Woke stunned to hear the radio talking about the Pope in the past tense. He was just out in public doing things yesterday. I really thought he was the right person to guide things with the state of the world as it is; I can only hope his successor will be even more suitable.
We had a lovely Zoom call yesterday with DH's family. Just about everybody was able to make it. Eldest BIL and his wife were on via phone while their younger son was doing the driving; their elder son was away at school. Middle BIL and wife had 4 of their 5 kids with them; the second eldest had been been over their house earlier, but they're in London, so it was considerably later for them than for the rest of us. SIL was actually there -- she has a habit of falling off the face of the earth. She got to show off the kitten she just got from the shelter. And youngest BIL and wife had all three of their kids on the call, though the middle one was Zooming in from her dorm room. DD and DC were both on at some point, but DC took a while coming downstairs, and DD dipped out a little early to work on a project.
Today has been groceries. I spent the morning finishing the list, and DH and DD (both off work today; DD has the entire week off) went out and did the shopping, then everybody put away groceries. DH has a Scout service project in less than an hour, so I will cook dinner when it is close to the time he will be getting home.
Glad your neighbors took care of the branches, Nancy! Let us know how the pizza turns out.

Sounds like all will be well fed, Lauralind! My DD also works with kids -- school aftercare, where she mostly works with the preschoolers. She often wears a mask to try to protect herself from the little germ factories!
blessed, I'm glad you found a good place for your mom. (This is just rehab, right?) You're right; the people doing the care are more important than the building, so long as the building isn't actually hazardous, of course.
Glad your mouth is feeling better, LadyM! Clearly, unlike me, you don't wait to do shopping until the cupboards are bare, since you could easily send pictures of what you wanted.
DH's service project has been cancelled; apparently the first shift of helpers finished everything. So he is cooking dinner after all -- kielbasa, sauerkraut, and potatoes.

) today was ds. He took the morning off work. Because public local school was out and each of his children had a plan - one sleepovering and the other having mother/daughter day - it worked out better for his household than ddolder's. Also, as ddolder pointed out, he was a confident one to have with me for getting out of car at home and into house.
