Harmony, a dentist office is one place patients really want to tell the pros about their brushes with Covid, I guess.

Dstepson came to see HRH with a funny card. Dstepdil has a sinus infection, poor thing.

Dd43's boys all came, two coming in complaining about the haircuts their Mom gave them last evening. Dgs12 has thick, dark brown hair like his Dad, and yet curls like dd! He's the only one with curls. Bless her heart, she really does not know how to please him with a haircut. So, he and the youngest were feeling a lack of control over this ritual with Mom. Grandpuppy is also very shorn and suddenly skinny, lol. They brought HRH a mug tailored to his enjoyment of multiplayer gaming. Words all over it - I don't even understand part of them.

HRH seems to like the shirt I gave him. He'll be honest with me later, if he really wants something different.

I sent dd43 home with a non-fiction book I bought the girls to share. If we see ds today, I have a different one for him.

Church service mentioned Father's Day, but the pastor stayed with her series of sermons. I was appalled at one point that she began to become hoarse, and asked about water, blaming her own poor planning not to have any. It took so long for someone to get up and go, then so long for them to come back with a small bottle of water. Then she couldn't manage getting it open alone because she was trying to hold so much, so the person did come back and help with that. I was thinking - come on, people, is there something more important going on in this moment that you can't get up? Can we try to facilitate this genuine need in order to get on with the reason everyone is here? I guess they are a distance from the kitchen? Does that really make a difference regarding hopping up to try to help? Send a child, for goodness sake, if you need a runner - they'd love it. Have we no cell phones?

HRH. dd24 and I watched his all-time fav movie this afternoon : The Day The Earth Stood Still. Klatu, Birada, Nicto! (sp, I know, lol) How were people that skinny? All the lead characters were thin as rails.

Twins, I sure could "see" your whole job of helping with the washer. What makes men so stubborn, anyway? And your sentence "nap with the dog" made me smile.

RRose, BWTG cleaning the shower. I could use one of those brushes. Did it work if you were pushing down on it very hard? I just get in there with a scrub brush. I tried to use one that was on a sorta long handle, but the brush was on a bit of a swivel thing and didn't work very well. It wasn't a battery. I do better just getting down into the dirt and scrubbing. I dress like you do there. My shower is 48" x 30" wide. I spray it with shower spray, takes 5 or 6 seconds and saves loads of cleaning time. Rarely needs much. I bought some for DH but he won't use it. He rinses off his walls and uses a squeezie on the glass door but lemme tell you that floor gets BAD. His shower is 59" x 35" inside. He has a removable aluminum and plastic stool at the back wall and he has a handheld shower head and the regular head. Thanks for the reminder. I went in there to measure and it really needs a good scrubbing now. Blek!

I made a big pot of chili for dinner. I tidied up around here, got tired of just sitting. I made some notes about our outside paint and copied the numbers off the lid and got all my notes into a big envelope. Put that big file box away till the next job comes up... oh, when the plumber comes I'll have to put those notes away.

Dd has come & gone, dgd
& dgson were here too for a bit to give dgd a ride to her dad's family thing.
Dgd made cinn. rolls from a can to take to her dad's doings.
Weather is good winds have calmed down.
It is cloudier than it was.
Neighbors are back and mowing now.

My son never made it over here do to the storms. I don’t know how much rain we got, but I would t be surprised if it’s over 8”. My lake is up a foot at least.

Harmony…my scrubber comes with 7 or 8 attachments and a long extension. I didn’t have to press too hard for it to work. One of the attachments looks to be just perfect to clean my baseboards, a job I detest. I did a dry run with it and I’m really happy with the results.

LadyM… the only thing I can say is if your ds sees it as fun it’s not work. If he lived on a farm he might see it differently. I loved doing all sorts of things on my Aunt and uncles farm, but it wasn’t a full time job, but I wouldn’t trade all my experiences and the things I learned for anything in the world. I was 26 at the time and it was one of my favorite and best times of my life. I guess I look at your ds and think how lucky he is. I imagine once this kind of “work” start to interfere with other parts of his life, he may switch to do something else.

I'm also glad to see bw2 posting and am wishing her rest and peace and stillness in her life!

So I also asked dh to empty the big bag of dog food into the plastic bin - and when I opened the door to the garage freezer the scissors he used and the top he cut off fell off the top of the refrigerator/freezer onto me. Nothing is put back where it lives here.

We walked dog and we're cooking some brats on the grill for our supper. Now he wants to invite neighbors over for a drink later.... It's always something.

But Billy Gray (who also played Bud in Father Knows Best) said that as the child actor in the film, possibly paying the most attention, lol, he always believed the point was that the 3-word alien message had to be that brief to be memorized, so each word had a brief meaning. Since the first word was the name of the sender, then it was a two-word order, like sending a memo to the robot : "from me - do this". He felt the only words that fit were: "Save Earth".

I will have to look up that scrubber.

All porcelain in this house has outlived its ease of cleaning. The kitchen sink, the tub - each difficult. At kitchen sink, the divider especially is worn in scratches to the metal underneath the porcelain. But I think the tub has enough, it just isn't slick anymore.

Ds and the children came through the brush from their house in their mother's jeep after a church event. I guess they have done this before in four-wheelers. I wouldn't. Ds' explanation was that he just washed the jeep and didn't want the new dust from our driveway to settle on it. Hmmm... .. Ds brought two old fashioned bottles of "Dad's" brand root beer. I was able to give him the book myself, then.

I looked up the scrubber and saved it to consider later. The tile in our shower floor has soap scum that I can't get out.

Yeah, RR, but it's my dfriend M and her dh. I wouldn't mind seeing them, anyway. They are letting us know soon, recovering from a big dinner.

Harriet, do they need to check for ticks now? They're OMM after our NH trip.

I've been piddling trying to remember how to use Power Point. We have a template for the presentation - it's "My Portfolio Journey" so it's obviously not technical, but I need to get it together for Wednesday.
