I'm home from getting work done on car. Brakes not vibrating on me, oil changed, filters changed. While there I managed to get myself up for 250 steps every hour. My hip flexor is much, much better today although there's still some hip discomfort in the gluteal muscle. I know walking every hour helped because I felt so stiff when I first got up.

I found leftover Costco pasta salad in the back of the refrigerator from when we ate with with dfriends on Sunday p.m. I knew they sent chicken home but I didn't realize there was the pasta salad too. I added some of the chicken and more tomatoes and it's making a good lunch for me.

I'm with you LadyM! I love cabbage, however it's cooked, or raw, or fermented (sauerkraut). Not everybody eats that. My innerds like it too.

As for my skin... sheesh! Twins, DH had a biopsy on the outside of his arm right where his muscle is and it's way over a year and not healed yet. Turned out to be nothing, but the problem with healing could be that he sits and picks at it because it annoys him to have something like that. He's always picked at any old thing on his skin. I keep telling him to quit.... I hope yours heals finally.

As for me, well, I have eczema on the palm of my right hand that comes and goes all the time. Inside of my ears gets it too. My immediate problem is... well, when I was young and perky this didn't happen. Yesterday I tried going without that garment...but that didn't help. And I guess you can figure out what I'm saying.... and there are a couple other spots. Any time skin touches skin I get this and this time it's really bad and persistent. Certainly not hygiene which would be an easier problem to fix. Now it's in my scalp so I'll have to start using my special shampoo.... and my lips are continually chapped and Nothing helps. I can get better if I get some sun tan...but I don't think I know where the nearest nude beach is.

RRose, Good to see you back. I was wondering about you this morning if you were back yet.

DH came in and he's not looking good, he's not standing straight up. I had him sit down while I made him lunch. He went back outside again...I told him to take breaks more. He's trying to get done before it rains again.

I got that statement done ready for tomorrow's mail. Got a card ready to go too. Another LOL done and hung up. I am going through my laundry faster and running out. Need to see if I can make a DPC next. Get it off my mind. Here goes..

I got all of the errands done. I really wanted to go to the bookstore, but I will do that on another day.

I had a nice, hot shower.

I also made the second batch of jelly. Three large jars for us and 4 tiny jars for gifts.

I have taken some beef liver out of the freezer for tonight.

Later...

Third batch of jelly is done. It's so easy to do when the juice is already ready to be measured and poured into the pot. Something to remember the next time. Today seemed like such a breeze. This batch was 3 more large jars and just 3 small ones. I made sure to get as much into each jar as possible. I might go back and top up the second batch with one of the tiny jars. I've already heard one of the lids click, so it's sealed. It's a very satisfying sound.

Been working outside because it’s a bit cooler outside with little sun. Still have laundry going and need to work on that.

LadyM… I had to start wearing glasses at 10 and hated them! Wore them on the top of my head in jr and hs till I was 16. Then I got contacts. They were God sent. Back then the contacts were made of hard material and expensive. Now they are made of soft material and cheap. Also some of my Autistic girls were hair sensitive and hated washing their hair. Many of the moms were concerned about it. I know your dd has thick hair. The mothers of my girls used tons! of conditioner and combed through their daughters hair while they were in the shower. The girls weren’t excited about taking showers either because of their sensory problems problems with the water hitting their bodies. Many used wash cloths and wipes instead

Because the test for whether these fabrics need to be prewashed was a complete fail (ya'll should have seen the test water), I am in the midst of prewashing all these fabrics. I estimate, oh... .. about 4 more "loads", only one of which is large, but still. I'm separating them because of color.
Actually, the small ones are the most concerning because of fraying and therefore "losing" so much of them. The pressing will be tiring, and yes, I have the big ironing board out (it needed dusting - I'm sure ya'll are glad to know I am consistent).

Cathy
, I hope you have a great time in your learning. Why did I think you already knitted? I know that Elizabeth and Nancy have told about knitting projects in our A, C and Needlework thread, and I think others.

Skin chat - HRH has a place on ankle/calf that looks just terrible, ever since his treatments. But dr says it's not concerning - he sees this all the time. It really matters, though, when a place looks bad. HRH says. "people will think it's ringworm" (because it is round). Twins', my reason for not wearing shorts is usually ~~~ spider veins ~~~, which I inherited from both sides of my family - from my mother who lived a somewhat quiet life as elementary school teacher and homebody and my father who hiked, farmed, actively used up every hour he could outdoors. Both had impressive spider veins that virtually matched each other, and they weren't even kin, so I was doomed, lol.

