Let's do it! A new week, we're past a round of holidays, the week and the world is wide open for us. Maybe this is the time to get at some of those nagging OMMs (On my Mind) jobs that seem to hang around our brain. Or perhaps with spring we'll start a new long-awaited project. The world is wide open to us on Monday mornings!

Morning Twins thanks for opening. Waving to all who follow.
I woke up a bit after 4 by rain on the roof.
Caught up on my qt reading & some journaling too.
Planning my day and thinking of my week ahead.
Hoping to have the stove hood installed this week by Dgson.

I need to pay attn. to some chores floors & such.
Sunrise at 5:50 this week here.

made bed sorted
cloths washer is going
brought up food from deep freezer for meals later on.

Next few
more laundry going now
swept steps to basement promised myself I'd do that & did it!
swept deck off.
Made a San. for my lunch.
Fetch & processed mail.
Next load is in the dryer other one is out and folded.

Freeze warning are up wondering if I need to drain my hoses.
On a knitting break trying to get it re-knit back to where it was before.

Looked up a pizza recipe I want to try.
I am SO happy the neighbors have people taking dead branches out of the tree on the prop. line
on their side. I have been wondering about it & ask em to take care of em. One was a widow maker hung up
in the tree roof line issue. Gave em some of the Easter candy left here.

Walked ddoggo one a shorter walk b/c of the wind.

Pope Francis died this morning.

Due to the fact that it is a holiday here today (Easter Monday) schools are closed, a lot of other places are closed as well. Because the library is closed, there is no Monday morning fibre group. The senior's centre is also closed, so no knitting this afternoon either. I notice on the other board that it is a bank holiday in England as well. (That means the banks are closed, because of a holiday.)

I told dh I wanted an easy supper tonight.

Our "across the street" nieghbour is moving into a retirement home today. His brother is still in the hospital as far as we know. We saw a U Haul truck backing into his driveway earlier. Both of these men have lived on this street since they were born. The guy in the hospital has lived in the same house all his life. (he never married and wasn't very sociable) They are both older than us.

Oh Monday, so full of promise that evaporates once all those petty day to day OMMs sneak back in!

I have workout at two today, dh is home for dinner so I took out pork chops for the grill.

We had a relaxing morning here yesterday with guests, we talked and hung out and dh and guest dh (who is 6 feet four inches tall) rearranged some of our art. We took them up the mountain where we used to live to see the view and then on to the airport around two p.m. yesterday. Back home, we had lunch and regrouped and went to the river. V had to go out to a meeting but we hung our with A and V's adult dds on the deck overlooking the river. I enjoy V's dds almost as much as V; one will be leaving in August, at age 40, to go to rabbinic school. Relaxing, but I felt pretty peopled-out. We got home maybe 6:45 and I was exhausted. Walked ddog, ate sandwich, and collapsed for the evening.

Even tho the house looks pretty good, Monday morning always feels like I'm playing catch up. Right now it's laundry. I need to get a load started, then walk the ddog. Wil shower after workout today. Supper planned: pork chops, left over corn on the cob, asparagus if we have any left from Friday, and a green salad.

It's a bit of a confusing holiday here. Schools and banks and offices are closed. Because we work retail our store was closed yesterday. Today should be a full on freight day like usual. We booked it off because the kids came. Our dinner is tonight because it works best. Ds and ddil and dgs went to her family meal yesterday then.

Lots to do this morning. It's created itself into a potluck because dad decided before we did what he wanted to make. He's doing a couple pans of lasagna. Not sure what kind of hot dish my sister had in mind. Dd will do buns and green salad. Dd and I will work together here. Hot cross buns. Chicken wings. Meatballs. Maybe a broccoli salad. And possibly some cupcakes for desert.

All by 3 or 4 ish with supper are 5,? .

It is full of promise cause I have help. I always end up procrastinating. We were going to bake yesterday but.. well.. sunday turned into rest day. Dd started working at a daycare and she's been fighting a cold since shortly after she started. I feel like she could have a sinus infection.

mom: the place is so cheap looking but the people are the saving grace of this place - I have never met so many caring people in a nursing home; and I have been in quite a few Most of the women are from Africa - Amazing women - kind women. The place my mom lived at across the small street also hire the majority of women from Africa. I have always had a lot of respect for women that I have met around the world and I can honestly say these women are top notch.

we went to easter but I can see they can't quite grasp how bad it has been here with dh-they never came to see him this last time. I didn't say anything. I tried not to talk about mom bc I can see they don't understand.

I found the whole thing draining. Good thing: I am going to let it go.

Not much of promised cardmaking or genealogy but the day has moved along. Dh just came in to get himself lunch, I asked if he had fled the office because of the market losses this a.m., lol.

I have second load of laundry going, first is hanging up, Roomba is going, dog walked two laps earlier. Did some planning. This afternoon after my workout I need to pick up scripts, and while I'm at CVS will use some of coupons to replace sunscreen. I assessed what we have and threw out the ones that have expired. Also called to get water turned back on for HOA irrigation system. So I've been relatively productive.

Dh has headed back to the office. I need to set an alarm to remind me of workout, and first change clothes.

I'm late getting to the SHE village today because OBE.

I was out the door before 7:30am to the city for appt with dentist to get a cavity taken care of. I had some errands planned to do after that appt but my face felt too swollen so I just came home. 6 hours later my face has returned to normal and just have the normal ache/pain from dental work.

DS16 and GF are running my errands for me. There is some learning curve happening. I text DS16 my shopping list INCLUDING pictures of each item. He keeps calling to ask where items can be found in the store. Apparently over the past decade of shopping with me, he didn't pay the slightest attention. Some of his questions made sense but other phone calls questions were eye rolling funny. Knowing how to shop is definitely a necessary life skill.

Coming back through after workout. I got there late (again!) partly because I needed to talk to yard people before I left and partly because of construction that I can't seem to remember is ongoing. But had a wonderful workout. Worked hard and I feel good but not exhausted. Still need to walk ddog and I'm approaching 8K steps. Stopped at drugstore after workout and spent $35 on sunscreen. I needed to replace a lot because most had expired - I tend to keep 30, 50 or 55, and 70 around - there are times we're out all day and I need the strong stuff because I'm very fair.

Roomba is paused to recharge. I know that feeling! Next up I need to walk ddog and s2s. I just received an email reminder of a Zoom meeting this evening, I had forgotten about it so glad she sent the reminder. We'll need to have supper on the early side. In other news, there's only a small corn on the cob piece left, it looks like dh was hungry for it yesterday.

Wow, just heard garage door. Dh is home already.

It is a life skill LadyM. My dh hasn't entirely learned it yet. I think he hates to ask where things are so sometimes says that didn't have it. And sometimes his interpretations of my list are eyerolling funny like the time he interpreted "cuke" as "coke." I guess I can see how it happened but I'm trying to do better if I make a list for him. I often abbreviate for myself.

Need to go take shower and figure out timeline for supper and to get upstairs by 7.

Our week is filling up and I may need to put my foot down. We have friends (actually Z's aunt/uncle whom we saw when Z, our other son, was here) volunteered to bring firewood and are doing that on Wednesday p.m. Two neighbors want to get together this week but one is busy on Friday night, and we are seeing Hamilton on Saturday afternoon with A and V and will have dinner out with them after, then home to pack.

Dh bowls tomorrow night.
