Oh trissie, I'm glad you got to see your grandmother. Sometimes a little alcohol is what is needed. Is your grandma expected to leave the hospital soon? Families can be very complicated. My family has its complexities too; I have an estranged older brother - also adopted, whom I have not seen for 43 years. Nor do I have any idea how to get in touch with him if I wanted to. My brothers and I are not genetically related to each other or my parents -- and the whole lot of us are extremely different from each other. That's all I'll say. . .
I hope the new neurologist is good, Bama. Maybe staying busy is helpful.
WTG on getting a walk in, L Ann. I hope you can rest and hydrate today.
Homemade rice pudding - yum, Gma! I hope your mom will appreciate it. You're very dedicated to make pureed food for your Mom.

Looking for mojo to get going this afternoon. I think groceries will be next so dh can make his pasta dish for the group tonight. I need some items I can only get at WF so I'll go there and maybe order other things from Kroger.

Helia, you’ve been through a lot lately. I hope you’re doing well today. I’m with you on estranged families. I have 3 brothers and have seen or talked to them more since mom passed than in decades before. Still not much, but some. I’m grateful that at least we aren’t fighting over wills and such. They don’t communicate well but we all seem to be fair minded. I pity mom’s brother’s kids as they split their inheritance, they’re not so nice. (Part of mom’s inheritance is what her dad left her and her siblings and gets split up now since all 3 siblings passed within a few years of each other).

helia, so your older brother doesn't even know that both his parents are dead? Is he not even involved in inheritance? Here, disinhering a child is a complicated process, and in any case even a disinherited child needs to be informed by the inheritance trustee (because of possibility of appeal of the disinheritance).
hi Peaches!
L.Ann, drink up - and I promise to follow suit (water, thank you :-)
Bama, you have a lot on your plate as well! :-(

Tried a new recipe, and the kids didn't like it. Oh the joys of conservative eaters!

Hello everyone!

Trissie, I'm glad you were able to see your Grandmother, and that she recognised you. I still have 10 roses to prune, including the climbing rose. The other 9 are still flowering nicely, so probably ok to leave for a bit, bit I really need to get the climbing rose do e and the branches tied in, as Dneighbour S has said to Dnextdoorneighbour C that he wants to paint our side of his fence that runs across the end of our gardens, and showed her the paint he's bought. From the sound of it, it's exactly the same tin of paint that he showed me last year and said he wanted to paint the fence "within the next couple of weeks" ... and nothing happened. So I'm not panicking too much. I'll carry on my slow and steady progress, and if Dneighbour S decides he really does want to paint his fence before I've finished, he can always start at Dnextdoorneighbour C 's end!😀 ( Somehow I have my doubts that this really will take place soon, but I could , of course, be wrong!)

L.Ann, thank you for reminding me that I needed to drink more water too ( vigorous housework in a sun-filled room this morning, followed by a walk there and back to DF PL's house left me dehydrated, despite a cup of tea. I read somewhere that it takes about an hour for the ester you drink to have an effect on rehydration, and I think that's probably true, as it was getting on for an hour before my energy levels started to rise again).

Helian, I'm glad you're being kind to yourself today. I'm sorry about your eldest brother. What's left of my family is best described as "fractured and dysfunctional", and probably best to leave it at that  Not much admin done today, but I've done a few little spring cleaning jobs in the sitting room, and also final got those curtains and the pictures lback up. I really need to send out the group email for October's parish lunch, but that's a job nest tackled when I'm fresh, so I'm thinking tomorrow!

Hoping DH gets his test soon, Bama. You've also got a lot on ATM.

Gma, the rice pudding sounds both delicious and nutritious.

Hi, Peaches!

I had a little time in my garden first thing, and pruned a little more of the climbing rose. Then I tackled the sitting room and also did a little more spring cleaning in there. After lunch I walked to DF PL's house, to have a cup of tea with her and hear all about her holiday. Unfortunately, the holiday was a bit of a disaster, as the other couple fought continuously the whole time. But we had a good catch up, and then I walked back home along the stream. I've sorted out the Amazon S&S and paid the butcher for tomorrow 's delivery, but that's all on the admin front for today! I'm waiting for the second curtain that goes across the stairs case in winter to go osh washing, then I'll hang it over the kitchen drawer to dry overnight.
