Hooray! I get to greet Kittykatt before I go to bed. Happy New Year!
Image

I have nice clean cheerful linens on my computer desk and all of the clutter in boxes waiting to come back on the desk, but I'm not actually happy with the set up. I was planning to use the standing desk to raise the monitor and give myself space to add one of my laptop computers (or two), but it's just not suitable. It's too big, and the part underneath is not easily accessible. I'm now eyeballing the entertainment centre as the happy recipient of the standing desk, but have to look at my options for the computer desk.

Thank you for starting us off, Kittykatt.

Happy new year, Dogged, and thank you for the picture. WTG getting your desk cleared off. Sleep well!

A very happy new year to everyone!

Laura, I'm glad your DMum seems settled and that she's enjoying the food - eating is so important for seniors.
.
Gma, you have such helpful advice and a huge store of knowledge -thank you for sharing!

I'm planning a quiet day today - it's cold a frosty out, but is supposed to be sun y, so hopefully a walk when it's warmed up a bit! Id really like to start shortening those curtains that I bought nearly 2 years ago for the kitchen! Today would be a good day, as I have no urgent plans for anything else. There's no church today , which is a shame, as it would have been a nice start to the new year, but the clergy need their rest too after working so hard over Christmas, and may e they couldn't get anyone to stand in? Our curate hasn't been pierced yet, so can't give absolution. Oh, well, it will be nice to have a quiet Thursday and spend some time with DH.

Ha e a good day, everyone!

◕‿◕ * * * Good Morning! * * * ◕‿◕

Happy New Year!
Best wishes for health,
happiness, success
and a beautiful year ahead.

Kittykatt, sorry you can't go tu church today. A quiet day is a good plan B.

Doggedly, I'm interested in following your progress re standing desk. We have difficulty here making room for a desk for MrNG to work on (writing his report, working on his own consulting business), and some space for me to land in on the evenings when I manage to have some quiet thinking time with a laptop. What does your entertainment center look like ? I mean I'm curious about the size of it. Lovely picture, thanks.

Cold, very sunny first day of the Year. We went to bed after midnight, we watched Howl's Walking Castle by Miyakazi, eating pizza and toast and ice-cream yule log. Late start, kids fighting, but it looks like a quiet day. I intend to catch up in the family journal today, the last entry is in autumn sometime in early November I think. I need to set up the January family calendar on the fridge ( a simple striped sheet with a line for each day) and my purse paper planner. And order the New year cards we send to family each January.
We will be having lentils for lunch - a tradition in my paternal family, supposed to bring prosperity during the year.

TADAs
all up late, fed bfast, leftover pizza and home made brioche
settled fights
a few home chores here and there, dw started (forgotte), stove clean and started, vacuumed
lentils cooked

TODO
prepare lentil salad with smoked truit
other leftovers for lunch
family January planning sheet up on the fridge door

Happy New Year Ladies!
Thanks for the start Kittykatt a quiet day is wonderful!
Dogged hope you get the desk-dilemma sorted out:)
Enjoy the day at home, FFly!

I disappeared yesterday b/c my DGKids came... all of them. And, they stayed all day. So all those things on my list remained there - never got done.
We spent the evening with DKids (and DGkids, of course).

Today is cold and sunny. Better than the Grey Gloom of the past few days.
I will try to get something done:

starting with
lol
meds/supplements
DDog breakfast

piles of clean laundry pa
D2 ex
gym (yes, it's open!)

Morning all. Happy new year to all of you. I am with you doggedly. I need to finish my desk in the craft room. I could use it now but I have one problem... it's way at the other end of the house where it's cooler and a long way from everything else. I want a quiet space for qt and journal time but I have to make myself want to be in there.

Aww sorry there's no church kittykat. Tough one to decide but it seems your church is small and the ones who serve and lead probably do need a break too. You're right. Enjoy your quiet day. Reminds me i should start laundry with curtains too.. I put new ones on the big dining room windows and it seems the cats have marked their territory 🤔

Frenchie I hope you can sort some desk space too.

Fondue sounds yummy lann.

Awww I bet you loved every baby snuggle helian. Yup today is gifts for ds and ddil and lil j. Then done.

I need to get moving. Every year I get less enthralled with new years. Don't get me wrong I am needing the fresh start. But goodness. Fireworks... right outside my bedroom windows. And more. It felt like it went on till almost 2 in random places. I get the midnight and fine make a nice long show. But why so on and on forever. Casper was inside and refusing to go out for bedtime... cats I'm almost sure there's a new marking spot hidden somewhere 🤔. And I didn't fall asleep. 630 was wake time if I want to or not.

And now it's almost 8. I have so much to do . The late night is going to make me lose my kitchen helper cause who knows when he's going to wake up. Or if earlier he might be in morning mood.

I'll just have to recruit help I guess.

Take ribs out cause I forgot
Dh haircut and quick sweep
Shower
S&s both baths and tidy laundry room

Empty and reload dw
Finish tidying kitchen all the way
Breakfast?
