Helia, thank you for the words of encouragement. Ive done one coat of paint, and I'm waiting until the 2 hours are up so I can paint the second and final coat. Then I'll wait another hour until it's touch dry to let the Girls out of the bedroom! (Freddie is asleep on top of "his" kitchen cupboard

Trissie, I'm glad today went better for you. As the weather was beautiful and sunny this morning, I went for a long walk. I'm not sure when we'll see the sun again, so I wanted to make the most of it. Of course this means I'm not going to get much done on my list except for the painting, but tomorrow is another (rainy) day!
Bama, your Christmas tree sounds so pretty! I know a couple (a retired bishop and his wife), who always leaves their tree up until Candlemas on 2nd February, which marks the end of Epiphany, so you're in very good company!
As we had a beautiful sunny start, I made the most of it with a long walk round the estate a d even some time in my tiny front garden,.where I can reach everything from paths. I have snowdrops, daffodils hellebores and cyclamen flowering now, so it's starting to wake up again.
I was just contemplating maybe having a little look in my back garden,.when I felt the first spot of rain. So I took that as a sign it was time to come in. I painted the first coat of paint on the wall before lunch. I'm just waiting for it to be ready to recoat, and then I'll paint the second coat, and that will be it. I'm not a good painter by any means, but if it looks better than it did before, then I'll be happy.
