Tequila Sunrise is a very striking rose. If you like brightly colored roses, the rich, deep yellow petals edged in hot scarlet red will call to you. Her dark green leaves provide the perfect foliage for her 4" flower with 40+ petals. This continual bloomer is very popular in Europe and New Zealand and was the winner of England's Royal National Rose Society Gold Medal in 1988.

Good morning, Trissie, and thank you for the start and for another beautiful rose that brings back memories. My parents in used to drown this rose too, and it was a favourite of mine when I was small.

I never made it back yesterday , but I did get upstairs cleaned, the windows upstairs cleaned, the sheets changed on the spare room bed, and the spare room itself tidied, decluttered and turned into a guest room ready for BIL's visit. DH has been shown the spare room in its "guest ready" form, and informed that if he messes it up between now and then, *he* will be the one to put it all back together! I will, of course, do my usual very quick dust and hoover on Wednesday, but, apart from that, my job in there tomake it nice for BIL is done!

Today promises to be another beautiful day -Ibe watched the sun rise with all three of the cats on the bed. DH is WFH , and I'm planning a walk, more time in my garden and my usual housework downstairs. Added to the list will be cleaning the patio doors. I think DH has choral practice tonight, so that will be an opportunity to look at paperwork. I also need to change the standing order for the council tax (and again in May - why can't they have 12 payments the same like normal organisations?). And I think there's at least one email I need to send. So, getting up would be a very good start!

Make list of outstanding jobs on the house and send to Handyman A. DF PM, who has been mentoring him through some difficult turns his life has taken, thinks he may be ready to start some jobs again. (If he doesn't reply in a reasonable time, or doesn't want to do anything, then I'll look for someone else, but I would prefer not to do that). Off the top of my head, clean gutters and the swan neck on the downpipes where "stuff" tends to accumulate, clean cladding back and front and downpipes, and short return wall as well. Replace the bit of mortar that's fallen out of the edge of the roof (I think its called the verge?) , fix dripping kitchen tap ( new washer?), sort out cabinet that wobbles, fix garage guttering that's loose at one end and bending down. More as I think of them? ( Still waiting for a reply) In the circumstances, leave until after Easter them contact him again before looking for someone else.
Take up and hem those thick winter curtains for the kitchen
Book eye test for me
Find picture hanging equipment for DH
Sort prints and put in albums (this will probably be an activity to do on wet days!) WIP I am now working on 2024
Think about setting up Guardianship for F,J and M - looked on Cats' Protection, I need their microchip numbers, approximate DOB, colour and markings and useful information about them. Bookmark link with local recommended solicitors (also ask DF CW?)
Change health centres to the one nearest us? On hold ATM , but I'll leave it on my list so I don't forget.

It's another sunny morning, and warming up quickly. I've taken Fred out - he is currently fascinated by the pigeons who are building a nest in the tree next door. He tries to climb the tree, and is most affronted when they fly off:lol:

I've had a very nice walk through the valley park, and a good chat with Dnextdoorneighbour C on my return. Openreach have been out yet again this morning , and have taken photos of last week's effort to install her fibre, that ends two thirds of the way down the path. Someone is supposed to be coming to"within the week" to do the job properly, so we all await the next instalment, and in the meantime the saga continues...

Jumping in....now I have an earworm and will be humming Tequila Sunrise all day, yes, I know you're talking about roses! I'll be humming every time I see it, lol.

Morning all. That rose is really pretty. I wish. I feel like there are only a few really hardy roses that will survive this climate.

I should get moving. Get in the shower and do some routine stuff. Work early and see if I have any energy left for a coat of paint. I doubt it but if I could... my friend said she'd come help tomorrow afternoon. I think that's going to be more moral support as ready there's not a lot for 2 but it really won't take long with 2 rollers. If I could get 1 coat started...

I also have bible study tomorrow and likely should go check on mom and dad. He was in town yesterday morning with a friend. I am pretty sure he has morning check in set up. But I'd be shocked if there wasn't a grocery list.

It's 5:15pm and I got home like 10 minutes ago. I'm so cashing all that overtime in May! But I feel confident we will get that reporting out in time. During lunch break, I even managed to book an escape game for the twins' birthday party for Friday night (no more open slots for the weekend, and I am not excited about doing this Friday 8-10:30pm in the city, but we just didn't work out another weekend till end of June), so that adds more stress to my already crazy week. Oh, and did I say it's parents-teacher conference at DS13's school tomorrow? But DH will attend. I am too cowardly to go plus it works better this way - if we were to switch at home, he'd have to leave work at 4pm the latest, this way he can stay later.
