I enlisted dh and we did some clean up on the screened porch. The rug is still wet out there and the bin of potting soil even had water in it. He suggested I let dcleaning lady do it but I'll have a list for her and I'd rather do that myself the way I want it. I'll have her dust and vacuum out there. I also cleaned the inside of ddog's favorite window to keep an eye on the world. Lots of dog slobber and nose prints there. Temp inside is 72 and outside is 70 but I worked up a sweat. It's very humid.
bw2, I think the ring is inside the house somewhere.

Re: Sunday around the Village PWYC
we were supposed to get pumpkins today but dd younger is under the weather, dd older is enjoying quiet time before work starts today, d mom - wants to stay working at home.
I thought about cancelling this but I decided just to go and get them as we had to cancel this seasons apple picking bc of dd orders work.
I want to decorate and when I wait too long then it doesn't get done.

Re: Sunday around the Village PWYC
I recently noticed the disappearance of rabbit food that had been spilt on the ground. I strongly suspected a critter had found a way under the fence and gained access to the garden. But life is busy so I mostly ignored my suspicion. Today I walked outside to the garden and caught just a mere glimpse of a critter running away and going under the fence. Hum....what to do? I need to focus on securing the bottom on the fence so critters can't dig underneath. It would be helpful if I knew what kind of critter it is. Most likely possibilities are possum, skunk, or armadillo, I relocated one of the cameras so it will record movement in the garden. Now I wait for the critter to show up and be the star of candid camera ......

Oh a game camera how exciting I cannot wait for the reports of breaking news from your garden LM!
I have had lunch talked with dsis this morning and I pulled bread dough
out of the freezer, put it in the oven thawed to thaw & raise at a low temp & it raised & now it's backing in the oven
in a 9" x 9" square pan just for fun.
The house smells heavenly.
Was yummy.
Ddoggo is napping.
20 mph winds here now.
I got a crochet hot pad started and did my quota if I go over it my shoulder complains.
-----
I was in the basement for a bit did some knitting on cranberry colored cotton yarn for dish cloth got
one section knit on it ! only 4 short rows.
I can do white hot pads for this one with holiday thoughts in my head.
Ddoggo came to get me to let me know it was time for her snack.
I watched mostly listened to 20 min. or so of a movie.
----
Next round
I watered back beds they are more protected.
Put a stake for the sunflower to lean on winds have been hard on it today.
Dinner is thawing on the counter.
watered in front.

Re: Sunday around the Village PWYC
I have been so "down" all week and I didn't do much of anything for almost a week.
Woke up this morning to seeing a puppy pad on dh's side of the bed. He only puts them on the bed if he has soaked the sheets. Knowing that the kitchen was a mess, I just stripped the bed and got the first load into the washer and then I went into the kitchen...
This morning I loaded the dishwasher. ALL ten plates went in, plus 3 of dh's coffee cups and a LOT of cutlery. Numerous pots and pans got washed. I have a few pieces to still get done, but I am exhausted. I admit that I was doing what dh calls "angry dishes". Heck I was trying to break the Corelle. None of it broke.
The only thing I had been doing all week is taking out garbage. Keeping on top of that kept this house from becoming a stinky mess. Yesterday dh and I both spent all day reading and napping. This morning dh told me he thought today was Saturday when he woke up and couldn't figure out how it's Sunday already.
Right now dh is cutting the grass. We are having left overs for supper.

Re: Sunday around the Village PWYC
home from picking up pumpkins - it was nice going by myself instead of skipping it this year.
Family helped me empty the car and now all the pumpkins are in front of our house on the steps.
we harvested the "SURPRISE, I AM HERE" pumpkin and took pictures of dh and dogs next to it. He has told everyone that he has been growing it - We just let him chat about how proud he is of it. He did walk past it every day
. I could say that I watered it - checked for bugs - fertilized it but he was so proud.
The girls and I think we should put the picture on the family Christmas card. Enjoy the little moments!
I have no idea of what I will make for dinner. I think I am going to have to go back to bulk cooking while mom and dd younger are in town. Making a regular dinner is not on my agenda during the last of the season.

(((dearest Cathy))) and your dear dh (()))
would it help to get paper plates, cups and plastic forks etc. When dh is at his sickest we implement the "you can't do it all" rule. He was in the hospital and I got covid -- we set the rule in place. There have been times where we have enlisted the cleaners by us to wash our laundry. (this included the special sheets on the bed and pee pads on the bed during times of leaking and sleeping through when very sick for dh. Also the special underwear for men. Expensive but worth it at night.
praying for you and your sweet dh!

Re: Sunday around the Village PWYC
dd26, dsonil have been and gone. It sounds like a long time until they get power back. They borrowed the truck.
dgdC came and sewed for over an hour until her brother had evening church meeting for his age group. She finished her nine-patch blocks, picked out new fabrics, and started on a star block. She had popsicles and Dad-jokes with HRH.
Ds came to get her and sat a while to talk. He has many stories, not many good. One development's whole carport-like thing of boats just floated away, all the boats roped together, and over a spillway they all went together, too, traveling away in a sad, broken heap. There was nothing the fire dept could do. Then a house came down and wedged. Several times I asked him what kind of house - what did it look like. He kept looking at me funny. Finally, it dawned on us we were misunderstanding each other. Only about one foot of the top of the house - the highest peak of roof - could be seen by the time it reached his work city. It was lumbering along underwater, and he could only guess a height by estimating the depth of the water at that edge/point. He wouldn't talk about more serious events because dgdC was with us.

Re: Sunday around the Village PWYC
I DID NOT realize how much rain was coming down. Rain has been very light yesterday and so far today but it's coming down now. Walked ddog in it and came in through the garage where I shed my cap and raincoat, and took dog to laundry room for toweling off. My jeans are wet and uncomfortable. I think I'm going to put my pajamas on.
Wow, Harriet. Yes, some things he will long remember.
