Morning all. Trissie that sounds like a great vacation. Your kids probably require more space than when they were smaller too. But new adventures next year. And off to the cottage now. Enjoy.

Oohh Harriet I don't like those nights. I hope you get some rest time today.

Wtg with kitty nails etc kittykat. I really should do that especially stella. She has daggers and doesn't go outside to wear them down like the others. Disadvantages of letting them have free run with the pet door. I found all 3 yunguns enjoying an outdoor treat they thought I should see in the middle of the living room. Yuck.

Well my plan is to be productive this morning as much as I can. Not looking forward to the rest of the day. Tomorrow I go for the yucky test. No food today and nasty drink at noon. I can do some stuff this morning and maybe whb? Or go deal with the greenhouse a little? Hmmm I guess I better tell dad I'm out of commission for a few days. I'm fine now until the prep stuff starts working and I really hope this new treatment will be better as last time I got so sick. I have today and tomorrow off and then flex Thursday Friday to see if I'm up to work.

Dh goes to work in an hour. I should do some routine. I told my sister I would go water again this morning. They went to get a new pickup and decided against it and couldn't get a return flight till this morning.

Then decide what to do. Need to check in on mom and dad anyway. He called at 9 15 Saturday night and I missed it . Tried returning his call and he must have gone to bed. He didn't call back in the morning. Assuming everything was fine.

I think I will get busy sooner than later and see what I can procrastinate my thoughts with by being busy.

Harriet, I hope you were able to fall back asleep peacefully. I've experienced that - too many thoughts in one's head to sleep.
The vacation sounded lovely, trissie. That's a fast turn around for another vacation trip - but that also sounds fun!! Glad you got K's tooth taken care of.
How is Dd32, L Ann?
I like learning about birds, Kitty. The mistle thrush is new to me. We have a good variety here since our neighborhood, including a strip of our property, is somewhat forested. Glad you could take care of Fred without incident.
Oh, Lauralind, sorry about the nasty prep drink. Hoping it all goes better than expected.

I got 5/7 goals done yesterday. Walking and picking up my prescription did not happen. They'll happen today, hopefully. Well, walking will be transformed into jogging.

Dh's bd dinner last night was a success! I think he felt well-celebrated. There was enough leftover quinoa and black bean mix that I now have another meal stocked away in our freezer. :). Dd27's GF chocolate cream pie was to die for!! SO SO delicious! We all say that if she ever wants a new career, she could open a GF bakery in our small city. The Cs brought puppy Raven over, so it was fun to play with her. She's so tiny and fluffy compared to the lab puppies we've always had!!

The scale this morning showed a number I haven't seen for over a year, I'm sure -- perhaps longer. I tried to navigate the social eating weekend well (social events Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evening - each with dessert), but apparently it could have been done better. I have 2 days before we leave on our trip; I'll do my best, though there is another social gathering for dinner tomorrow evening. :|

The heat has broken and it is much cooler today. :)

I have been following the Texas floods. Such a catastrophe. We lived in Austin, TX for 8 years, not far from the areas of flooding. I checked in with the Ks; they're out of the state right now but their property is fine - but more heavy rain is expected for the Austin area today. The Ys live a little farther north.

☀️ Good Monday morning!

Thanks for the start, kittykatt. I’m glad you survived the pedicure with no injuries. I’ve never trimmed my cats nails until recently. Several cats have started the bad habit of laying near me and kneading my arm/leg/whatever body part is in reach and sinking their claws in. Weird new habit that must be broken. I’ll be reading or watching tv and suddenly get stabbed by a needle feeling which isn’t very nice of them.

Trissie, welcome back and have a good trip lol. Sorry for the tooth trouble in between trips but you handle it all so well. Today sounds crazy busy so I’m glad you’re rested up to deal with it before you go on your next break.

Harriet, I do hope you get some cool air and can rest up. What area of the country/world are you in? I’m at the bottom of Alabama and the AC runs constantly. I worked outside yesterday and had to take a break from the heat just to tidy up the porch which is shady. I’m ready for fall weather.

Laura, good luck on your test, it will all be over soon. Hope parents are well.

Helia, sounds like a fun weekend filled with puppies, parties, and most goals met. Gotta leave something to do today lol. The flooding news is so horrible, it doesn’t seem real. Praying for the families that must be hurting beyond words right now.

Today is for routines, none of which I’ve done yet. I’ll get on them soon enough. For now coffee is in order as I’ve been piddling my morning away watching cooking videos.
♥ Wake each day expecting good things to happen! ♥

Good morning, all. Thank you for starting us off Kittykatt. I remember reading that our robins are misnamed, a completely unrelated species called by the same name because they were the same colour as yours. Which explains why your literature is filled with adorable interactions with robins and our robins just stare us down like "Do I have to get a restraining order against you?"

Hooray for manicures without bloodshed!

Welcome home, trissie. I take as a very good sign that you got to relax enough to read three books on vacation. There's nothing wrong with trying something new next time. You never know what discoveries you will make.
I'm glad that your DH was able to get DtDK to the dentist right away.

These are trying times for our air conditioners, Harriet. I hope that you get some rest later in the day.

Lauralind, I'll bet that you can't wait for that test to be over with. Just be kind to yourself.

WTG on getting so many of your goals accomplished, helia. I'm glad that your DH's birthday celebration was a success.

Hi, Bama. I have the coffee pot on, and I'm happy to share.

