☀️Good afternoon!
I’ve been enjoying roses lately, kittykatt, mostly at shops and online. I did order a small rose bush from Walmart just because I was curious to see what they would send, and it’s a beautiful bright yellow bloom in a 5” pot. You most definitely deserve some “therapy” shopping for yourself.

Smile, birds used to give me trauma because it meant I had to get up and get busy. Now I’m learning to enjoy nature and all of the bird songs. Every year we have a red headed woodpecker, have had him many years, now I’m wondering what their lifespan is, is it the same one or is each training the next one in line about our bird feeder…

Doing great, LAnn!

Helia, I keep wanting to put an n at the end of your name lol. Sending prayers and good thoughts and lots of energy to you and yours this month.

(((Trissie))), hugs as you push through and beyond all troubles.

I didn’t get to post yesterday. Dh and I had eye appointments. Apparently being near sighted (me) causes tears and eventual blindness and requires laser surgery at some point. I get so anxious with any doctor appointment so this wasn’t nice. At least it’s in the future so I will push it out of my head for now and keep tabs on this large “floater” in my eye to see if it worsens or if I start seeing bright flashes of light. Wondering if anything could help heal it somewhat or stop its progression, like fish oil, collagen…
After that we had a lovely day, lunch, lots of new thrift stores in Pensacola waiting on us to discover them, we knocked out a couple. Found some precious Easter cacti in 1” pots, so tiny, I had to get one in each color, pink, dark pink, yellow, and white. For some reason dh wanted a Hulk metal poster. Won’t that look lovely in our home lol. Maybe it can go in his shed once it’s decluttered.
I lounged this am, perk of an empty nester, eating yogurt and catching up on my planner, then taking the dogs for a walk. I’ll be back later with a to do or two.

Enjoy your day.

Average lifespan of a woodpecker is 10 years if anyone is wondering. :)

Bama ~ the cacti sound so cute! A woodpecker comes around here every so often and pecks at our stucco. I'm assuming he's trying to get at little bugs in the cracks. I hate to shoo him off but afraid he'll crack the stucco if I don't.
L.ann ~ sounds lovely ~ a library with coffee!
Hey, peach!

House has had a general quick spiff. Laundry rebooted. Lunch mess cleaned up.

Bama, I will answer to helian! I did not know that about woodpeckers! We occasionally have red-headed woodpeckers here. Red-bellied woodpeckers are more common, though their bellies aren't actually red. The males do have a bright red cap on their heads (females have a partial cap). We also have tiny downy woodpeckers. The most ubiquitous bird in our neighborhood might be the flocks of wild turkeys that roam about. Sitting inside the house, I can hear them as I'm typing.
That sounds like a wonderful fun and comfortable place, L Ann.
I hope your evening is better than your day then, trissie.
That's pretty amazing, Smile! Yuk - bird poop. We had 4 hens for a few years. We kept them in a moveable coop that dh designed and made himself. Every weekend, the coop was moved, the poop collected and the ground with newly-dead grass hosed down. The grass would eventually grow back- so much thicker and greener than before! :D I think we had a neighbor ask us once for chicken poop to fertilize their garden. And WTG getting to the gym.
Hi Peaches. I'm putting away a grocery order too.

More done. Progress has been made on Mom's paperwork, exam prep, editing the chapter for the writing curriculum, laundry, and groceries. Plus, I exercised this a.m. and got my real ID done!!

I need to start cooking dinner in about 20 minutes so we can eat early.

Next:
- lights: fold
- make the bed
- put away groceries

Later:
- payroll: edits for writing curriculum - wip!
- don't forget to update timesheet
- start Mom's paperwork - wip
- put groceries away
- dinner early: chicken cacciatore, rice, roasted b. sprouts
- after dinner clean up
- 7:30 Lenten group
- duo
- update health apps
- can I get in a walk to accompany the strength work out this morning?

TaDas!
- up; weighed self
- coffee
- some qt
- dressed to exercise
- 8-9 workout with trainer - other side of town
- back exercises
- s2s and self care
- squeegee and wipe down shower
- print out and gather documents
- appt. with SOS for real ID drivers license (I didn't need all those documents in the end)

Oops, missed you, Smile. You’re like Snow White. (;
Helia, I love seeing wild turkeys. We haven’t seen any in years although I know they’re out there. We back up to a wooded area. Some people have seen small black bears and cougars but I haven’t seen any and we’ve been here over 25 years. I heard coyote pups a month or so ago, cute sounds, would get my dogs to howling with them. Hens are stinky! We used to keep some but they’re all gone. One lone turkey is left and he doesn’t stay in one spot so his whole pen is fertilized but not enough to scoop up and use on a garden. My aunt used our chicken poo for her garden.

Moving my list down:

Tada:
Walk Beau
Messages, emails
Converse with land surveyor and give go ahead
Feed turkey
Feed outside cat(s)
Fill bird feeders and water bowl

Laundry room:
Scoop litter boxes
Refill cat food container
Give dogs cans of wet food to finish off after cats got what they wanted of it
Soak wet food bowl to wash later
Sweep
Fold clothes

Kitchen:
Load dw
Hand wash water cup, cat bowl separately
Clean out fridge
Wash radishes, strawberries
Put filled water jugs on porch (for plants)
Cooking chicken for supper (with dumplings, black eyed peas)
Put citrus in fridge
Put empty box in bedroom
Put bag of plastic Easter eggs in box
Wipe, tidy counters

Dining:
Fill water bowl
Work on planner
Tidy

Living room:
Scoop out fireplace
Water plants
Tidy

Misc:
Vacuum
Dh home - rode around yard to figure out where to plant crepe myrtles
He pulled up cm from spot too close to house and we put in bins with water for now
Finished cooking

That’s probably all for me today. Heading outside to clean up whatever he’s gotten into, shower, eat, and chill for the evening.
