Was not a successful day at the library. I pulled a bunch of county books for the counties this guy lived in and checked them for the period that he supposedly lived there. I got four hits on Mecklenburg Co. NC, where he supposedly lived from 1794 to 1814. He was listed in tax lists for 1799, 1798, 1799 and reported 200 acres of land but then there's not lists again until 1808 and he doesn't appear again. No record of buying land or selling land. And he's on a jury list in 1801.None of that helps connect him to his prospective son, born in NC in 1794. I checked the TN counties and found nil. I had already used the full text search at FamilySearch and found little there either, so checking the books was a next level effort.
So I'm tired and basically found nothing.
On the cemetery: the company that typically does our monuments tried for two days to get in touch with the guy who is the chair and couldn't get in touch with him, so called the prior cemetery chair. She wanted me to go with her to do it - the are some sunken areas and she doesn't walk well anymore. But she got in touch with him after she left the message for me, and he agreed to do it. I drove by the cemetery today and checked, and it's done. We need to get the company who mows, etc., to bring in some soil (or move what we have) because this grave (from December) has settled a lot.

I have pinned the legs on the pj''s to hem need to try them on first.
Then pin the pocket in place.
At least the other pr. has pockets.
Cleaned the kitchen sinks.
Glad to see neighbors getting to the waist high grass in their border rocks.
high 90's in the next week here.
It is less smokey out now.
But still too warn to enjoy it outside much.
Cancelling my plans for a deck sleep out nite to see the solar activity.
Still holding out hope to put on a swimming suit and a cotton dress over it and play in the sprinkler.
Then pin the pocket in place.
