The protest that I have seen are all over the place and for a HUGE variety of reasons. Protesting seems to be the popular activity to celebrate our 1st amendment right (Free speech). There are pro (for) and anti (against) protests happening in almost every place and sometimes in the same place. Some protests have buses of people who arrive together with mass produced signs and all the protestors leave at the same time. Some offer the protestors the chance to file online to be paid to protest. I find those most interesting. All countries don't have the right to free speech so the US love of protesting anything and everything probably seems a little different.

Homeschool lessons are in progress. I have about 75% of the assignments ready for this week.

DS16 has pink eye (diagnosed by me and AI). I have some pink eye meds on hand, so have started putting those drops in his eye every 3 hours.

I posted without being able to read yet about your snow and subsequent damage to plants, LadyM. I hope things are not as bad as they first seemed although the enjoyment of seed-planting is a lot of fun and could be full of interesting experiments (and harvesting dreams).

Dstepdil came over with dstepson the second time and we enjoyed a long conversation. While they were still here, ds and family arrived with our birthday girl. I don't want to shock anyone but ... .. my dgdC is 10 years old. Can you believe it has been a decade since the little darling was born at Duke medical, and I was asking prayer as she went through an operation at 8 days of age. She is the picture of health and bright as a penny, what a joy. (Slight grandma bragging here, but you should hear my thoughts, lol. I'm embarrassingly without modesty there!)

We were such a predictable group. Ds and dstepson carrying on a conversation with HRH across the room from them while ddil, dstepdil and I carried on another across the room at right angles! The children jumped in where they could. Tobias tried to get ds' attention for play and succeeded a little.

Ds and the children, who have a new flock of young chickens, have a snake story already this year, of course. The children figure in it quite a bit. I hate for them to face some of these realities but there is an element that is good for them to have experience. He and HRH call the way they structurally reinforce chicken runs and houses "chickitentiaries", but you almost can't guard physically against thin predators until the flock is old enough to wage their own war.

Cathy, there were over a thousand here, lots in other countries I read. Yes, some was about those not voted in, but most about sudden changes in policies. I'm glad so far, the coverage seems to suggest all the venues stayed safe.

The morning service was so easy to follow today - I'm helped by that. In a series of messages, step by step, very clear. Tobias was, perhaps, happy that I wasn't able to continue all the way to the last singing because of knock at the door. I get the impression sometimes that he is just being polite to stay with me while I sing along! His feeding time is directly after the end of service, so he will put a paw on me to remind.

Then walked ddoggo.
Had lunch yummy planned left overs.
Squirrel is coming down the tree out the window.
Was going to mow sigh but maybe not it's not too tall.

Another beautiful warm, sunny day. I visited DF E 99 for coffee after church today. She was in great form!

I've cooked a roast lunch, folded laundry and PA, provided a lap for Freddie and Matilda and done a little in my garden. I'm doing my best to resist buying summer bedding plants until after Easter as the nights are still cold (it was only 2C first thing this morning), but I can still plan.

Predictable day for me — church, lunch, dgs is here with me, and dgd went with her parents to visit dmom.

I’ve kinda had a nervous stomach all day. I just feel nervous and edgy. Teary night.
I just can’t believe next Saturday will be a year since dh died. It just doesn’t seem possible, and it depresses me to think about it.
Busy week ahead. Two ballgames, I think, dermatologist appointment, dfriend wants to have lunch, and I’ll be trying to visit dmom at least EOD plus a “care plan” meeting on Thursday. AND I will have both dgrands from Friday till school Monday morning. DDIL asked me if I could do that so she can accompany ds, who is playing in her hometown, at the festival where they met.
I’m already tired.

At least dgs is feeling better.

LucyLee - glad to hear your DMom and DGS are doing okay.

I can't believe we are out of ready-to-eat food. I cook almost every day to keep a selection of food available and can normally stay ahead of the need. There are 4 teens here today. I'm not complaining but just acknowledging the facts.

I have walked through the garden almost hourly today and have not found a single plant that the snow killed. I am shocked. I have trimmed the bottom of the tomato plants so have been close to each plant searching for damage. How can that be? I am struggling to believe it happened even though I saw it with my own eyes and have pictures of the plants being completely covered with a couple inches of snow. Nature is remarkable.

Lady M, I am wondering whether the snow maybe provided some form of insulating "blanket" and protected the plants?

I got in about 3:30 and almost immediately napped with the dog. She’s at my feet on the couch right now, dh went to bowling, and the house is quiet. Rain was not that bad, although there was some stop and go traffic.

Tomorrow I need to be back on track, whatever that is. I need to get out my “book.”

I have been outside enjoying the sun and my new glasses watching bees & bugs.
Grass is not that tall in the back I did not make it to the front.
Came in as ddoggo was barking neighbors are back hauling out more stuff from
their shop.
I raked up some stuff and moved an old fence and white lattice, and an old wheel burrow and wagon and the newer ones.
Did not burn any thing... yet. It got too late.
Taking a rest break napped earlier.

Had some down time.
Did up the dishes after dinner.
Musical desks one done.
Emptied out one desk now it's in the room I wanted it.
The other one is empty as well and the 4 of 6 drawers are upstairs now.
Others will wait & I'll have to recruit help to move the main part of the one with out drawers in
it upstairs.

It's a lovely evening.

I have finished and put away all the laundry.

We had a fabulous supper even though I wasn't fond of the meatballs. I won't be buying that brand again. Dh agreed. The main thing is that we tried them.

Dishwasher needs to be unloaded so I can start to refill it.

Vehicles have been locked for the night along with the garage and the back door.

Thank you for the info re: the protests. From everything I've seen they were all completely peaceful. I've also seen some of the signs. Very interesting.
