Walked while it was nice out and cooler out.

Did another Anti. P. tasked that needed to be done before Oct. Yea!
Got tags on the one rig on time before it was due so yea!!!
Washed windows on it too.
Then watered before the winds kicked in that are in the forecast.

Seems stuff and it is a bit humid so I''l e turned on the fans.
Glad for my progress this morning.
Happy to hear my self singing no music but had some joyful fun driving.

Decided to wait on a couple of inside things like dishes I can do them later
dish pan is not full yet any way.

Got some more dog treats drying. Fun shapes this time.

Made my DPC. It as to someone that we “disinvited” to Rosh Hashanah for his year. Awkward but we don’t see then outside of temple.

Well, today was maybe a one step forward, two steps back kinda day. After a really productive three days, I definitely hit the wall today.
I made it to the Grief Share group, but about halfway over there, I just started crying. I did talk a little bit at Grief Share, but I don't really know what brought on the tears. Maybe a song on the radio? I don't know. Last night I kept thinking back to the day dh passed away, and how hard it was to leave the hospital. That has still been on my mind today, so maybe it was just a day to let those hormones leak out of my eyes, you know.

I stopped at the very popular, favorite seafood place which is right on my route and got a gallon of seafood gumbo to share with DS.

I was sooo sleepy all the way home. I did not stop to visit my uncle (who is also right on my route). I just wanted to get home and take a nap.
I did that, slept about an hour I guess.

DS called, and he and DGS stopped to get their half of the gumbo.
A little later, I went and picked up both dgrands for Wed. night church... taught my class... took dgrands home, and now I'm in for the night.

Interesting questions from my lesson -- I meant to ask my mother earlier, but I was too sleepy to call her after I got home. So I'll ask you ladies.
(1) The apostle Paul had a driving passion to spread the gospel. What would the people who know you best say is your "driving passion" in life?
(2) In times of adversity, do people see you as an encouragement or a discouragement?

(((Twins))) for the DPC and awkwardness you're feeling. Also sending good wishes for your weather!
* Thinking of you, too, Rose, with this weather. Hope you have no damage.
I hope Harmony and her family are okay too. I so wish Harmony could check in with us. *** SUNNY -- are there any updates?

WTG, Nancy -- looks like you've got a lot done!

(((blessed))) It is wonderful the way you and your daughters take such good care of your dmom. (and your dh!) You have a lot on you, and you are ALWAYS an encourager.

LadyM, I am definitely encouraged by the way you are keeping up your walking and other routines, even with your recent surgery! I know that is driving you nuts, having those stitches annoying you like that.

I'm also thinking about your checklist. I'm still trying to keep up with mine, but I do have the things that are habit on mine.
Today, I broke down and ordered the three-month set of fancy journal/planners. (Silk + Sonder, if any of you are curious to see what the fuss is all about.)
Of course, anxiety now -- first, I said I would NOT order anything else from a Facebook ad without checking the website. Second, it is ridiculously high priced. I got a 25% discount, and it's still over $50 for only three months! That's crazy. Third, one of the reviews said it was difficult to cancel the recurring charge. They send a new spiral notebook each month and you can pay monthly, every three months, or yearly. However, I did pay with PayPal, so I'm thinking, if there's a problem cancelling, I should be able to tell PayPal to stop paying it.
I am thinking I can use these three months' planners as a guide for the parts I like, and make copies for my other planner (which is approx. $50 for the whole year!) I'm also justifying the purpose as a wedding anniversary gift for myself.

Kathryn -- how aggravating about the rent check! I'd probably cry too! Maybe it will turn up somewhere soon!

I am a little hungry, but I don't know if I want something heavy like gumbo or not. We ate at church, lasagna and salad, but I only ate a little bit of each.
Tomorrow is another day.

I finally got up to Hay Lake at 4:30.

I stopped at the halfway point to pee but did so at the welcome centre so I wouldn't be tempted to pick up a snack at the donut shop dh always stops at.

Then I stopped at a grocery store we haven't been to along the way to check it out. Picked up autumn mums and an onion.

It started to rain after the second stop and my watch gave me a weather alert for T-storms but it stopped by the time I got to the cottage and I got the car unloaded in dry weather (although everything was wet here.) After everything was inside (and the cooler emptied) I sat down and checked the weather. It said I had 57 minutes until rain so I swept off the deck and the stairs up to the porch (I figured the leaves might be slippery when it rained) and I got my landlord's decorations from the shed and put them back up on the porch.

Her decorations were autumn themed to my way of thinking, a pine cone wreath and some dried plant branches she had in a lovely pitcher, so I replaced the branches with yellow artificial flowers and put up a windchime from home where the wreath was hanging. It didn't make noise there so I eventually hung it from the rafters and the hook was used for dgs' life jacket. I tidied the porch and set up the fourth chair again in the seating area so that there are seats for my sister and her partner. The dining table remains set up there until after they leave. The weather next week will be hot enough to eat out there at least 2 days. Which is good because there is no dining table inside the cottage (dh and I used a card table we pull into the centre of the living room each evening.)

I came up with 5 different ideas for dinner and pulled out the ingredients for 3 of them, finally settling on french toast. I finished that just in time for my 7 p.m. zoom meeting and lit the fire to take the chill and damp off the cottage.

I'm unpacked now, except for the bags and bags of paperwork, although some of that is done.

I've 'watered' the piano (refilled the humidifier), taken down the cot we had left here because dd and the kids aren't coming so it isn't needed, and returned the office to being an office/laundry from being office/bedroom. As I work, I move things into bins to bring home. The car will be quite full this trip back.

Bollocks, I can hear a mouse right now. Must set the rest of the traps. I refill them tomorrow with fresh bait but for now they can be set.

BTW: just before I drove out cell range, the guy whose check I lost texted to say someone had found it outside the other building and brought it back to him. He was impressed with the guy's honesty.

Lucylee: In answer to your questions:

(1) The apostle Paul had a driving passion to spread the gospel. What would the people who know you best say is your "driving passion" in life?

I suppose it would be building community. At least I hope it would be.

(2) In times of adversity, do people see you as an encouragement or a discouragement? Encouraging of them, for sure when others are suffering adversity. When I get into a state of adversity, I usually spiral downwards pretty quickly. I was so upset with myself for losing the check today that I couldn't put the effort into getting off so ended up leaving after 1p.m. instead of my hoped-for 10 a.m. departure. Suddenly the effort of getting off just didn't seem worth it and I was dreading the long drive. I was still pretty down when I got here but the fresh air and listening to the wind in the trees helped a lot and I feel much more positive now.

I have survived the next bands of the storm that rolled through and blew some things around.
I cleaned off the dirt from the planter on the deck that tipped over my small sign blew off the deck.
A couple of small branches blew out next to the road I moved them back, checked and none were on the roof.
I has cooled off a bit stuffy still.

[It's still breezy out and will be for the next 2-3 hrs. but not as bad.]

Power has been out in various areas because of the winds, branches or trees down I suspect.
Some areas north of us got a lot of dust but we had rain so it was not so bad I think unless I missed it
because I was in the basement during the worst of it. I did not loose power thankfully.
Cushions blew off and lawn chair scooted around but nothing serious.

We had thunder, the lights flickered a couple of times I think it might have been lightening and it rained hard
and we had pretty good sized puddles in the street.

It's been a day not so much for me personally but a 19 yo on motorcycle died in an accident on the bypass.
More fires have been started from the storm lightening, trees on lines or whatever causes em in a storm.
