blown fuse.
How I remember that time and our DGDnow28 was there. I came across pictures not too long ago of the 3 of them running around our yard. I'll never forget your surprise when you showed up at our DShelley's Memorial Service and decked out in (her favorite color!) that beautiful purple dress. Remember your saying you came all that way that day representing our SHE village. That was so special to me! And that was June 9, 2009. That DGD has gone to college, become an RN, got married and now has a sweet little girl who will be 1, June 1st. Yes, "time flies".But I must have been around well before that, because that would have put my two at 7 and 5, and I think they were younger than that when we visited Dee at the RV. Time flies.
Re: Stimulating Sunday
Mystery, I know you were (here long before that) because I remember when you had a toddler so small, a very special CUP was the right size to get a photo. Isn't that right?
Dd24 borrowed my car today to take middle nephew to an art event. It's pouring rain anyway - I doubt I would have used it and it's helpful to them.
That doesn't mean I don't need groceries, for instance. Just not the right weather for that. The plan is there.
Ordered from et sy a Father's Day present for HRH that I've had my eye on. Got a notice that the seller sent me a small coupon. Okay, that was a good nudge to remind and it's done. He's worn a similar tee to this one to the point it's getting holes in it. (Scottish. Wish I could have found one more exactly the same, but this is close.)
The husband of the Senior Pastor led the online service today. Nice to hear his thoughts - lucylee, he mentioned Asbury's experience earlier in the year. Because I was starting to look up using the words "what day" on server, to learn about 50 days after Easter, I got a lot of information about Whit Sunday/Whitsun (British word for the holiday there) and Shavuot (50 days after Passover), so I'm well-informed today.
Re: Stimulating Sunday
Church was OK.
Pentecost is my favourite of the special church holidays but we had an eco-theologian as our guest preacher today and her completely valid take wasn't what I was looking for (plus I wanted to debate her on a lot of her points because they were both human supremacy oriented and scientifically dodgy.) She did emphasize that we've tended to lose lament in our worship tradition, trying to brush it aside and focus only on the hope and the happy, which is a very good point. So I appreciated her message but would have perhaps appreciated more on another day.
My meeting after went fine. Added to my to-do list for the week, though.
Thankfully, dd's busy for the rest of the day so dgd showed me her race medal over skype. That saves me at least 90 minutes today to put to something else.
These are the big projects around the apartment that need doing:
1. Clean out front hall closet and put away all winter things, pull out all summer things. (Top priority - about a 2 hour job in total.)
2. Kon Mari my clothes (low priority in theory but top of mind and likely a 4 hour job not including taking things to the thrift store donation centre.)
3. Set up the balcony for summer enjoyment. (Should be second in priority and a 4 hour task as well.)
Dh wants to get out to Costco but I'm thinking I'll send him on his own because I can give him a detailed list and save another 2 hours. I could get the front hall done in that time. He can bring home dinner so that will save more time in the day for me.
He also wants a walk and so I may go on one with him or I may skip that too. It depends on how much walking I got in last week.
So, I'll poof now and at least coordinate with dh.
Re: Stimulating Sunday
The last pieces of fence/fence posts are still burning with very little flame left, and some smoke. Thankfully most of the smoke/flames were going straight up when it was going strong. All the smoke was white, no black smoke in sight. IF any of the people that slowed down as they drove past called the fire department, and IF they were asked if the smoke was white or black, I guess nobody felt it was enough of a fire to drive over to our place and check it out. Mind you, one of the firefighters has a step son who helped dh take down the fence and move the panels...
whatever... now it's done.
I sat on the patio and drank a lot of iced tea and read some of the book I am currently reading/enjoying. (Kate Morton~The Clockmaker's Daughter) Historical Mystery. She has a new book coming out soon, so I thought I should read this one before I buy the next one.
