Not much to write down here... all I've done today is eat, sleep, and watch tv.
I take that back -- I did make a DPC -- called my duncle. He sounded better today, but I know he is having a rough time.
Whereas I have dgrands to occupy my time a LOT of the time, he has no one.
OTOH, dgrands have been at home the last two days and nights, and I have done pretty much NOTHING.
When they are here, I do nothing because they demand a lot of attention, and when they are not here, I just sleep and watch tv.
However, I am telling myself that I probably need sleep. I have been through a major life change, I am not sleeping well until sometimes 4:00 a.m., my stomach is still keeping me in the bathroom a good bit, and if I need to recuperate during the day... so be it.
I am doing all the absolute necessary things -- I buy groceries regularly, keep the laundry caught up, do all the things I need to do business-wise re: settling dh's estate. But when I am home with time to spare -- I mostly sleep and watch tv. I lie on the couch in dh's spot, and I guess I just try not to think because if I do, I'll start crying.
Tonight is the grands' last night at Bible School, so I suspect I'll have one of them over here tomorrow night. I know I'll have one Fri. and Sat. and both on Sunday night. DS is out of town and ddil is working this weekend.
It has been nice to have a week with no doctor's appts for dmom, I must say! Also, nothing I personally have had to do except stop by dbil's office and pick up those letters from the probate office Monday... and Friday I will be going to a funeral at my old church -- father/brother in law/uncle of some friends of mine. I don't know what happened to him -- he was in his mid-80s. He was one of my teachers in Bible classes as I was growing up, just a really great person. Dmom said she would go to the funeral also.
I am trying to cuop, but I can't possibly respond to everyone. I was so glad to see an update on Harmony, although I'm sad that she is unable to be back here with us... and I am still very concerned about blessed. And Elizabeth... and y'all, whatever happened to EmptyNester -- sometimes we just called her "MT." Has anyone heard from her?
I've also been following the clean-up efforts for your dd, LadyM. I can kinda relate to her having a hard time letting things go. Maybe I should try rotation of stuff.
I haven't really even touched any of dh's stuff yet. Three months last Friday. That seems unreal. Of course, I threw out all his meds (well, took them to pharmacy to dispose of) and I put his bp machine and record-keeping calendar in a cabinet in the dining room, but otherwise... I just can't do anything. The last shirt he wore is still hanging where he left it, and all his toiletries are still in his shower and on his countertop in his part of the bathroom.
Anyway... right now I'm going back to the tv. I'm sorta a political junkie and I have been watching the Republican convention a lot. But I'm looking forward to watching the Democrat convention too. Even when I was little, I liked to see the people from each state announce their votes, always giving a little highlight of their state and then saying, "the great state of ... casts its votes for..." Somehow I missed my own state Monday (dgs was here) but with all the controversies surrounding this political season, I can't tear myself away from the tv. I guess it's such a big change from MY current situation, so it's an escape.
I've also gotten hooked on Steve Harvey.

I watch Family Feud and Judge Steve Harvey, which just started back last night.
It feels weird not watching sports all the time, but I usually don't even think about the Braves. Totally caught me by surprise that last night was the All-Star game. I don't even know who won.
