We had the dramatic reading too Kitty. We are informal Anglican, basement really, so no procession or donkey for that matter. It was the last Sunday for our Curate who is moving on and we have been told there is no replacement for however long.
Found out there is a Brick Church event at the Parish Church in the town tomorrow. We may go with dgs to it. It uses the brick moddelling which was made famouos by a Danish company who do not allow their trademark name to be used.
We had a good time in Torquay last long weekend with the Malcolm Saville Society.
Is the garden big enough to camp in Frenchie, with a day out somewhere in between two nights iyswim?
Palm Sunday

Re: Palm Sunday
Morning all. I better check in and get going on my day. Busier than I wanted it to be. But I did it to myself.
Church this morning. Then my intention is moving ds into his new room. Dh and ds can help with that. But I have to finish cleaning the floor first. And yesterday I had this crazy idea and said it to dad that they could come for supper if they are up to it. He can drive now just depends if he wore himself out too much yesterday and if mom is feeling good. She's so hard to figure out cause of lack of words.
Anyway I need to move ds. Stop at the store cause I think I'll get ds to roast a couple chickens on the grill. Figure out what else easy to make for supper. Early enough for mom and dad. And Church this morning.
I just thought it good to get them both out of the house for a bit and didn't consider the chaos of moving rooms and now I have to make myself focus so I don't get overwhelmed with just that tiny bit of several things at once... I want that overwhelm to go away...
Priority list
Church
Pick up a few groceries and something for supper
Finish cleaning floor in ds room (almost)
Put away paint stuff but not too far as I still want to use it eventually
Kitchen clean
Move ds furniture and such
Hang his curtains
Supper with mom and dad - bring it to them if they change their mind
Today's tada list
Soak in tub instead of shower
S&s both baths and reboot laundry
Put away the quilt and extra blankets I washed and hung to dry
Tidy laundry room and master bedroom some
Empty and reload dw
Finish tidying kitchen all the way Declutter island again
Finish cleaning up paint and floor
Finish getting ready for church and otd

Re: Palm Sunday
Those baskets look really nice, FFB! Going to the seaside sounds great if the weather is nice.
I hope DD32's stomach settles, L Ann.
Nice to see you vergers!
You've got a lot on your plate, Lauralind! Chicken on the grill sounds good.
I'm back from the 5K and have relaxed a bit with a cup of tea. The run was actually pretty fun! However, there were SO many walkers in the group I started with - and the groups ahead of me too - that I started to get irritated. I was dodging walkers, sometimes large groups of them, throughout the course. At one point, they completely blocked my way. Next time, I'll say I run faster than I do so I can get into a corral that starts earlier and hopefully before the hordes of walkers.
There were almost 11K participants in the event.
I've found Helgi and Erlend, a couple of Norwegian guys who do short (20 - 60 second) skits on youtube and probably other platforms. I find them very funny!! They make poke fun at other countries. And themselves.
Other Main Goals for Today:
1. Finish Exam Prep - AR AK and LBBR Exam + AK
2. Review my own final exam
3. Paperwork for Mom
4. GAS the car; it's almost on empty
Other Possible goals
- get a few groceries
- get a few items for Mom - pillows and some toiletries
- buy thank you cards
- bring floor lamps + odds and ends to NH; the lamps arrived yesterday after dh and I had gone to the NH
Next:
- s2s and self care
- make the bed
- reclaim the kitchen
Later:
- 5K run
- s2s and self care
- reclaim kitchen
- make the bed
- payroll: AK for AR exam
- payroll: make LBBR Exam + AK
- lunch at some point
- Mom's paperwork: fill out, scan, email to NH
- WF?
- drop off more stuff at the NH?
- 3:30 - 5:30 CG2 @ AA's place
- 6 - ? host dinner for 8 people
- after dinner clean up
- duo
- update health apps: WW + MFP
- payroll: can I start prep for tomorrow? A list of all vocab items??
TaDas!
- coffee
- email deletions + weather website
- back exercises
- dress to jog
- dropped off dh; found parking - had to walk about 15 minutes
- 5K run! + walked back to the car
I hope DD32's stomach settles, L Ann.

Re: Palm Sunday
Hello everyone!
Trissie, sorry about the lack of red gooseberry bushes - I think you're right to wait until the potted ones are ready, rather than risk an inferior leftover, that no one else wants!
I hope DD feels better soon, L.Ann.
FFB, that woven basket looks amazing! I think Vergers has an excellent idea to maybe put a tent up in the garden and sleep out in it for a night or maybe two?
Gma, I hope you still manage to enjoy church online.
Laura, I think getting DS moved into his room would be a huge boost - you would have one project finished, and he would have a lovely new room.
Good to see you, Vergers! We don't have a curate either ATM, we do have a (very) part time "interim" vicar, and a while group of mostly retired or self supporting clergy who "help out" when they can.
Helian, so sorry the race was spoiled for you by the walkers getting in the way. Hopefully once your DMum is settled in the new NH it will be less stressful for you.
Well, today we did end up having a procession after all. The palm branches were retrieved from their storage place, dusted off and given out to people who wanted to participate. The dramatic reading of the Passion was very effective, and apart from one set of the communion rails developing a "list" to one side
, and two of the candles suddenly deciding to burn right out and having to be replaced, all went well. Apparently the Cathedral *did* have a donkey, so we may possibly have one next year!
DF E was in good form, and she asked me to sort her phone out for her as a flashing green light had suddenly appeared, which, understandably she found irritating. Her phone is one that's designed to be straightforward for elderly people to use, but I still had to download the user manual on my phone and down online search before I could sort it for her.
Today's lunch was roast gammon with a whole grain mustard and honey glaze, roast potatoes, gravy, carrots and broad beans, roasted broccoli, followed by Panna cotta with raspberries and blueberries.
I've folded laundry and PA, and taken Fred for his walk. (He was desperate to go before church and see if yesterday 's pigeon was still there
, but as DH wanted to leave early, there wasn't time.)
This afternoon /evening, my aims are to work on the photos a bit more, to type that article for DF E and email it to SR, and maybe to write the report for MD. I would also like a little time iny garden. It's cooler today, and we had rain this morning, but it has dried up since then.
