gma, the "going through the refrigarator day" used to the day I'd start a big pot of veggie broth - there would always be some tired looking veggies that could only be used up this way! Nowadays, clean out the refrigarator usually happens when I try to restock it on grocery day. We all do what we can and when we can!

Hi, all. It is my weekend. We are back to full-on winter with blowing snow and windchill of -14 C. Germane and I have enough food in the apartment, so no need to walk to the grocery store or anywhere else. Plenty to do at home.

Thank you for our floral start, trissie. Like many people who are not good at gardening, I enjoy seeing pictures of successful results.
That is a crazy busy week for you. I hope that the twins have a wonderful time at their party.

I'll join you in the paperwork today, kittykatt. I will FACE finances and at least start organizing to do taxes.

I am fascinated by the pigeons building a nest in a tree. I have seen pigeon nests, and they are often a few twigs and stems scattered on the concrete, like pigeons are the kid who never contributes to group projects.

Twins' Mom, if you ever need to get rid of an ear worm I can give you a link to the anti-song that gets rid of it. As far as I understand, our brains treat music like math, and the songs that get stuck in our heads are like an unfinished math problem that the brain keeps going back to. The last line in the chorus of this song completes it, so your brain gets relief.

We have roses that are hardy in my apartment grounds, laurlind. They are the bush type that grow quite tall, and produce what I think are rose hips.

I have never been able to keep a rose alive either, Gma, and got pretty fed up with their thorns, which is why I switched to begonias, LOL.

This is a link to my anti-song, trissie. The lyrics are basically the band telling Simon to open his eyes when he sings and Simon making excuses for singing with his eyes shut. When he finally finds the courage to open his eyes, he sees that the audience is full of his friends from high school, and that it's full of support for him.
Again, the great thing about this song is that it doesn't replace one ear worm with another one, it actually completes the task that the brain is stuck on so that you are free.
