That doesn't surprise me.
Last night dh spotted what he thought was a raisin on the floor but it turned out to be an exquisite pebble with all sorts of shiny bits in it. We both admired it and he left it on the kitchen counter saying "we should keep this". Later I was cleaning up and brushed it into the garbage can. I apologized but he decided to 'dive' for it and managed to get it out. He put it on a different part of the counter that doesn't get wiped down as often because there's other stuff stored there. This morning I moved it into a container to keep it safe.
On our porch is a very large, very sparkly rock. Minerals seem to be in abundance here!
We ended up getting no rain at all from whatever blew over and 20 minutes later I was running around closing all the windows I had opened wide while there was a breeze. Conversely, we had closed the car windows to protect from rain, so those are now open. I have to do some stuff out in the car so it has been moved back to the cottage from the other parking area.
I've responded to the accounting inquiry and eaten breakfast. I've also started running fans (two in the cottage and one on the porch. I fixed the nesting windows out there so they open up fully now, some had been installed backwards and some just 'wrong' so I had to google how they were supposed to work and fix them. Of the 10 sets of windows, only 3 were properly installed. The panes are all really light because they contain heavy clear film, not glass or plexiglass.
The nesting windows are really interesting; there are four vertically stacked panes for each window, and I can either pull them down from the top or lift them up from the bottom and as the top or bottom pain comes down/up, it nests behind the next pane and pushes it along. So I can open up each window up to 75% of the opening (and either the top or bottom 75%.) When I just pull the top pane down a bit, air comes in but the open bit is under the eaves so rain won't come in. Up until now, it has been cool outside so I've not had everything open fully and even when it was below freezing in the mornings, the porch was above freezing. Today, everything is open full and while it is 82 out there, because it is shaded and there's a bit of breeze (and more from the fan), it feels lovely.
Inside all the drapes are closed now so there's no view, making the porch the nicer place to be even if it is quite a bit warmer than inside (75*).
Next up, water the plants, that involves actually going out into the sun (but it is just 85* but has a feels like of 93.)

It feels good to make progress on one of my projects. Raised Bed #9 is the least developed bed in my garden. The other 10 raised beds have very few weeds but bed #9 seems to be a magnet for grass with long runners underground. It is a chore to get the grass & weed roots pulled up. I am making progress inch by inch. After I get all the grass/roots/weeds removed then I will implement a proven method to prevent it from happening again.
We voted. Before we went to vote I had to research the candidates for sheriff and the corporation commissioner because I am not familiar with any of the people running for those offices.
DD13 lost the use of her screens for the day. This was a consequence we decided and discussed in advance with her counselor. Raising kids isn't always easy. Learning life skills isn't always easy. #ToughLove

If either one of those are blue, there is a stone called "sodalite" in the area. There is a mine up there and I think they have a store a couple of miles east(?) of town. I used to have a pair of sodalite earrings and I also have a collector's spoon with a small piece on it.

Coming in late …
Was up this morning and had to take a shower cause last night I was outside helping Sweetie set the pool timer and I had to douse myself with bug spray. I hate the stuff but hat big bites even more. When I came in I totally washed my body but could still smell some on me this morning.
Left the house and did some errands… went to the bank then WM. While there I made Sweetie an eye appointment. Bought what was on my list and then headed to where my luncheon was being held.
Ordered a chicken salad sandwich but only ate the filling, not the bread. It came with a small bowl of mixed berries and grapes along with some strawberries. This place I known for their desserts and pastries, it I passed on that. Had a great time visiting with all my friends.
Came home and just put my feet up. I was still hungry as my sandwich only had about 4 tbsp of filling so I am eating 1/2 of my apple and a wasa cracker. That helped.
I am debating on buying a robotic vacuum cleaner …several of my friends have them and love them. Know Twins uses on as well.
Cathy and Nancy … I don’t watch much news but Sweetie loves all his political programs. I don’t watch much tv, but would rather read. However the second season of House of the Dragon has just begun and I have discovered I LOVE fighting dragons… who knew. I’m also a big fan of the show Alone. I like watching survival shows and have read many many books on that subject over the years

I'm just feeling off today. I went on to my workout (tried to talk myself out of it) and felt good about it. It was hard today, I could feel it that I haven't worked out in a while. After I went to the plant nursery for annuals - still had red geraniums, I got asparagus ferns to add to them for the spilling out, and I also got some zinnias in flats because mine did not do very well when I spread the seeds. Then I stopped off at temple and picked up all the cemetery mail. She opens, scans and sends me images via email but sometimes I don't find the email or find something she didn't send.
I was hungry when I got home and ate a turkey and cheese wrap with lettuce and tomato. I have the afternoon college world series game on - FL state is playing again. They'll plan TN tomorrow (again) if they win, and they're currently ahead. Millie went out for awhile when I got home, I'm trying to wait a bit before I take her for the walk. I'm going to relax a few minutes in front of the game.

I didn't sleep well last night, and had to be up at 9:30 to pick up DGS at football. I know that sounds ridiculous -- why anyone would complain about getting up after 9:00 a.m., but it is what it is. When a person doesn't sleep until after 2:00 or 3:00 a.m., 9;00 comes early. I wish I could change my pattern to do like your dh, Twins. An unnaturally early riser... that would be quite a change for me.
But I did get him, and he went with me to change the oil and get the tires rotated and balanced on the Tahoe.
He's gone to eat with his parents right now, but he is coming back here later and spending the night with me.
Tomorrow, we have to leave at 6:00 a.m. for our trip to see the Braves play (and eat at the Varsity.) Tradition. Big tradition, first thing we really have to do without dh. It's going to be hard and I'm kinda nervous and almost dreading it, but the kids are looking forward to it it, so I'm sure we'll have a good time. DS will probably be fine to do all the driving, but I will certainly offer to help.
I have been sooo sleepy today anyway. I think the new stomach medicine does make me sleepy. But I also think it is helping with the urgency problem. So... it's a catch 22, I guess. At least I know I'll sleep better tonight with DGS here.

(((lucylee))) That’s a big one. I hope you have a wonderful (if bittersweet) time.
One of these days, I’ll find the right time to get in here to be able to reply to everyone who’s been in. That day is not today, so you’ll have to settle for a general “Hello!”
We are headed to our annual game convention tomorrow morning. I would be running around like a chicken with its head cut off if not for the heat. Instead, I’m just sort of slouching my way through my to-do list. The thought of getting out of the chair is unwelcome; the thought of leaving the single room that has air conditioning is unbearable. But it must be done. At the pace I’m keeping, though, I will be up very late doing it.
Next up is probably doing the breakfast and lunch dishes to make room for dinner to happen. I say “probably” because DH just headed that direction and may start making dinner anyway. It is hard to have two people in the kitchen, especially when they’re not working together.

The temp got up to 37C here on our weather machine. That doesn't include the "feels like", so we stayed inside most of the day. Actually dh hasn't been outside yet as far as I know. I had a 2 hour nap this morning. He had a long nap this afternoon.

Feels like it took all day to wait for and then entertain HRH's visitors.
After that, called over to dd44's, where I learned they were having family game night, then planning to go to bed at 8 tonight. Hurried over to take Ramen noodles, a can of tuna steak and an unripe banana. Dorm gifts for DangerBoy.
DangerBoy leaves about dawn in the morning for college. Feeling sad, sort of. His mother says they are bringing him home in 20 days for one weekend, the only time he'll be home during the summer quarter.
