nurse came :D
ordered from a river for mom
today: cook

get mom to walk, exercise, finding that mom is not getting intellicutal time or exercise like I would like - I sent home our caretaker a bit early bc she put mom in front of the tv and was on her phone. I find that it is hard to constantly keep mom going but we as a family have to fill that time. I took mom out and we watched the sun go down - I put on French music and we stayed outside for 2 hours. it was a lovely time.
-vacuum
-put away
-room by room
-learning
-clean bird baths and dog pools - refill
-pick up and put away in garden
I have to wash mom's hair in the morning
-learning
round robin zone work
-

dd younger is going to try to take mom to b & Nobles

-I couldn't figure out why my verbena b. died - I emptied the container and it had what seemed to be, thousands of ants and ant egg. I have to move the soil to the back of the garden (it is on the patio). I wanted the ants to calm down over night so that they don't bite me so much. I emptied the big container - refilled with fresh dirt and planted a fall display: 3 brilliant sedum, a north wind grass, 3 purple small cabbage, 3 yellow type rebeckia - it looks really nice- perfect for fall and they can be put in the garden this fall

this morning mom was wide awake at 5:30 am talking to herself - dogs had to go out - mom chatted a lot - I was going to go in there but I did take a peak. I heard her talking to dd older at 6:30 when she came back from yoga. I checked again - the clock ding/donged at 7, took a cat nap, mom talked , ding/dong it was 8:00 - I tiredly woke up and made breakfast for mom. helper and I got mom up, helper cleaned her, I put out breakfast for mom and then I laid down for a bit. (I am still tired but the day is running away from me).
mom has been mentally with it for 2 days straight.
weak but with it.

Wasps! So sorry bw2, they can be a pest! The activity is good for your mom, I'm sure.

The cyber-aunties are so proud of Wonderboy, Harriet! Glad HRH is gaining weight back too. Recovery for the family!

You're always up so early Nancy! And congrats on your exercise streak over in Health and Fitness...that's amazing!

Hope the dermatologist appt goes well, RR, and you aren't subjected to a bunch more surgery.

Was the shed unsightly, Cathy? I can imagine all the men out watching the process of getting it down and hauling it off.

LadyM had quite a streak of ta-das going this morning! Impressive.

I've done some dailies, a.m. routine, texted about dog sitting for our next trip.

up next:
-process basil that's in refrigerator to freeze
-take a look at our will/trust documents. Lawyer is pushing us to move on - to execute or indicate changes.

We're home, lunch eaten.
Joining LadyM on Mexican food but just the most common chain everyone knows. I get the black bean "crunchwrap" and HRH gets a layered burrito, kinda custom to be sure he gets what he wants. He goes in to order. We haven't been there in a while, and he was disappointed in the service. Automated rather than someone speaking to you, or even saying "hello". He is NOT a fan, but order did turn out right somehow. They list on the order receipt now how many sauce packets they give you - that was a new one.

Twins', the plans for letting craft supplies go are moving right along. Good job preserving basil for later.
I wanted to get sprouts started this a.m. but we were too rushed. Hopefully tomorrow. Needs to be a morning start.

Cathy, I hope the neighbor's building construction/change is just an attractive new addition, not a lot of noise for a long while.

blessed, my goodness that sounds like a lovely planned planter with pretty choices.

Ramblin', I hope the dermatologist is pleased with healing.

Nancy, so glad you didn't have the smokiness outside today.

Work on the kitchen is up next since we had to get ready to leave so early today. Have already gotten trash out.
I feel as though the day is disjointed, but maybe back on track soon.
Watering indoor plants little by little. (bottom watering)

Hey, all!

I do not have much in the way of ta-das so far; I got sucked into Reddit in between dropping DC at school and picking them up. I did make sure to pick them up soon after class, so we would get home in time to work on the playroom.

I was ticked with them yesterday. They said they were going to stay a bit after class and see what was going on, and they'd call me for pickup. Well, around 3:30 I messaged them to ask if it would be soon, because I didn't want to go in rush hour. Silence. Sent again 15 minutes later. Still nothing. Called -- they were at their girlfriend's. I reminded them that I wasn't taking them to their girlfriend's until they finished their online driving class -- and that included picking them up; they could take the bus home. (Not an easy thing; it requires waiting a fair while for a transfer in an industrial part of town. If it were easy to get to/from there by bus, they wouldn't be asking me to drive so often.) So when I picked DD up from work, we went straight to the ice cream shop -- first day of school tradition. I was not in a mood to go home and wait for DC to get home heaven knows when. But while we were at the ice cream shop, I looked at the hour and wondered whether they were on their way home yet. They were by that point at the transfer spot waiting. So my heart softened and I got them a slush. As it turned out (I wanted a dip cone, so I had to stay at the shop and eat it right away -- certainly couldn't eat it while driving), we arrived home at the same time. So today, I was not interested in hearing why they might like to stay after class.

