Weather cooperating, I’ll be home today, and so very appreciative of home sweet home!

Home is about 5 hours away through possibly rough weather. If it gets too rough or I’m too tired I”ll stop for the night again. Dh warns to be careful out there, please. Going through SW Va and East Tennessee. On the road soon.

I have done something a bit different today. I asked dh if he could sweep the whole house for me today. We have no carpets or rugs, so it's all bare floor. (We have a naughty cat that pees on carpets, rugs, towels and clothes left on the floor.) He has done the living room and the kitchen. Then he went and had a shower.

I have done the litter boxes, the bathroom garbage and the kitchen garbage. The clean bed sheets have been put away. I re-did the load of tops that I never put away yesterday. Now they are ready to be put away again. I didn't want to get in dh's way when he was sweeping. I also need to empty the dishwasher. Dh is in the kitchen, so I will wait until we have had breakfast before I do that.

We are having spaghetti and meat sauce for supper with the leftovers tomorrow night.

The sun is shining, but it's cold and windy outside.

I've been up a couple of hours.
The shower for great grand child yesterday was great I spent some time reflecting
and journaling about it such a creative bunch of family!
I'll share more about it in the creative sewing and crafting thread.

I have not mowed this week yet.
Neighbors are clearing out the shop behind me so they can get that on the market this spring.
They were busy like bees yesterday glad I kept the ddoggo inside as she barks at them.
They junk pile behind the shop is getting cleared out yea!

Now I need to think about my day.
I took items for the basement freezer down stairs this morning glad I restocked it.
I still have meat to containerize and freeze up from yesterday's cooking adventure
Rain in the forecast tomorrows.
These new glasses are not working for the PC the regular ones I can read and journal but this is some thing for the
readers. That is an interesting change for me I'm still getting used to these new ones.

Good day!

The predicted SNOW arrived last night. We received about 2" of big heavy snow flakes between midnight and 3am. I was up at midnight watching it snow as DS16 was driving in the snow to take Kayleigh home. DH woke me up at 3am to tell me it snowed. Yes, dear. Thank you for that info. This morning, I walked through the garden with a heavy heart as the tender plants I have been babying for the past month were covered with snow. It didn't get below freezing but since the plants were covered in snow I suspect the 113 plants won't survive. The snow won't last long and our weather later this week is predicted to be 89F so it will soon just be a memory. It is a fact of life that weather and gardening activities are all filled with unknowns and learning experiences. I didn't stay sad for long because it is a marvel to see the beautiful snow sparkling in the sunshine. The plans for the future gardening efforts have already started. I have decided to go old school and plant seeds this year like I did the first 40ish years of gardening instead of buying & transplanting potted plants which seems so popular now. Who knows....this late season snow experience might be the encouragement I need to nudge me to change the way i garden in the future.

Church this morning was just what I needed to hear and experience. I enjoy talking with VDFriends as we gathered for group worship.

One of our lifelong friends called an amubalnce to take himself to the hospital yesterday. VDFriend has the same symptoms as my DBrother had this week. So far all his test results are coming back negative and they are leaning toward saying it is viral also (like DBrother). These two fellas are as tough as they come and for both of them to be taken down so hard tells me this virus is serious. I hope it doesn't spread.

Dstepson has been here cleaning out our gutters before that weather hits us, Twins'. (I guess it's part of the same weather pattern you are facing - stay safe!)

He has taken the ladder back and will come back to visit after yardwork.

Ddolder came to chat with me about headwear and look some online. While here, she already bought me her favorite idea, over my protests, and sent me the link for my favorite so I can choose color and consider buying that one myself. She is nothing if not efficient.

Right now, the sun is shining, and win is not high.

I am watching and observing the snow/tender plant interaction in the raised bed. What I expect to see is not occurring. The snow is 90% gone now so all the plants are visible. The cold weather plants that grew all winter with no protection are the ones that are showing the most signs of damage from the snow. That does NOT make sense. The strawberries, mustard greens, swiss chard, mum, etc all have droopy leaves from the snow. They grew all winter without a problem so why are they being affected by the snow? Maybe the tomato, potato, tomato, etc plants that I expect the snow to kill are in shock which is delaying their leaves showing damage. This does not make sense to me. Is it opposite day and the plants are playing a prank on me? I will continue to monitor and learn.

I need to let the garden be for a few hours while I spend some focused effort on planning for the week.

What is happening in homeschool this week? Need detailed lessons and assignments.

I got up with a sinus headache but am done with that.

LadyM … the other day we had a belly washing storm that left my side garden seeds either wash away or covered double deep in debris. A few have managed to sprout, but I’m going to replant again.

We are getting ready to see my DGD to give her her birthday presents. It’s always a mad house there so I don’t believe we will stay long.

I finally got those tops put away. Dh wanted to go get some soda, so I went with him. When we got home I cooked a pizza in the oven. Now dh is gone into the bedroom to read and play games on his phone. I did a load of laundry earlier, so I'm going to flip it and possibly join dh to read for a bit.

What was the protest yesterday about? All I can find is something about the guy that is very rich, but not a politician. It doesn't say what the protest actually is though. (Not political, just curious.)
