The grief is likely to come in waves,
helia, and you did well to let yourself process it. What show did you watch?
I'm getting kinda sick of all those apples! And even literally, as I keep munching on little cuttings and it's driving my blood sugar all over the place (lots of fiber and no long sugars or proteins and somehow my sugar is dropping really bad). We didn't have any real lunch, but I gotta do better about dinner! And it's family movie night and I'd like us to do two episodes of Chernobyl and since we've been up early, we need to go to bed early too.

Hi, Gma.
Thanks for starting us off, trissie. I see that all of your dkids have an enjoyable outing lined up today. Yikes about the blood sugar. Is there something that you can eat to counteract the apples?
I'm glad that the concert went well, Kittykatt.
Have fun at sports, FrenchFly's dsons. Crossing my fingers for your job applications and your DH's.--oh, I see that they are back and learning to navigate conflict.
(((helia))) You have so many sad duties to work on. No wonder you feel sad and not motivated. Taking some time out to relax with DH was no doubt the best strategy.
Hi, Peaches.
I was lazy yesterday, so today's goal is to get laundry done before the rush starts, and to get the cottage roll into the slow cooker early enough to monitor it.

((helian)) These are sacred duties. I 'm sure it is difficult to be emptying out her room. Is your brother still there - I'm thinking he has gone as you said you are cleaning guest rooms at your house as well.
trissie, our smaller towns have volunteer fire departments in the US. Only larger cities have paid fire departments, and they do much more than deal with fires. Twins not in Scouts means that parents have to plan other activities, and see to it that those lessons are learned that would otherwise happen in scouts.
I can't find my glasses. Fortunatley I have 2 pair, not both the same, but the secondary pair will do, intil I find the primary pair. (The secondary pair was lost for a while when I first go up this monring, but I did find them with a diligent search. Alarm woke me at 0900! I slept hard last night.
breakfast eaten
weight same as yesterday (so nearsighted I can't see the scale without my glasses!)
DW running (because I loaded it last night but was so tired I forgot to put the soap in and start it...)
PFT - plan for today
get dressed
water grass seed
take pictures of yard while seed is being watered
go to Walmart and have them made into 8x10s so mother can see the yard while she is confined due to COVID. This is her 4th of 10 days.
Buy 2 TY cards for the co-chairs of our High School reunion committee
Bring pictures to NH for mother
Get large coffee pot at mother's to bring to the reunion venue
Slice up veggie rolls that I attempted for appetizer buffet at reunion
Get dressed for reunion and be there by 3:30 for final touches and start the coffee - we are older and things happen earlier for a lot of them

Thanks everyone!! I'm giving myself to process grief in the way I need to.
trissie, I was watching NCIS, a really old whodunit show on Netflix. A bit male-centric, imho, but some interesting short murder mysteries, though there are a lot of plot holes. Is Chernobyl a documentary of the incident?
Hi Peaches.
Gma, I always have a back up pair of glasses in my purse! Yesterday, I had to use them at payroll bc I'd left my regular pair at home.
What is a cottage roll, Doggedly? Hope you were able to beat the rush with your laundry.
I'm home, eating lunch. Not sure when dh and I are going to the nursing home. He's off watching Fable right now. Maybe after he's done, like around 2? I still need to shower though.

Of course I know NCIS,
helia! I agree it's one that's easy to binge watch

But I stopped watching it after beginning of season 10, because some cast member changes meant that I was missing the spark that was no longer there (I really don't wanna do any spoilers, if you're past season 10 you of course know what I am referring to!

I think NCIS is still airing, season 23 or something, and there's a major spin off that just started this fall. I would absolutely love to see that one, but it's not available on any streaming services currently operating in Czech Republic
And yes, Chernobyl is the HBO dramatic documentary. It's very good, rather very accurate - me and DH have already seen it - and I consider it a good educational source on chemistry, physics, biology and history for middle schoolers. I think the part that my kids were most shocked about was the sweep-it-under-the-rug attitude combined with complete disregard for human safety and human lives. Sweet summer children they are!
