Re: Attention: It's Tuesday
Hi! Thank you for the start this morning Harriet!
It is Tuesday! I would like to go pick up the 5 bags of stones today. I don't think dh has any plans that involve getting off the couch today. He already has the tv on, watching some ridiculous, mind numbing show. I have plans for the tv to be gone as soon as I can get it out of here. I can get news on the computer. Everything else isn't needed.
Another really hot day here. There was a thunderstorm early this morning. The youngest cat got to stay in the house last night. We closed the bedroom door, which helped.
No idea what is for supper tonight.

Re: Attention: It's Tuesday
I learned my lesson yesterday and got up with the alarm, after hitting snooze a couple of times. Of course, knowing dh would come back through the door after his workout was a motivator too. As an unnaturally early riser, sleeping late is not in his repertoire. He doesn't get it.
OMM today is much the same as yesterday's. Run the roomba, deal with the summer pillows in the garage and get bins ready to put away, call for a haircut appointment and go to plant nursery for annuals. I went upstairs earlier and got my planner book, which I left upstairs yesterday when dfriend M called.
I think Dove asked about my wrist yesterday or the day before? I assume it's healing, no change at this point because it's immobilized by an internal rod which will come out when healed. It's achy at times and I still wear the wrist brace a lot. I see the doc on Friday a.m. so I'll know more then.
Next up I need to change my clothes and walk ddog before day gets hotter. High 91 today but there's humidity.
Good morning Harriet and Cathy!

Re: Attention: It's Tuesday
I've been out tending plants.
Inside, broccoli sprouts are photosynthesizing in the window to offer some of that nutrition!
Decluttering some in the bedroom and among sewing things for the cleared spaces.
Grocery order HRH has made is on its way (hopefully some more of that nutrition) and he's moved the truck for them and opened the screen doors. He's anxious for it - it's late and he's hoping frozen things are not thawing as they did once. Hopefully early enough in the a.m., but they email that they are running late.

Re: Attention: It's Tuesday
I have paid annt. to that trash and it's at the curb today.
Also Looked at the plans on cable to drop it down next month.
They are different levels on what is available and even on the phone call the gall could not see or help or understand what all
we have available here. The other gal had such a thick accent from India maybe I could not understand her and she talked really fast!
So I had to talk to the other dept. sigh....
Up with the birds today.
QT stuff I'd done
bujo still needed.
We had good rains last nite so happy about that! Yea!
Mtns. got snow.
Proud to say I read three pages in my writing craft book yesterday that is my new goal.
Success on one acct. p/w issue looking at the plan cannot have adtl t/v on with out $ increase thinking on this.
New tv had a special rate to get started probably for 6 mo. or ? a yr. less half what I"m paying. But it's good that I did get to the place that shows what acct. has been doing.
Thinking on this for now leaving it the same, it does help me to understand they have discontinued the current plan if I change it
I cannot go back.
Found the rates and what's available on the current cable stuff basically only two.
So considering that change for next mo.
/ Update got n flicks on new tv after p/w reset yea! One step at a time.
Plus I've Decluttered two small empty boxes from the basement on my walk around.
Next up bfast prep.

Re: Attention: It's Tuesday
I have some business year-end bookkeeping to do today but I brought a big cloth grocery bag with all my files and my accounting computer with me, so it should be easy enough.
The cottage remained cool yesterday, those big logs are great insulators! It will likely heat up today, though. The humidity feels higher and today there isn't a breath of air, yesterday there was a breeze until the evening.
<Edit: a rain storm is blowing through unexpectedly, heavy winds. Rain wasn't expected for an hour and that didn't include wind. Dh just walked up to the porch, he was on the lake in his kayak so I'm relieved.>
All cottage days feel like weekend days but the sound of trucks delivering things (or maybe it is a garbage truck) and hammering remind me it isn't. I will admit to being confused this morning when dh put on the radio from our city and the morning news show was on. I was expecting the weekend folks!
So far, all I've managed is my tea and chocolate and making a list of all the grocery stores in this area (and on the drive up) with their hours.
We are going into Bancroft which is the biggest town in the area on Thursday. Dh is renewing his passport and couldn't get an appointment in our city. I suggested looking to see if there was a Service Canada in Bancroft and there was! We'll also do groceries, have dinner out, and explore the town a little bit.
One of the outcomes from all the babysitting and cottage stay planning yesterday was that we are driving home through dgs3's home and picking him up. Which means I have to have some food on hand for him when I get home. Also, I didn't completely finish setting up his new bed at home (his regular bed was the bottom of the bunk bed and it came up to the cottage with us so I can host dd and her kids. At least I have the play tent up and the air mattress out (but not inflated.) And I washed all his bedding too.
Gotta run and close windows.

