Walked before sunrise
Went to class, made breakfast for Sweetie and a flax seed muffing for me to take to my coffee gathering… they serve donuts there and I am trying to stay away from sugar.

Came home and walked my little friend and then spent time catching up on emails

Off to get my nails done

We never get kids here for Halloween. We’ll walk up to my friends house later this evening and sit with them and enjoy the fun.

Haven't CUOP yet because I'm too distracted by the four guys working and chatting. The plumber showed up with three helpers and quickly found the issue causing the sheetrock ceiling to be wet. While tracing the leaking line in the attic, they discovered it led to the hot water heater. They then noticed water in the hot water heater pan—yikes! The 13-year-old hot water heater turned out to be the second plumbing issue, as it was on the brink of bursting and creating a disaster. The plumber contacted his supplier with a list of items to deliver to our home. While waiting for the supplies, I asked if he could take a look at our ice maker, which hadn’t been connected when we got a new refrigerator. He called the supplier again to add a few more plumbing parts for that job. So, the 3-inch wet spot on the living room ceiling led to replumbing in the attic, replacing the hot water heater, and connecting the ice maker.
I'm really grateful the plumbing repairs are being done before a pipe or heater could burst and create a huge mess. That would have been a major hassle.

DS17 called to see if he could trade his flatbed truck for a 1974 Mercury Marquis. That guy never seems to stop swapping vehicles. This one actually caught my interest because it’s unique—it’s bright yellow. Only 10 more months until he reaches the legal age to transfer the vehicles into his name instead of ours. I can't wait for that!

After two hours and $1600, all our plumbing issues are resolved. We now have a new 40-gallon hot water heater that should hopefully last for the next decade. These repairs weren't planned but they worked out well.

We have two hours until trunk & treat set up begins. DD14 is teaming up with her friends, and they will attend in costume. DS17 just got home from work driving one of his boss's big feed trucks to use for handing out candy. Why? Because he's a teenager and likes to do things differently.

iIn between other tasks, I’m still working on harvesting the garden. Tomorrow night is supposed to drop to 35°F, so we might get a frost. I won’t be able to harvest everything because there’s just too much. Dozens of tomatoes and peppers will unfortunately succumb to the cold weather. They'll eventually end up in the compost pile, ensuring their effort to grow won't go to waste.

by the way how is your d sons boss?

lol on teenager wants to do things differently
do you have a freezer big enough to freeze layers of tomatoes - to can later etc.
we do that here - freeze one day and then use it for sauces etc. another -
the compost pile will be happy with contributions - that I am sure of.

I am tired - mom is tired. heart dr. for her. I will chat later about it.
d helper had a problem with her diabetes- we got her food and now she is better (such a young woman to have it be a problem like this)

dd older - the think she has Salmonella - from where? no one knows - they also said it caused her liver levels to jump high again - she doesn't drink - she is scared of why that this is like this. She received three iv's - mmm and antibiotics. they did a ct scan but no blockages - inflammation though.

I have to get a check for the conserva water company - he is blowing out the pipes for winter.

Wow, I just realized this is Halloween. I came upstairs and have been working on genealogy all day. I have hardly talked to dh today, lol, I've had my head down and I've been loving it.

I heard him take the dog out for her walk not long ago, thank goodness. She was driving me crazy. I need to head downstairs and get Halloween prepped I think.

the sweetest thing - I had mom come to the door - to see the tricker treaters - her eyes sparkled!!! she said healthy halloween! she fell in love with the babies especially. she was so so happy!
what a joy! it touched my heart.

I just had a stinker teen - he told me, looking down and couldn't look at me- - "I need three candies for the kids down the street" You know how you feel someone is fibbing. There were no kids on our block at that time - you can see down the road on both sides. Little stinker.
We had quite a few trick or treaters.

He is doing okay. A bit more grouchy than usual. He has several medical treatments. DS17 is shy about asking details. He just knows it has something to do with prostate cancer.

DSonIL thought he would get out of the hospital today, but they are keeping in a few more days. After having half of lung taken out, he stayed in ICU a couple days before being moved to a regular room. They removed his epidural pain meds and switched him to pills today.

Whenever I feel like complaining about something, I remind myself that I'm not lying in a hospital bed, and suddenly everything I'm facing feels more manageable.

Yes. it is just a matter of having enough time and focus to get it done.

DSisIL stopped by for a visit today.

Praying for your d sons boss! praying for him to heal!
praying for your d son in law. it is hard to stay longer - praying for him to heal so that he can get out soon. to be home again is the best medicine.

it's a lot of work picking and washing all those tomatoes and peppers. Hope you don't have freeze so that you can get them; but I am sure they were very tasty this summer! I didn't grow peppers this year and I wish I had.

I did not get a lot of rest today, too many trips to the toilet. Sigh. I need to do some laundry now. I’ll spare y’all TMI. Suffice it to say things have happened with very little warning.
Ddil convinced me that it was kinda ridiculous for me to go out on a cold night, risk having an “accident,” to watch our high school team lose to a much larger, better team, while dgs stands on the sideline.

I have taken 4 Imodium (in two doses) and I’m still having trouble. Dmom said it might take 24 hrs for the keflex to be out of my system.
Dgd said she wanted to go to the ballgame but ddil convinced her to stay with me.

I have done pic. with Dggson plus I thought to ask if they wanted me to take a pic. of the
three of them yes, and I did it turned out cute they thought. They can put it in their family
album of their 1st Halloween too! I'd thought of that earlier. Glad I remembered.

The day is cloudy and supposed to rain tomorrow.
Air quality is still not the best here.

Had my dinner early as the soup I was going to have for lunch did not thaw out in time oh well I
had an alternate plan.

Did up my dishes.
