Kittykatt, I have never heard the term "pierced" for curates. Does it represent being nailed to the cross?
FrenchFly, I am happy to share. Most of my furniture, including my computer desk and entertainment centre, are made of chrome post and wire computer carts that I bought as surplus from an old employer. Things like this:

Both have 4' posts and the wire shelves are 4' long. The entertainment centre has 3 shelves. The computer desk has only two shelves: the bottom shelf at the lowest level, and the top shelf slightly above my lap, comfortable for the keyboard. The monitor should be a little higher than it is.
The standing desk is not a complete desk, but something that you set on a desk or table. The top is a solid, like a piece of countertop from your kitchen, 29" X 19". Underneath is the same kind of mechanism as an ironing board, just with heavier materials. It has a quick-release mechanism, so that you can raise to work standing up for a while, and the release it again to sit back down. Like an ironing board. When I planned to put it on my computer desk, I was picturing putting the monitor on it and sliding a laptop underneath, and plugging them both into a KVM switch to share peripherals. But the crossed legs make it impractical to put things underneath.
The entertainment centre is against the back wall of my apartment, and covers the space between the patio door and a side wall, with a bit of room on each side. I have the TV on the patio door side, which puts it in the middle of the room. I have neighbours' bedroom walls on both sides, so this is as far as I could get the TV from their walls. It worked out pretty well, as I can see the TV from everywhere in the apartment except the bathroom and the closet. On the side of the top shelf I have a large rectangular magnet that I hang my tools from.
The second shelf is reasonably accessible but the bottom shelf is out of reach unless I collapse the dog's pen. Which is awkward because there are things inside the dog's pen that have to be moved first. If I move the standing desk under the TV and VCR/DVD player, it will actually increase the surface area of the top shelf and let me try the TV at different heights. Of course, that means clearing the clutter off of the top shelf. Right now, I have significantly increased the chaos in the apartment with my reorganizing, so I might have to finish some of what I started first, LOL.
I love Howl's Moving Castle. It's been a long time since I saw the movie, but the audiobook is well worth a listen as well. The author wrote a few books in which Howl appears. It turns out that he is Welsh, and that his name is actually Howell.
I'll bet that was a fun day with all of the grandkids, kitkat!
A fondue sounds fun, L.Ann. Are you doing a cheese fondue or an oil fondue? (I'm assuming that it's not a chocolate fondue for supper, LOL.)

What I have heard of for an American tradition is Hoppin' John with greens. I think that it's black-eyed peas rather than lentils. The legumes are to attract coins, and the greens to attract paper money in the coming year. And, of course, if you cooked a ham for Christmas, the bone is in the Hoppin' John to make the broth.
Oh, I can totally relate to trying to work at your desk in a cold space, Lauralind. I am fighting the urge to crawl back into bed and turn on the heated throw. Honestly, I would leave your craft room desk for spring. You have had so many balls up in the air, I think that you should give yourself a break any way that you can for now. I'm sorry about the cats marking the curtains. Was that stress from the fireworks. And poor Casper feeling that his yard was under attack.
I see that you have your good luck meal, Bama. And the animals are very relieved to find that their food is not on your Donwanna list for today, LOL. Hooray for DH foraging breakfast.
kitkat, some of my best meals are when I put together leftovers with random things from the fridge and pantry, LOL.
Mmmm... boeuf bourguignon sounds delicious, FrenchFly. That is disappointing about your DH's headphones breaking in half.
Thursday
Rolled up old runner on computer desk and removed old placemats to replace
Rolled out clean runner on half of desk
Removed keyboard and mouse
Lifted monitor with one hand and chin, and unrolled the rest of the runner
Put keyboard and mouse back on
Cleared off standing desk
Dusted it
Set it up on computer desk
Turned it 90 degrees
Realized that the standing desk is causing problems and solving none
Found that I was cut off from the kitchen
Reorganized the area under the pass through in order to clear up the way to the door
Shook out the old runner and put it in laundry
Cleaned up after dog
Breakfast for dog: she ate two out of three dog foods: yay!
Gave her extra spoonfuls of the two acceptable dog foods: yuck ptooey
Sat down to eat my own breakfast
Cleaned up after dog
Checked dog’s dish: she has eaten some
Put more yuck ptooey dog food in her dish as a reward for using her pee pad
Folded/put away the laundry from the clothesline.
Put away dry tshirts and brought more out to dry more effectively.
It should have said, " the curate hasn't been priested yet". She's been ordained deacon, but won't be ordained priest until sometime this year. 
) and they are now hanging up and covering the windows. They're lined and quite thick , so I'm hoping it will help the kitchen stay warmer in winter now the windows are covered. (The kitchen tends to be cold during the winter months, as we get a draft from the windows.) OTOTH, now they are finally in place, it almost certainly guarantees that the weather will now warm up!
