hello sorting hat managed to focus me!
making Swedish meatballs - meatballs are sitting in the fridge. dd younger will make the cucumber salad - I will make the green beans and the egg noodles. - soaking the beef for beef Burgundy for Christmas Day - I will cook it tomorrow and then freeze it.
I need to freeze the chicken - a whole chicken for a future soup. or just make stock and put in freezer. or can
tomorrow make green cabbage for mom = she likes it.
now to flip laundry

I make a cookie from a cream cheese dough with an apricot center.
yay on a stable bloodwork - stable is better than non stable! praying for a really good blood test the next time! praying for very good health for you!

hi d lady i am glad your d son enjoyed taking the bulls to the vet and bringing them back to the fields.
have you tried poblano's - a favorite here - not too hot - but lovely in a lot of dishes!

you slept in today d twins - wonderful!!!
we used to make cookies for everyone - but we don't do that now - we still make a couple cookies. hope you had fun at your work out.

Hello, all!

Hmm... enthusiasm. I've been trying to figure out what I feel enthusiastic about. I don't think I'm currently depressed, but I've spent so much of my adult life either depressed or spending too much time taking care of others without taking care of myself, that I don't know what I'm enthusiastic about anymore. Not as bad as when I started on the old red dress boards -- I chose the name MysteryWoman not because I'm a huge mystery fan but because I was a mystery to myself. Still, I don't know what I might feel enthusiasm for. I think of things I used to do when I was young, and now I'm like, "Nah." I keep trying; maybe I'll hit on something.

Glad you're enjoying your snowy day, LadyM. Our snow of the other day has receded a little, and last night was mostly icy. It took a while to scrape off the van this morning, but fortunately, the ground was not as icy. I still remember with fear the one time -- last winter, maybe, or the winter before -- when I fell on the ice (forward, thank heavens), had to have DH bring me out something to try to push myself up with, which didn't work, and I ended up rolling across the backyard to get to the back steps, which I was able to use to get up. I have been skittish about ice ever since.

I hope you enjoy your workout, Twins! The holidays do make schedules crazy, especially when they fall midweek. IKWYM about dreading preparation for travel. It seems like whenever we go anywhere, DH packs his bag and that's it, and he doesn't worry about any of the other preparations that need to be made.

I'm glad your head is feeling better, blessed. Your cooking adventures sound yummy! What sort of cucumber salad do you make?

The second thing, every once in a while, is remembering there's a man. In between the fussing and irritations, he is interesting.

Men certainly can be interesting, can't they? I know mine is -- in between the irritations (he doesn't fuss so much).

I have been semiproductive today. I was slightly discombobulated by my errand after dropping DC off at school. I made a grocery order for the ingredients for my contribution to Saturday's girls' night -- white chocolate Chex mix. They did not have the mini vanilla wafers, but that wasn't the source of the discombobulation -- I forgot my phone, so I couldn't call them to say I was at the store. I had to wait until someone else arrived and was getting their order, so I could call out to the worker. Of course, this meant that I was driving without my license , as I have taken to carrying that in my phone case. And, of course, if I had any trouble on the roads, I couldn't call anyone for help. The good thing is that I had an alarm on the phone to remind me to pick up the groceries, so DD knew where I was and then came right outside when I got home, to help carry.

I'm just kind of drowsy and moving slow. Next job is to clean up the scattered lunch dishes and then go start a load of wash. I am so caught up with wash it is amazing (knock wood). Yesterday, I washed a single sweater of DC's that's been waiting; if I don't have a full load of anything today, I will wash a scarf/shawl that I'm afraid will bleed.

I went out for lunch with a somewhat annoying friend today. They wouldn't hear that I had no desire for the rocking chair they were trying to cram into my car. I told them I would get it at some other time when I had dh's truck. NOPE! It had to come home with me today. It fit in their car, so it must fit in mine... 45 minutes of struggling and adjusting seats... guess what's in my back seat. Not only that but they thought it would be funny to write someone's name on it that would make dh think it was my ex MIL's chair. They know her name through numerous conversations we have had over many years. They didn't think it was funny that I tried to scribble black marker over that name from my past. Why do people do ridiculous things like that? Any way... I have been reminded by dh that I have told him numerous times that this person annoys me at some level every time their name comes up in a conversation.

Yes, a very annoying person, Cathy. I think I would have put my foot down about the rocking chair into the car process, but sometimes I just get bowled over by people. Next time, if there is a next time for lunch, have an "appointment" immediately after so you can get away!

Mystery, I feel much the same as you. I spent a lot of time taking care of others. I'm not so enthusiastic about the man, in all honesty, especially since he's around so much now. Still an adjustment I guess. And of course I thought he'd help out more once he was home - he does some days but it's hit or miss and I think he feels nagged if I ask.

bw2, sounds like a wonderful dinner! Are the Swedish meatballs on for tonight or are you cooking ahead? You got some momentum going there with the cooking, good for you. The sorting hat worked magic!

So very glad you're up for quilt making Harriet, and having the family all together. We'll all hold our breath that everyone (schools included) stays healthy this month!

Congrats on the successful luncheon Kittykatt! It sounds lovely. I completely understand being peopled out afterwards too. Nice that dh will be out some to allow you to recoup.

LadyM, you sound like you're having a great day - no trips out except the school run, and lots of family time.

I have put the patio chairs I had stashed in the carport away in the shed along with the side tables for them.
It's raining but did not get too wet.
Ddoggo declined today's walk.
I got my a.m. steps in mostly at the store.
The looking for the comp. note books I put away and it was not in a regular spot so had to hunt for em.
I needed one today glad I found them now I"m out of the mood to take notes in it I did put some info. on a
4" x 6" card.

Prepped some food for a dinner side.
Waiting on a load in the dryer now.
