The Fairy rose is a polyantha rose, and was introduced in England in 1932 by the famous rose breeder, J.A. Bentall. Parentage is ‘Paul Crampel’ x ‘Lady Gay’.
It has been popular ever since due to its small size, abundant pink blooms and tough nature. It produces a wealth of small, double, light pink blossoms that may turn blush white during intense heat. The Fairy is very useful for small landscapes due to its size with a mature height of 3 feet and a width of 4 feet. It has a low spreading habit that is great for softening harsh angles, or cascading over the edge of a container.

Good morning everyone and happy Thursday!

Gma, I'm glad you're having progress with the diagnosis of your foot.

Trissie, I hope the parent teacher meeting was productive and positive, and that the teachers are starting to see DS's good points and strengths, instead of just complaining about him all the time, which benefits no one.

Smilelee, I'm glad the massage helped.

Dogged, WTG for getting your car emptied.

L.Ann, I agree, 30% off is not to be missed!

Laura, WTG with progress on the paint!

Helian, you sound busy and productive -what are phrasal verbs? I'm sure I must use them without thinking!

Yesterday was good, productive and quiet (no workmen!), until DH came home. His first immediate request was for me to find his old school photos  (Why?! What has brought this on? In any case, I have no idea where they are, and I wasn't about to start looking when I was half way through cleaning the kitchen.) Then, he made the announcement that BIL is bringing a pie for supper on Friday evening, but it will only feed two, so I'll need to find something else for me. I haven't said anything, and I am still smiling, but I have mentally added something else to my cardigan order! :D

Today is church as usual, and I need to leave extra early due to those roadworks!

Good morning!

kitty ~
hmm... Haven't had much coffee yet, but the whole "bringing a pie for 2" thing struck me as kind of funny, too. Yeah... something really, really, really nice for that cardigan order. I'm assuming that's some sort of grocery thing. Okay... get my mind out of deviousness....

Today is going to be warmer, yay! Just heard the first bird chirp. I'm usually up before the birds are and I found that I quite look forward to their first "good morning." Speaking of birds.... I think I've mentioned our ongoing battle with birds that want to build nests on a little architectural platform that sits above our double front entry doors. G put a bed of nails on top a couple of years ago. This year... the birds have forged ahead to make a nest up there. I thought I could just knock the nail bed off but G nailed it down. Today.. need to get a step stool and clean it out. I'd leave it up, except bird nests mean bird poop - and nope - not above the entry. I feel kind of bad, because that robin looks like it's about ready to pop.

Okies.. off to QT.

Good morning/ good afternoon, Smilelee and L Ann!

Smilelee, as I find BIL's visits very, very difficult, this time I have hit on the idea of "rewarding" myself to stay nice, smiling and agreeable and calm and helpful throughout BIL's visit (the kind of thing "normal" people would do as a matter of course  ). So, as one of my favourite shops is currently having a very good sale, I picked out a pretty summer cardigan as my "bribe" and put it in my online shopping basket. However, preliminary signs for this weekend (the pie episode especially, but also the photos - I have told DH his school photos *might* be in the loft in one of the boxes labelled "photos" and if he will get the boxes down, I will go through them. I don't go up in the loft, and it would mean a couple of boxes out of there :D ) are indicating that the stakes are going to need to be higher! So I'll have another look online and possibly add a summer top, or even a skirt - we'll see what (if anything!) catches my eye.

I hope the errands are successful, L.Ann, and you find something nice that's reduced at Kohl's.

I'm finally back from church. On my way, MQ rang me (Fortunately I managed to get speaker phone to work! :D ) to say she had had a very difficult day yesterday, and hadn't been able to pick up a cake or card for G, who celebrates her 100th birthday this weekend! I was stuck in traffic at the time, but it wasn't too bad, so when I pulled into the churchyard I still had plenty of time to pick up a very nice cake from M&S Foodhall, and a card with 100 on it from the card shop opposite (for obvious reasons, there isn't nearly so much choice for a card saying 100, as there is for a card saying 70 or even 80!)

The service was very good, and we had a lovely celebration from G afterwards, and everyone had signed the card. I had a long chat with DF PM afterwards, and she had had a very nice birthday lunch last Sunday.

This afternoon is sunny, but not so warm.as it has been, and the wind is chilly. Still, I think I'll make the most of it and power wash the car. I haven't been upstairs yet to see if there are any boxes of photos awaiting my attention, bit of there are, they can wait until it's dark.

Today's list:
Up, shower etc, dress 😀
Everyone fed😀
Quick dust / hoover in sitting room 😀
Give DH instructions - if workmen turn up on today for Dnextdoorneighbour C 's fibre install. They can certainly use our path to work from, but *not* the actual garden, and the roses bite!😀( No sign of anyone when I got home, so they're evidently not coming today  )
OTD early to church 😀
Chat with MQ on phone😀
Errands -M&S Foodhall for birthday cake, 😀card shop for card😀
Church, followed by coffee and cake for G's 100th birthday 😀
Long chat with DF PM😀
Drive home 😀
Hoover car 😀
Lunch😀
A few minutes in garden 😀
Power wash car?
Do I need to tackle those photos? (My long term aim is to clear out some space in the under bed storage and keep them there, but I also need to do some judicious "pruning")
6-7 pm Waitrose delivery
PA groceries
Our supper - chicken soup
Kitties' supper

Dh gave me a pot of small roses for Valentines Day, Kitty. I wonder if they are fairy roses? The blooms were a variety of colors. Amazingly, after being quite neglected, they are still alive. In fact, I can see a new blossom developing! - That's smart - up the personal bribe value. :)
Smile, I love seeing the bird nests around our house -- but none are above the door. :? Did you get it down? Two of the nests on our property from last spring have been destroyed, both robin nests. One was in a tree, and I watched a blue jay tear it apart and throw it to the ground last fall. Another was on a 90 degree turn in gutter pipe by our garage. It just finally fell down. We still have one in the ivy of an external brick wall under the eaves of our house, and another on a turn in the gutter under the eaves. I think the gutter one is currently occupied by sparrows, and the ivy one is occupied by a pair of small songbirds with a red hue.
Enjoy the coffee shop/ playroom, L Ann with Little Bit!

kitty ~ I love your "reward" idea! I might steal that.
helian ~ I might've told this story a long time ago. When the kids were very young, a bird made a next in one of the window sills and laid eggs in it. I had forgotten to put the storm window back down after a very warm spring day. We had my sister's kids living with us and I thought, "Oh how cute! Won't that be educational for the kids!" The eggs hatched and the babies were SO cute and entertaining. And then the poop started building up. omg.. it was a mess!
trissie ~ so sorry it's been a stinky day. Hopefully, it will smooth out as the day goes on.
L.Ann ~ What is a coffee shop playroom?

Made it to the gym and did a few errands. Have showered, had lunch. Now to do some house tasks.
1. Reboot laundry
2. quick spiff
3. fridge boogie