Bama, looks like your cats think you need acupuncture treatment!
helia, happy belated birthday! I am slowly catching up on last week in my breaks :-)
lauralind, remember you need to take it easy today - your energy levels are likely to be lower due to the test preps!
hi there, Dogged! I still haven't gotten to how was your vacation, pray tell!

TaDas
- 30 on laundry
- 30 in garden
- clean/wash fridge
- loaded CPot with spaghetti for dinner (trying a new recipe)

ToDos
- hopefully final 30 on laundry
- 30 in garden

Thanks for the well wishes and yes it will be over with soon. I have done some dusting in the bedroom and wiped out and tossed some stuff from one kitchen cabinet. I found some water flavoring back there that I can use today and a bottle of liquid b12 that I can use up. A few odds and ends to put away and the kitchen is clean.

I should go check on my sister's plants right away and maybe I will see if dad went to town. I'll call him when I get back.

I'm moving slow today. I'm just worried last time it made me really sick. But I have different stuff it's just in a glass of water a couple times instead of the giant jug.

My vacation was great, trissie. I hung out with my dbrother and his bff and we all enjoyed it. His bff invited us out for dinner one night, and we went out to pick up some wine before. I said to my brother that we should pick up some flowers, but he said that there were no flower shops nearby. I said "The grocery store is right there." (two stores down in the same strip mall.) He told me that they don't have flowers and I said "Why don't we check?" and that started one of those debates that only siblings have, because we have the same memories going back to the 1960's and can call on them to support our cause. It ended with us agreeing to disagree, that grocery stores in Ontario (where I live) carry flowers and that grocery stores in Quebec don't (though I knew that when I lived in Quebec they did), and that we would go and look just to humour me. We went into the store and I said that if they have them, they will be near the front. He waved his hand and said "See? No flowers." I walked up to the closest cash and right there at the front of the counter was the display of flower bouquets. You had to literally reach past the flowers to put your groceries on the conveyer belt. It was about 5 feet high, so right at eye level. I just picked up a bouquet and stared at him. I couldn't stop laughing about that later. But it really was just a case that he wasn't looking for them so he never saw them.
Just one of those sibling moments that make for the family memories, LOL. My db is recovering from a bypass and I was really sore from the trip the first two days, so we mostly enjoyed just hanging out together and gabbing. My nephew came over for dinner one day. It was great to see him too. He lives on the far side of the city from my db, and it takes a couple of hours to make the trip on the local buses. I always stress that I am happy to drive him during my vacation as I rent a car, and he told me how much easier it makes it for him that I do that. Just good feelings all around.

Don't try to take on tasks that take you away from the washroom today, Lauralind. Your dad will have to manage for a couple of days.

Haha nope I'm not going anywhere afternoon. I just told dad so he doesn't go and decide he wants to do some and expect me to be able to Wednesday.

The more I talk to him the more I think we had med issues with mom for a while. She's been up and about most of the day the last week or so. Combining the wrong ones didn't help. And I wonder if the dementia one was causing more side effects than helping. I really was beginning to think she was sliding down a slippery slope.. time will tell.

Plants are watered. If I was smart I would do a Casper walk now as i will have to force ds to do it after
But Casper can be patient too. I feel like resting today. Laundry. . Floors. We'll see I really should vacuum. I dunno

Welcome back fro mvacation, trissie. Glad you and the family had a good time. And that the tooth issue waited until your return so the regular dentist was available. Enjoy the next adventure!

That sounds like a good brother-sister time, doggedly.

laurlind, the prep is generally worse than the procedure. It is amazing how medications can affect soemone. A "vacation" from almost all meds is sometimes ordered, to see what is really needed.

Bama, our ancestors must have been tougher than we, to manage the heat, and before refrigeration, not even ice cubes in the beverage! Wouldn't it be nice if there was a meal ready, and a clean kitchen, after watching a cooking video?

helian, I saw that you were managing to get a jog in. WTG! hooray for happy birthday party! I'm sure dh appreciated it. Enjoy your trip to the Park!

harriet, I hope you can function today with the rough night of sleep. I had dreams that woke me up early, so didn't sleep well either.

kittykatt, thanks for the birdie start! I enjoyed listening to the song on the link. I hope you can get all those things done before dh retires.

I'm back from osteoporosis/ osteopenia injection. It really stings!!! when going in. I'm glad I don't have to do it to myself. I chose the higher premium insurance, mostly because there's no bookkeeping I have to do: No deductible. I had mild side effects last month, I'll pay attention this month too.
I did some exercises this morning, and now my arm muscles feel it. Guess I need to keep at it so I can get stronger. And burn some calories to lose weight - I'm up higher than I have ever been - probably since I have been on crutches and haven't been doing the walking I always did before my foot injury was diagnosed. And maybe because I like cookies and cake better than vegetables

dfBS has dr appointment today. I am afraid her lung disease is getting worse, and causing heart failure, which is also becoming a problem to deal with. So I am missing a retirement party for an acquaintance.
Guess i need to make a list for what to do today -
go buy a retirement card, or at lest make a handwritten note.
3 pictures to deliver - Mom and I were going through pictures and found these pictures, that we don't need to keep, and those in them might like to have them.
Donwannas- how about if I coax myself to do 10 minutes of decluttering? Maybe the desk where I am sitting? (Then I won't have to move much, and can be kinda lazy)