((Harmony)), for sleep struggles.

Glad you are safe and sound, Ramblin'!

Ya'll are making me hungry for my cabbage casserole recipe from dfirstmil.

But we just grocery shopped, by delivery. That worked out well for us today because we both have irons in the fire. (Ugh, my iron is actually an iron, isn't it? )

Harriet I do knit, but that's all I can do is knit plus casting on and off. I can't purl and I can't read a pattern. The scarves I have been knitting are basically long rectangles that aren't the greatest. This class will also show how to pick up dropped stitches and fix other mistakes.

Speaking of which, I need to get ready to go.

What, when, where, why, and would you do it again?
WHAT -- scrapbooks (actually, binders with page protectors, there is nothing pretty or decorative about all this so far.)
WHERE -- in my computer room
WHY -- because I am obsessed, apparently, with documenting every moment of my life and that of my family and friends
WOULD YOU DO IT AGAIN -- well, I'm still in the process of "archiving" all this, so I guess, yes

This is my only ta-da for today -- while on phone with ds (he called while he was out walking) I did manage to get years 2010-2012 out of three binders and into ONE binder. Now I only (!) have two overstuffed binders, which are somewhat in order but not totally, and a bit of clippings and church programs, etc, which are still in the box on the desk.
This all started out as a way to document ds' musical journey, when he first started performing publicly, at church, etc...
Now, it includes EVERYTHING I save from family trips, obituaries of family members and friends, dgrands' sports schedules, etc. etc.
So it's still kinda a jumble of miscellany, but I feel better about having it chronologically arranged in binders, rather than piled in a big box. SOMEDAY I may actually go through and make it pretty and put pictures with the items... but y'all know how long that will take me.

I also s/s the toilet in the master bath. Can't say I really s/s the whole bathroom.

And I am s2s and prepared to go to Bible Study with dh. I still don't really feel like it, but I know what's wrong with me has to be allergy-related. They've cut hay all around our house during the last week or so, and it's just that time of the year.

(((BIG HUGS))) for all of you with skin issues! I can relate. Right now mine is okay, but sometimes I get a terrible rash on my hands. I have some sort of rx cream that helps.
DGD still hasn't heard from biopsy of the patch on her scalp.

Welcome home, Rose!!!
Tomorrow is another day.

What is happening? I'm getting severely distracted, that's what. Got to bed too late last night and thus slept too late this morning, and I've just been behind all day. Sadly, that includes getting the radio turned on for this evening's ballgame. Our manager is retiring at the end of the season for health reasons; tonight is the last home game, and they're doing a big deal for him, and I was hoping to hear the pregame show with the manager. Alas. This is also my godson's last night working for the ball club, but since he's just a bat boy/clubhouse attendant, he is not receiving any fanfare. ;)

I did spend an hour with each of the kids on their rooms, and they each filled their wastebaskets twice, so that's something done. But beyond that, I've done very little. DH is making dinner, which is almost ready. After dinner, I'll pull up the game on my phone and head downstairs to get a load of wash in. I don't know if I mentioned, but DH got new lights for the laundry area, to relieve my feelings of being in a dungeon. Now it is excessively bright! But I can't say he doesn't listen to me. And here's supper!

hello! dh and I have been out today but I wanted to say hello and hope you had a good day!

today I had a couple $$ shocks - I got my hair cut by a girl I haven't been to in a year - I know I shouldn't but I have been trimming my hair during covid and this year - I have very forgiving hair. Today my hair cut was $75 - plain old hairs trimmed (dh always says hairs as a giggle).

Another shock was Joanne fabrics. I want to make a scare crow that I saw a long time ago - I don't like scary.
I want to make this cute witch I saw in a magazine with layered crinoline skirt. They had one already made on the costume rack. I picked up the skirt - a cheaply made crinoline fabric with a cheap black shiny lining for the underneath. (they were asking $79!!!) the witches hats were $39.00 my goodness.

The cheap fabric I was looking at was 13.99 a yard. probably because it was in the halloween section.

at least I can say it was an eye opening day

d harmony - hope you get a good night sleep.
it is always a joy to be here with you!
