(((LadyM))) I just have no words... just prayers for you and LordM and all your family. I know it must have been hard to process what the doctor was saying and consider what you need/want to do. Sometimes doctors can be so matter-of-fact and don't really realize what they are throwing at us. You definitely need time to consider what your needs are at this point. I am sooo glad you have your older son and ds17 (who shows so much maturity for his age) to help you through this -- even when it's just because you need a sounding board and a second opinion.

I do want to say, you are one of the wisest, most competent people I have ever "met." I have no doubt that you will manage whatever comes your way with skill, grace, and wisdom. But I know it can be exhausting to be the one everyone else depends on. (((BIG HUGS))) and lots of prayers.

It is so hard to watch the men we have relied on become people who rely on us.
BUT -- we do have each other -- here in this little village -- and sometimes when there are things that we don't want to talk about with our IRL circles, people who know our dhusbands, then we can always come here for a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on. I can't even begin to tell y'all how much your support has meant to me over the years, and especially these last 19 months.
Well -- today I still slept in pretty late, but I finally got up, got that budget typed and emailed to people who needed it. I have done two loads of clothes (but have a huge load of towels on the couch that needs to be folded and a bunch of clothes draped over the stationary bike that needs to be hung on hangers to dry.) I also printed labels to put on the photos I will include with Christmas cards. Talked to dfriend (father of estranged daughter.) DS came over and helped with Excel AND got my speakers working again on the computer. I haven't been able to use them for sooo long!

Another task I've been putting off -- I ordered a book for my teacher group to put in the local library in memory of dh. The treasurer said to keep the receipt and she would reimburse me, but it is only available in paperback and only costs $21 so I told her I would pay for it and count it as a donation to our group. I don't often give to our scholarship fund and things like that.
OH -- and a very nice thing re: Christmas gifts. One of ds' friends is going to be performing at the Opry the weekend after Thanksgiving. He makes posters that look like the old-time Hatch prints (google that) and he put one on FB last night advertising their appearance. I sent him a FB message and asked if it would be possible to get a copy of that for ds, that he would love it in his music room. Well, this morning I woke up and he had written back "Send me your address." I told him I intended to pay for it, I know he's not getting them free of charge, but so far he has not replied to that. So that is one gift I can check off my list. I will give ds $$ for Christmas, but I love to be able to surprise him with something to unwrap, and that is VERY difficult to do
I also cleaned off the ironing board! Ta da!!! Books are back in the shelves... checkbook registers filed with the others... a n d... a huge stack of "organization tips & planners" in the bathroom, waiting to be filed.
What a mess. (What irony.
) I've got to go through all of that and decide what to keep and what to toss. There is just a limit to how much organization info one can actually retain, you know? I can't read 50 pages of stuff every day.

I had already scooped up two bowls of rainbow sherbet for her BEFORE we ate supper.
I heard her getting into the freezer again, rattling the bowl and spoon, and I went in there and said, "How many bowls of sherbet does that make? You know your mommy said no more than two."
She said, "It's just one because I've used the same bowl every time."
LOL at TwinsDad loving Costco. (I have never been to Costco, btw. The closest one is almost an hour away, I think.)

Harriet, when I go to Publix I feel it is very posh.
But they do display everything so nicely and have a much bigger selection usually than my local grocery store or Wmart.

Well... they probably are right. But there are times when I have been sitting on the couch, literally falling asleep while reading something, and I go get in the bed and suddenly I am not sleepy at all. Maybe having dgd here for three nights next weekend will help -- she is definitely an "early to bed, early to rise" person.
(((Mystery))) re: brothers. I think I told y'all mine is not coming for the holidays. It's not that big a deal for me -- I'd like to see him, but phone calls are fine with me too, but I worry that dmom needs to see him. I can't imagine not seeing my ds more often than dbro sees dmom.
Okay... dgd has taken over my bedroom (I can hear her turning cartwheels) so I guess I should go fold those towels.