But my lone ta-da thus far is doing some more work on the playroom. We got some more things pitched -- DD thought about taking them to school for her little ones to play with and decided they were not in good enough condition to do so.

Meanwhile, you have all been pumping out the ta-das! I suppose the best I can do is to make a list of to-dos and see if I can turn them into ta-das:

Put binders and folders from yesterday's file project in to the "office"
Clean shelf where files had been stored
Move box of CDs to shelf
Clean out paper sorter that lives above there and move it to shelf
Wash and hang a load of DH's dress shirts
Plan dinner and make salads if necessary
Get a bag of sugar
Make currant syrup before the currants go bad!

I will be back with my progress -- time to take DD to work.

Smoke is back unhealthy for sensitive groups.

Took a tour of the new jail.
No occupants yet, saw county commissioner, a neighbor, a realtor dad of a neighbor, and former pastors wife. &
a couple I recognized from a church I used to go to. They had three groups going at once was the thing to do today for
sr. citizens. Got quite a bit of info.

It is located across the land fill.

Did some more writing, went so I'd have some thing different to write about and a new experience.
One time we took a tour of a vary old no longer operational prison in Montana.
-----
Bs tanked so I took care of that.
s2s happened & I rested.
Had some protein after the carbs.
Did up the dishes & got em put away.
Worked on some of my dinner.

I know the shed had been there for many years. The man next door wanted a larger shed. I'm sure that his wife wanted a nicer looking one.

I went and laid down to read just after 12. There was the sound of hammering, but it wasn't too loud or annoying. I fell asleep and slept for close to 2 hours. The noise has completely stopped. I know the shed was built to order and that they do the walls at a local factory and they just have to put the walls together and put the roof on after they get here. Dh wasn't out for very long and I don't think he actually went next door. We cannot see the shed from our house as it is behind our large garage.

Dh and I reviewed the documents for our will and a trust and I got some answers. He had a question and insisted that we go to office to meet with attorney, then we'll sign at another meeting. I suggested that he could call with question but that wasn't good enough, so I emailed with additional info and asked to set up and appointment (with cc to dh) and paraprofessional suggests that he call her, lol. So the ball is in his court, not mine. [Vent} But he's aggravated at me - I needed to go out to send off two packages and suggested we go to Publix for briskets for RH - he asked earlier when I was planning to buy. But he was put out when I suggested a lane change, then put out again when I tried to make room in the garage refrigerator for the briskets, and got in his way. Just trying to be helpful, that's me. Whoops, also asked him to walk ddog this afternoon before bowling [Vent over] It's all an adjustment.

He commented this a.m. that he's adjusted very well to retirement and I said I think it's been harder on me. So I'm upstairs for a while letting him cool off and adjust to retirement. [Smirk.]

I think someone is coming after 5 p.m. to purchase the pantry door that is on Facebook Market. There's a tiny bit of garage decluttering. And about the stamping stuff, I'm not selling much of it compared to all I've listed and still have. But I'm good with donating if it doesn't sell.

I can count mailing those packages and buying brisket among my ta-das, also reviewing the documents. I'm ready to sign, personally.

I think I'm going to stamp for awhile... will be good for me.

For Tuesday Taco night, I decided to switch things up. Instead of restaurant food, I made Zatarain's beans and rice paired with Chicken and Two-Cheese Mini Tacos. Both dishes were incredibly easy to prepare—just a single pot simmering on the stovetop while the tacos cooked in the air fryer.

DD14 is having a new experience—our socially awkward teen has decided to join her classmates in decorating their float for Friday's parade. I couldn't be more thrilled about this! She started after school and plans to work on it until 8pm.

Nancy, that seems to be a very interesting tour, the newly built jail. You don't see that every day.

Mystery, I'm sort of glad you got your brood all back home again with the same transport. Nothing to worry further about when they're all under the roof.

Didn't know that blessed's ddolder goes to yoga so early in the morning.

Pharmacy called and HRH's script he's been wondering about was ready. So I hopped in the car with him and off we went for a second trip out today. Not getting as much done around the house this way, but it has been a pretty day and not very hot. Sometimes it's just good to get out for a while. The kitchen did get a good solid spif.

Because I was tempted by a YT on next year's planners (the Lang is gorgeous, but I can't use it - art takes up random day's spaces and I know that would drive me crazy), my "feed" from the algorithm on YT suddenly changed. I began getting all these decorating ones, strangely "on the money" for me.

Down the rabbit hole into Cottage style homes I went. That's actually pretty close to what happened, because some were about decorating in the illustrated manner of old or children's literature like The Wind in the Willows, or the Beatrix Potter books, etc. The cozy homes of woodland creatures are an inspiration that either : 1) I didn't know I needed, or 2) I'm already leaning toward and didn't realize the influence! Have been walking 'round the house looking broody ever since, talking to HRH about rearranging furniture and bemoaning our plaster-wall obstacle against hanging very much.