Re: Attention: It's Tuesday
My first xh had family just south of Bancroft and the family cottage was an hour north of Bancroft, so I spent a lot of time there. Eagle's Nest restaurant was a popular place to eat. They used to have an I.G.A. that we went to for any major grocery shopping before we headed north. His grandmother wrote a newspaper column that was quite popular. I haven't been to Bancroft since 1994. There also used to be a Rock/Gem show during the long weekend at the beginning of August.
Since I last posted, I have cleaned the cat litter boxes. Seriously considering going back to bed to read. Too overcast/muggy to work outside and the tv show is beyond boring. Two guys helping each other launch a boat and the announcer is explaining everything they are doing and why they are doing it.

Warm here, although I defer to those with extreme temps. It's "feels like" 86 already. Dog is walked and I have Roomba going.
I'm not paying attention to that OMM list from Sunday, although it illustrates how priorities change daily.
-put dorm refrigerator on Facebook market (was used upstairs in my office for bottled water, but I used too much. Onerous to refill. Better now with jug of drinking water to refill my iced tumbler.)
-49K steps On track
-watch a genealogy webinar the webinar I'll watch later in the week is live tonight but I don't want to watch live at 8 p.m.
-prep for genealogical institute next week - write summary of problem (Worked on this yesterday, but keep going down the rabbit hole of research. Need to summarize what I have and make it short and sweet)
-HOA and cemetery accounting
-find and get annuals into planters annuals this afternoon
-locate and purchase planters to repot a couple of plants (Trip to Lowes, I'll also need potting soil for annuals and repotting.)
-usual research/writing on William White children, assuming I have time. may not have time
To that I've added
-appointment for haircut, and hopefully haircut (they are closed today, can't call today)
-email the webmaster for the neighborhood with the balance sheet and income stmt/budget for this year
This round of five:
-breakfast
-wash up after walking ddog
-kitchen counters)
-Scan and email HOA info
-clean stovetop
-get rid of 10 pieces of paper from the stack i have going....

Re: Attention: It's Tuesday
Good Morning!
Maybe I should say...WHAT A MORNING!
My day started by snuggling in bed after waking up. I knew the teenage boys had their alarms set for 6:30 so I decided to wait until then to get out of bed. While I was in bed I picked up my phone to check our little community latest happening (FB groups). To my great surprise I see a picture posted at 2am of our two big dogs with an explanation that these two dogs are extremely friendly and are running loose. ACK!
Within minutes DH and I were dressed and checked to make sure the dogs were really not in our back yard. We found the gate swinging open and no dogs in the yard. By this time the teenage boys were up and DS15 was in a panic about the dogs being gone. We split up into two groups with DH and me in one vehicle and the 3 teenage boys in a different vehicle. We went in opposite directions from our home driving through the streets looking for the 2 dogs. THANKFULLY we found them after about 15 minutes of searching. All's well that ends well.
While we were actively searching for the dogs, DD48 sends a text message telling me how absolutely mean I am. Then she put DS15 down for not doing better. Not true. Not helpful. DH told me to block DD48 but I can't do it..... yet. I'm choosing to just not respond to her. We have been through these uncontrolled manic episodes so many times over the years. It isn't easy but at least now the kids are safe and not on the receiving end of her explosive verbal rants.
When i got home and the dogs were safely in the yard then I started my day....again. I immediately did my mile walk before I got distracted by other things. Garden watered. Peppers harvested. Breakfast cooked (yummy egg/sausage/pepper wrap). Now I am going to relax and finish drinking my cup of coffee before continuing the day.

Re: Attention: It's Tuesday
((LadyM)) Wow, it would be tempting to respond with exactly what you were doing when she fussed at you. How you and ds15 were working hard at that moment to help your family and community. Just to interject some truth and facts into the dialog. Probably wiser, though, to let the cycle play out, with time.
Extended family of HRH's will visit this afternoon. They expressed some disappointment to him when planning today, that they had not been invited to the wedding, which surprised him. The couple simply couldn't expand the guest list so wide that they would have been included - the event would have doubled in size, too large for that venue. He doesn't think he was able to express that well and feels embarrassed, put "on the spot". But if it comes up again, I'm sure I can say it gracefully. I think sometimes folks forget that when it's a wedding, only half the decisions can be made on behalf of their "side of the aisle".
