Haven't actually been able to get to my desk today. This is the first I've been able to be on the computer. Things seem better. No delays.

Ddolder was here for a while. We've gotten ourselves locked out of the storage building and she thought she might have a key. We'll see if ds can manage it. The Walt Disney quote about doors made me smile.

Have dealt with fruit flies or gnats as blessed was mentioning a few days back. Ugh. I thought we'd had a year without those but they're just late, I guess.

I decided the sprouts just weren't going to sprout well this batch and will try that again another day. They spent too long soaking ahead of time.

I've sorted the final time for fabric I will probably use for my project and put all else away.

((Gracie)), feel better.

Finally! I have missed being able to come here.

Life has been hectic. The usual activities (school and homeschool) were mixed with three appointments on today’s calendar, plus DS17’s antics. This morning, DS17 was up at 7 a.m. to meet with someone interested in buying a vehicle he was selling. The buyer wanted his mechanic to inspect the vehicle, so DS17 drove it to the city for the evaluation. After the sale went through, it was off to the bank and tag agency to finalize everything.

After everything settled down, I stepped outside and noticed a black car parked in our driveway. It's not uncommon for different vehicles to show up in our driveway, but we usually know who they belong to. At one point today, we had seven vehicles here thanks to DS17's groupies. I called DS17 to see if he knew why it was there. Anyway, the mystery car belongs to his boss's wife, and she wants DS17 to sell it for her. DS17 has gained a reputation for his knack for selling vehicles and actually enjoys the back-and-forth negotiations involved.

The instant pot and stove top have been busy this afternoon. No one will go hungry.

Tonight is the annual chili cook-off contest, an event I always look forward to. While some contestants are quite predictable, the judges change every year, making it impossible to guess which flavor and texture will take the top prize.

I was wondering earlier if any one still uses instapot LM has helped me figure that out.
I found the booklet that came with mine so I can re-home it.

Fire has died down and I"ve replaced the racks over it did not want to do sausage cheese dogs
as it up set my tummy tum tum yesterday. But I do have enough for another fire pit fun day
later maybe in 2-4 weeks or so.

I kept back a box to cut open and put on the truck liner as it's bump and hoping that would make
it better for some things in it.

Duds are done.
Kitchen is good as it got a break today.
Ddoggo is enjoying the left overs I decided were not a go for me this week.

I have no idea who fixed our issues with the boards. but a massive THANK YOU!!

As per usual, dh is stretched out on the bed after watching the leading stories on our "local" news station. Cats have all enjoyed their supper as well.

None of the cats feel that it is their job to help mom-of-cats, AKA "Can opener" (me) clean up after a meal. They have disappeared to their respective private bathing spots for their post-meal cat clean up and nap.

I have had a nice hot shower. Now I'm going to go stitch for a while.

Cathy and all who ponder why different internet sites had trouble for different lengths of time - this is what I've learned:

For two days, "we" (as in, earth's interweb folk who touch on Amazon Web Services, even slightly) experienced difficulty after a

“disruption of an underlying internal subsystem responsible for monitoring the health of network load balancers.” - Amazon Web Services

HRH says that when something this large occurs, we can think of it as the "big roads" getting attention first, while smaller sites wait like residential streets within the "backlog" (AWS' used the word backlog to explain on Monday, but it's an old computing concept word). The order in which the backlog can receive attention has to do with whether a site has a single destination that opens onto the entire site, as, for instance, his favorite game does, or many pages (as phpBB sites do). Attention can be given more quickly to single-destination sites, even if they have many users online (say, ambushing each other and fighting monsters together in elaborate landscapes), but the multiple-page, multiple-address sites wait.

I assume (smile) that because this situation seems to have its original trouble in Virginia, and half of the complaints came from the East Coast of US, our physical proximity may have put us into a greater likelihood of troubles. This has happened 3 times in the last 5 years on the East Coast I also read, and in general it isn't that rare.

We got a call from the electrician asking how early was too early in the morning, yay!
I told HRH to tell him that dawn was fine if it helped him work us in.

Ddolder called again with other ideas about getting into the storage building. I'm sure we'll figure it out. There's not a thing in there that I need in a hurry,

lucylee, I hope the lesson went very well for you this evening and that you had a nice group.

Have sewed 4 long seams tonight and found some more little bits and bobs to use. That's been pleasant. It gives me something to look forward to tomorrow and something to fall asleep "sewing" tonight, lol.
